“You’re going to be a decent person, when?”

I recorded this in 2008. With Saturn going into Libra it is newly relevant. Does the manner in which you leave one relationship impact the next? Does the trail of bodies behind you mean anything?

Long time reader and excellent commenter, goddess is affiliated with GoodKarmaHost.com. I see her link come up in the comment and also think to myself, yeah, she had good karma all right. There are a number of reasons I think that and I am sure most agree, but I would assume this based on her loving and jaw-droppingly helpful and insightful comments and advice on step-parenting questions alone.

I was running through my gabillion drafts and realized I had this other point to make on the whole subject of squandering talent.

Now the soldier and I know someone who is very talented. This gal was born blessed with little deficit and profound opportunity. She also enjoyed supreme support from a variety of high quality sources, way beyond the norm.

Not only was every single shred of this squandered, the resources were employed to do damage. This gal wreaked as much havoc as possible, motivated by pure greed and without remorse.

To witness this was galling. It’s like it would turn your hair a new color or something… things like this are just not supposed to happen, sort of like toes falling right off your feet but it did.

Last night the soldier and I were discussing our views on karma, comeuppance, the idea of what goes around comes around and so forth. He has very firm ideas around all this which makes him interesting to talk to. Upside of Saturn you could say. It’s like talking to someone who has some authority and is willing to stand on it.

He is of the opinion he’s got a hard road to hoe due bad deeds in past lives and we got to talking about just exactly what it is that constitutes a bad deed. Is it keeping the dollar when a clerk miscounts your change or something much worse? He expressed his ideas on this and at one point used a word that really pricked up my ears. “Anguish”.

Dear Elsa,

What happens to people, karmically, if they cheat on their husbands or wives? I know a woman with whom I work with, and she has 2 kids and she cheats on her husband with multiple men and he has no idea. Like, is there anything karmically that comes around to people?

She justifies this because she feels her husband is apathetic towards her. She does it, I think, like a drug addict. She likes the chase, the catch and then the conquer. Okay so I have a confession. I know all her secrets because I was checking her email and I can see the men she emails. She plays the victim, like “oh poor me I work so hard, my husband doesn’t think I’m sexy.” But, I can see emails from him to her saying hello beautiful, gorgeous, blah blah blah. Anyways, whatever. But it pisses me off.

She is sleeping with the president of my company, and she has also slept with other men who work in it, too. It’s just SO slimy! And she won’t leave her husband. She was also sleeping with another man in the company, but then when the President hit on her, she dumped the sales guy & went for him.

She has her same story that she tells these men. She tells them she is married and her husband doesn’t pay attention to her. Two of these men, the sales guy & the president LEFT THEIR WIVES FOR HER, and then she goes, no, I’m going to give it one more shot with my husband. She blames it on her strict religion (she is from Iran) and says she doesn’t want to break up her family. So she just goes around playing these men & they fall for it.

Anyway, I guess I just needed to vent. This woman is 36 and she is acting like this. I guess she is unhappy inside & sleeps with these men for a feeling of power, or I don’t know. It just bugs me, it’s slimy.

Are there repercussions karmically for stuff like that? Or it is just her own battle, we all have our inner battles, and this isn’t any worse than being an alcoholic or cheating on your taxes?

Speaking of karma (in the comments on the last blog), recently I was writing to HQ about the soldier. He hates injustice and he strongly believes things get put right eventually. He thinks it can take a long time but he’s seen it come around too many times to think it won’t come around eventually.

Now I have not had the same experience. And it will be interesting to see if this changes at this point where our lives have intersected (again) or not. But as for current, I surprised myself by calling my life “a portrait of injustice” in my mail to HQ.

And he didn’t respond, or at least he hasn’t yet but this has been my absolute experience. I have seen very little come around! In fact I have seen virtually nothing come around (in my personal life) and many years ago I dealt with this by expanding the window. You know. There is always next life, right?

Well maybe there is. Or maybe some people just get to walk. I don’t know and really I don’t care. I used to care mightily but gave up in the early 90’s when all those planets lined up in Capricorn and I found out how little I had to do with anything.

Now I will say I do see it come around in other people’s lives. For example one of my friends was recently betrayed and I can see the universe setting up to pound the perps into the ever-lovin’ ground, but my life? I think people walk all the time. They just do.

What is your experience with this? What have you observed and how do you feel about it?

I have a very cautious friend. He’s cautious because whenever he tries to shirk anything, he’s typically caught and the consequences are generally severe.

I on the other hand, get away with almost everything and when I am caught the consequences are what would be expected on occasion but frequently they are light and even more frequently they are waived all together. It sounds like this…

“Hey, Elsa I know you did this and this and this.”

“Uh huh?”

“Think you can stop.”

“Yeah.”

“Okay, then. Sorry to bother you…”

Now it doesn’t always work that way but it works that way often enough to notice and I am never, ever handed down some kind of death blow punishment so why do you think this is? Why the disparity?

I wonder if it comes down to Saturn in the natal chart. If you have a well placed and well aspected Saturn might authority figures lean on you as opposed to crush you or throw the book at you? And do people with hard aspects to Saturn get slammed?

For the record, I don’t think it’s fair. I mean, I have Libra so I know it’s not fair but it does seem to happen this way. Do you notice this and if so how do you explain it?

“Well, I think so. So he goes home and writes a poem about her. He immortalized her in this poem and all it is the truth! It’s not hateful. It’s not vindictive. He says she lost her beauty and in fact she has. Because anyone who could and would say something like that, obviously has no beauty to them.
