Open Question: Astrology And Charity: Who Do You Give To And Why?
Ask the collective
One of the regular readers wrote to ask where you would look in a chart for the best opportunity to give. Her specific words were; “The best type of charity for a person to give to?”
I am not sure I understand the question but think the topic in general is grand and I have given this some thought.
I consider myself a giving person, in fact my life is pretty much about two things… service and getting laid. But as any innately giving person can tell you, it is important to come up with some kind of criteria and/or boundary around who and what you give too unless you want to be a bled dry doormat.

My Jupitarian Big, Huge, Large, Impossibly Large, Freakishly Forward Looking, Never Say Die, Unstoppable Perspective
Commenting on the comments
Diana writes on The Sycophant (part 4) regarding the book I wrote:
“Omg, let me read it. I’d love to read it, I’m totally serious. Get that thing published. Believe it or not, your experiences help me understand things and people around me. I’m only 19 so I’m not so experienced with much of anything. Not only that, your experiences are super entertaining.
I’ve been reading your blog for almost a year and even though we’ve never met, I still feel that I know you. I can relate to everything that you write, regardless of what it is, you make sure everyone gets their share. So without sounding too creepy, I care about happens in your life. I read your blog every single day and I feel like I know everyone you talk about. Just a bunch of characters that I can relate to. So, it would be really interesting to read about how you got to where you are now…”

Open Question: Demystifying The Jupiter Return In Astrology
Astrology in real life
Dear Elsa,
I have my Jupiter return happening now in Capricorn. This is supposed to be a big event because I have Sagittarius rising and my Jupiter is in my 1st house. I really don’t know that much about Jupiter returns. Maybe you would want to share something about this with the collective. Oh and by the way I don’t mind expanding but golly gee am I gaining weight.

Dear Elsa,
I liked your happiness posts. I would love to see more astrology on this. What do you look at as a happiness base? Jupiter? Moon? Difficult or easy Saturn, Mars, Venus? Probably everything but do you have a standard procedure for a basic happy-meter?

Astrology And Transits: Saturn, Pluto, Jupiter, Neptune Etc. - How Do These Transits Play Out?
Astrology in real life
Conny asks on Coping with Saturn Transits:
“What do you think Elsa, would a Saturn with trines and sextiles be easier to live with? And would this influence the way we feel the Saturn return too? I’m thinking, does the return activate the aspects of Saturn in the chart, what’s your experience?”
Conny - I have Saturn strongly placed and well aspected and have an easier time with Saturn transits than most for exactly the reason you imagine. Works this way not just for the Saturn return but for any transit and/or transiting planet. The transit does set off the natal situation.

So how are these happy people, happy anyway? I would say across the board you are going to see Jupiter strongly placed. It is very hard to take Jupiter down. Matter of fact it is damned near impossible.
If you do take them down, they will be right back up the next day which is why Sagittarius beats the hell out of Scorpio.

Jupiter Types - Just Not Prone To Complaining
Astrology in real life
Today I told a pal the soldier was taking me to dinner because I was his his girl, since that is what he told me. As it turns out he had Mother’s Day on his mind as well and we wound up going out for Greek.
The waitress was an obvious Aquarian so I complimented her hair (Venus in Leo amusing herself). She offered us a sample of some wine she was pushing, we tried it and liked and ordered a bottle.
Back with a new bottle she opened it and allowed us an opportunity to okay it.
The soldier looked at her like, “pour the son of a bitch already.”
“Should I just pour?” she asked, picking up the cue.
“Yeah,” I said. “We have a very hard time being unhappy,” I explained.
“Yes, we just tested it didn’t we?” she said dispensing with the formality and filling our glasses.
A few minutes later it hit me how fortunate we are to be this way. Hit us with your best shot. It is only going to go so far and it’s far at all.
Is it hard for you to be unhappy? Where is Jupiter in your chart?
Alternately if it is difficult for you to be happy, is there anyway you might work to reinforce your Jupiter function (Jupiter in Capricorn)

Astrology Today: Hail Jupiter!
My eye on the sky
The collective mood improves as the the Moon in Cancer contacts Jupiter and enjoys a trine from Uranus.
The Sun in Taurus is also trine Jupiter so all in all we’ve got quite a bit of optimism out there… always appreciated.

Endless Stories - They Can’t Be Stopped!
Astrology in real life
Heather M wrote regarding Disturbing Scorpio:
“A person should be able to share. It’s too bad your very watery friend could not be more sensitive to you. Maybe another time.”
It’s all right, Heather M. I know he loves me and would do anything I asked him to, including continue to listen. It’s just I don’t need that right now. I really was just filling him in, hitting the main points. I am the kind of person if you don’t track me, pretty soon you can’t catch up. There is just so much that happens to me and around me - it’s always been this way.
When I first started keeping a blog in 2001, people wondered when I would run out of stories. How many stories can she possibly have?
Well I will never run out of stories nor have the time to tell all the stories I have. I figure maybe 5 or 10% could be told if I wrote every day for the rest of my life and this is only if my life was very long… like into my 80’s.
If you think about it, you can see the amount of work I have to do is staggering so it should be no wonder to anyone why I would not mind dying sooner. Because man, I am tired! It’s an endless mountain, see? Or endless depth. Or maybe it’s both. In whatever case I am quite sure I am supposed to put this out there.
Um… the mountain is Capricorn, the depth, my 8th house. The endless stories come from Mercury in the 9th and Jupiter hard core.
