Jupiter vs Saturn / Confidence vs Humility

Ask the collective

jupiter saturnJamie writes regarding know-it-alls and Jupiter aspects:

“I know that I am supposed to have an over-inflated ego and a know-it-all attitude (because some know-it-all published Astrologers say so) but I cannot relate to that interpretation at all. I think that there are very few things that I know very well but am the first to admit I am ignorant about many others.”

Jamie I think there is a difference between knowing a lot and knowing it all. Someone can know a lot because they have learned a lot but they are still learning and therefore, humble.

For example I think I know all kinds of things but I learn from the soldier, constantly. I learn something from him every day and in astrology this is why Saturn and Jupiter are considered a natural pair like the Sun and Moon, or Venus and Mars.

Jupiter bestows confidence while Saturn keeps it in check. This is a good topic with Jupiter in Capricorn…

Astrology, Depression and Generosity: What I’ve Noticed About Giving

Ask the collective

JupiterWhat I’ve noticed is that people who habitually give always seems to have something to give while people who do not give seem bereft.

This is seen astrologically in the fact that Jupiter and Saturn balance each other. There is an old adage out there, that says if you want to feel better (Saturn / depression), do something for someone else (Jupiter / generosity). Since we’re talking Jupiter, the bigger the better.

Do you see a connection between giving and good cheer?

Elsa and Henry: Jupiter / Saturn types

Astrology in Real Life…

bike wreckThat’s my grandfather, Henry, circa 1923. He’s a double Capricorn with Mars exalted in Capricorn. He also had a stellium in Sagittarius, Mercury, Chiron, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and his north node.

He broke his leg and jacked up his knee like that not once but twice while doing stunts on his motorcycle. Consequently he had to limp up mountains for the rest of is life, so he did. He climbed his favorite mountain 127 times and he also ran on that bad leg just because someone told him he never would.

It’s a real Jupiter Saturn story and this is what he said about his knee:

“I guess I shouldn’t have done that. If I’d have just ridden the motorcycle instead of doing tricks I wouldn’t have this limp. And if I’d have learned the first time I broke my leg it wouldn’t be as bad as is it is. But it was just so much fun…”

This is how I feel this morning, as I head off to physical therapy for my back. Sticking my leg up in the air and twisting into a pretzel is just so much fun. I guess you could say we are willing to pay the price for out thrill. It’s a happy (Jupiter) reality (Saturn).

Can anyone with Jupiter in aspect to Saturn, or an emphasis on Sadge and Capricorn relate?

Argues With Her Husband About Stupid Things: Aquarius Sun, Jupiter Saturn Conjunct in Libra

Dear Elsa,

How do I stop always trying to be right? I am newlywed, and I don’t know if it is just the stress of being newly married, but my and my husband have been having arguing about stupid little things. I know I can’t always control everything and that I need to compromise, but I can’t get my head around it sometimes.

Help!
Aquarian
United States

aquarius girl twirlDear Aquarian,

What a terrific question - and better yet, the fact that you are asking it means there is hope for you! So let me talk to that Jupiter Saturn conjunction in Libra of yours.

First, you’re a born preacher. You’re someone ahead of your time with something to say and a way to say it. However humility factors here, as does maturity and a wide perspective. And the fact is, there is no such thing as “always right” or even as “right”. Because there is always going to be someone out there who can argue against you and win. A bigger fish, yes? There is always a bigger fish, or as the AMF used to say (a fellow Aquarian), ‘You’re not the only genius out there”.

And judging by your chart, chances are that you will someday have a platform for your teaching. So considering the large shoes you were born with, do you really want to spend you time bickering with your husband?

I didn’t think so. Stop it and stop it now. You are here to serve humanity, not here to micromanage your husband. Step up.

Good luck.

Jupiter As Antidote For Saturn Depression: Storytelling and Change of Perspective

Astrology In Real Life…

storytellerRegarding my coffee date, that first time we met, we discussed some of the regulars in the gym. I wouldn’t call it gossip, since neither of us are the type. It was more a sharing and comparing of our impressions of people which was really enjoyable to me because he’s observant but very different from me.

Like our writing. I write (true) stories and this blog. He writes lyrical poetry. He writes some other things but primarily he writes songs that record his emotions (Pisces Moon). I do the same, but in my own way. Continue reading Jupiter As Antidote For Saturn Depression: Storytelling and Change of Perspective
