Dinner was at whatever time it was but we were encouraged to come as early as possible so we did. The idea was to maximize the time the soldier and his old friend could spend together. My presence was also important for a reason you would never guess.  We were helping him recover his memory.

On this topic I mentioned that Leon, my friend of 30 years was going to the wedding of an ex-love of mine from 30 years ago (Scorpio Cheats Death…) who has been his friend for 40 years. Point being, Leon keeps his friends.

And on that note, he was flying to Michigan for this wedding, meeting another friend in the airport, also flying in for the wedding and this guy, Leon and the groom… well they have all been friends since they were 10 years old! So like I said, Leon keeps his friends.

I have to go get the needle stuck in my si joint today. The pain is exquisite I feel unnerved and disturbed in advanced. They stick that needle where it hurts the most… it’s like being a kid and going for your first pap smear times a million!

My doctor is skilled and emotionally sophisticated. I can’t imagine having to deal with this if he were otherwise. It’s a very strange experience though.

Imagine being awake and aware during your surgery and directing the knife as it cuts you because this is exactly what this is. You have in concert with the surgeon so that he can hurt you as much as possible for the purpose of healing. It’s a purely Plutonian experience. Can you relate?

So maybe you can see the scope of this. For him it’s like telling this person who is most important to you, “This is it. This is what I did with my life. What do you think?”

You’re asking when you know whatever gets said say will impact you profoundly. It will sear into your skin like some kind of brand.

And this is not to say he could not transcend my opinion, because he can transcend anything. But how would it feel to have the person who thought more of you than anyone else ever did… the person whose opinion matters the most, think less of you? OUCH.

And I had to go through this with him as well. Because he reads my stuff. He doesn’t read here, at least not regularly, but he read my other blog for four years.

And where this blog is professional the other was personal, so there you go. Never mind who you think or you thought I was. It’s apparent via my writing, how I turned out. I am not hiding here. This is who I am and what I’ve done with my life. Do you still love me? That’s a tender question. And if you ask it, will you be healed or killed?

Well, you don’t know. But you have to take off all your clothes to find out. You have to stand naked, with the emphasis on have to. Because he has the salve. And I have the salve. And how can we apply it if we can’t see where it needs to go?
