I was leaving the gym today, hair wet with a heavy bag slung over my shoulder. I came up in the corridor behind a man I see around sometimes, he’s African.

“I’m a speeder,” I said passing him on the left without breaking stride.

“How are you doing?” he asked as I passed.

“Good, what about you?”

“Good too. Sure wish they’d clean this place though. Especially the pool area. It’s nasty.”

Past him now, hitting the door,I looked over my shoulder. “I never go in there and hearing that, I’m glad,” I said.

Standing behind me now I saw him look down at my ass. “You’re losing your weight back,” he said. “For awhile there you had started to swell up. Looked like you were on steroids or something.”

I smiled then glanced over my shoulder at him. “I was eating cookies,” I said. “Bags of them at at a time.”

On that I turned back and headed to my car.

I figure this guy is some mixture of Virgo and Sagittarius. Virgo because of the cleanliness and attention to detail. Sadge because of his big mouth. I can’t say this bothered me though. I will be steering clear of cookies today, you know?

Also another indication of Neptune on the midheaven. People think I am on drugs!

Sagittarians and others with Jupiter prominent are always threating to expand. Jesse and I were on each on a crosstrainer…

“I keep eating cookies by the bag, Jesse. The bagog. I eat a whole bag of cookies.”

He laughed loudly, he always does.

“Yeah, it’s those mini oreos doing me in.”

“I like the Vanilla Wafers,” he said looking down at his stomach. “Love those things.”

“Yeah, well I eat the whole bag. A whole bag of cookies and then I sit there all grinning. I can feel the sugar all over my teeth. Whole mouth full of sugar and I’m all hopped up like a kid all smiling over the cookies I’ve just had. You know when you’re a kid and you’ve just had a bunch of sugar? It does make you smile but now look at me. What should I do, do you think? How can I stop eating cookies, what can I do?”

“Keep working out, Elsa. I guess you better just stay on the crosstrainer for the rest of your life.”

“You too,’ I said. “We need 8 days in a week to undo all the damage.”

“I know it. Don’t think I don’t know it,” he said, laughing like Santa Claus.

On that, we both shook our heads and went back to the task at hand.

Anyone else aware of their tendency to over-indulge? How do you counteract it?

I was on a crosstrainer and here comes Jesse. “That one is broken,” I said indicating the machine next to me. His face fell.

“Yeah, I know. These machines are falling apart. And you don’t believe me, do you?” I asked.

“Well…”

“I know, I know. You’re going to have to get on the thing and try it for yourself. Make sure I know what I’m talkin’ about.”

“Well…”

“Go ahead. It’s not like you’ll hurt my feelings,” I said, grinning. We both laughed because it was so ridiculous. “I’d find it hard to walk away myself. Just because it doesn’t work for me doesn’t mean it won’t fix right up for you… lucky as you are. Smilin’ as you are.”

He raised an eyebrow and got on the machine. It made a clunky grinding sound as he started up and we both shrugged.

“See ya, Jesse.”

“Later, Elsa.”

“You say that Scorpios absorb other people’s energy and being one I can say this is totally correct. I find I’m a magnifying glass. Whatever emotion is floating around I tend to mirror and magnify it. So my question is, with all of this absorbing, when do Scorps get to have their “own” energy?”

Rox - I think it’s Pisces that absorbs energy. Scorpio exchanges energy which is a different phenomena. Scorpios have their own energy every minute of the day. They use it to attract other people’s energy into their lives whether they are aware of this or not and I’ll explain the difference since I can access both scenarios. Another thing I’ve been seeing with the current Venus Saturn conjunction in Leo is older (than me) women who look fantastic. Pluto is training the conjunction and they happen to be naked (in the gym).

These women look proud (Leo) and empowered (Pluto). They have stature a younger woman just can’t muster and I am very inspired by them.

It just goes to show you it is possible to age gracefully and that working (Saturn) on your beauty (Venus) pays dividends over time.

You know it’s bad out there when Jess the Sagittarian goes down. Jess is a Jupiter archetype who goes to my gym. He’s a big, storytelling, philosophizing black man from Wyoming of all places and he’s always, always, always grinning. His perspective is broad, he unfailingly optimistic and whenever he’s next to me on the crosstrainer, time flies.

But today he had an ick story. He had a heart attack scare over the weekend and it was purely induced by anxiety. Not that he is not at risk of heart attack because as a black man in his fifties he surely is. But he describes how this came on… he was at home taking his blood pressure and watching it rise. Check it again and it had risen some more and pretty soon he got to thinking he better get to the hospital.

Turned out he was okay… anxiety can raise your blood pressure for sure but this got me to thinking.

First the Mars / Saturn / Neptune can really stir up some hologram fear. And if Jess can fall prey, well most of us are not nearly as fortified. And it reinforced my current reality - I don’t know anyone who is not struggling right now and most I know are struggling mightily. What about you?

Having a hard time? Pissed off, maybe? What?

I was on the cross-trainer in this gym this weekend when I spied a woman I like who I’ve not seen in awhile. I don’t know her name. I do know I like her. We’re about the same age, the same color and seem to see eye to eye somehow.

I was in the gym today and Connie got on the cross-trainer next to me. Connie is an African woman, a Cancer, in love with a Virgo man who drives her crazy. She likes astrology, or at least this astrologer, I mean.

“How’s the guy?” I asked, knowing she would want to talk. Connie loves to talk, even more than I do. I don’t see her often but when I do we go right to 50mph.

“Driving me crazy,” she said.

I smiled. “Yeah, but you love him, it’s obvious.”
