The soldier on the phone:

“That’s what I love about us, P. I love how we eat. We get eating some Italian food and there is no stoppin’ us. We eat with our fingers all dirty, we just eat and eat until it hits us, we can’t eat anymore.”

I laughed.

“Yeah, so then we lie down on our backs, all full of all this food. We just lie there in the sun like two dogs, with our bellies up. And I love this. I love doing this with you. We eat like a it’s a job, P.”

“Our job is to eat?”

“Yeah. We eat like it’s a job. We sure did a job on that lasagna,” he said. “Now let’s go lay around. There’s nothin’ like it in the world. Me and P eating till our hearts are content and then lying on our backs in the sun. Ah. That was good.”

Do you like your food? Got earth in your chart?

The soldier and I discussing his getting called to the principals office today:

“No, it’s going to be okay. Look, this guy thinks you’re up to something and you’re up to nothing. He’s got this negative projection on you and it’s high time you showed up and took it off. This is from astrology, okay? Your physical presence calms people down. They calm down when you’re around,’ I said. “They can’t help it.”

“Yeah?”

“Yeah, so this guy needs that. He has got to calm down because as it is he’s all freaked. He is making no sense with his thought process but when you go in there your calm physical presence and your logic, which is unimpeachable is going to prevail and he is going to be completely relieved.”

“I hope you’re right, P.”

“I am right. There is not a question here. You’ve done nothing wrong and this guy is going to be completely relieved when he meets you and finds this out. He is going to calm right down and it’ll be a favor for both of you. From now on you’ll be humanized. Having met you in person he is going to know who you are instead of whatever weirdness he is thinking at the moment. He’s going to meet someone who is calm, logical, polite, diligent and hard-working because that is what you are but for some reason he just can’t see this so you are going to have to go in there and show him. Just standing there in the room will do it. Your presence reassures people is what I am saying. They think all kinds of things about you until this happens too… I have done it myself.”

“Yeah.”

“Yeah, so when you leave you’re going to be recognized as credible instead of suspect and that can only improve things for everyone. And from now on when he talks to you… well he’s going to want to talk to you because when he does he will be calmed down. And no more of his current antics for Godsakes. Why ask a person a question 4 times in 4 hours just to hear them answer it in the same way? Obviously this guy is wigged and he has simply got to calm down about you so just go in there and be in the room with him so he can do it. And pay attention so you can witnesses the phenomenon. You’ll see him calm down and it’d be good if you were more aware of this affect you have. People stabilize around you and that is all there is to it.”

It’s another fiery day out there. Yesterday, a few people (I was one of them) complained over the Grand Trine in Fire because it does cause everyone to go, Go, GO. It is sort of like being in a city for two days and trying to see it all… some people are not cut out for this.

And if you can get a sense of this, you can begin to see the downside of a Grand Trine in a chart. It’s so easy to fall into them and then there you are. And the part of your chart (or your life because they represent each other) that would promote growth if you could only get at it, goes begging.

Back to that couple on vacation running to and fro, seeing all the sites. Might their relationship be better served by spending a few days isolated and focused on exploring themselves and each other? But no! The trine is there, so in they fall!

The Moon is conjunct Venus today so there is some sweetness on offer (along with some swagger because we’re talking Leo here). Tomorrow the Moon will be conjunct Saturn, opposite Neptune while the rest of the sky virtually the same, so if you note the difference you’ll be learning astrology.

If you read around about astrology eventually you will come across the idea that Grand Trines cause problems. The idea is that they represent an easy flow of energy and the person can stay in the trine, sort of like lying in a hammock while the grass grows and is never cut… their career or their relationships suffer or whatever else might be shown in the chart, all sort of unbeknownst to them considering how comfortable that hammock is.

So today we still have a grand trine in fire (between Jupiter, Saturn and Mars) so if you get up and go and apply yourself to a goal, you will see easy progress. And the rest of the sky?

Well as long as you stay in this trine, it is not today’s problem and if you are having a stressful day then get in the trine (get moving) and you should see things improve.

I have a high tolerance for risk and also an uncanny ability to absorb and recover from losses, even when they are staggering. I chock this up to the trines from Jupiter in my chart.

And I had a consultation with this gal the other day and I was telling her she was not going to have to worry about money. She had Venus in Pisces (exalted) involved in a Grand Trine with Jupiter (and Uranus as I recall) and money always just seemed to flow to her from somewhere. However she still worried about it! And this is one of the ways astrology can really ease things for a person.

I consider trines in a chart to act like an intravenous feed. You don’t have to do anything to make them work. You can be passive and the stuff in that bag is still going to flow into your arm and provide you with a benefit or nutrients of some kind. And it’s enormously helpful if you can identity which areas of your life are covered like this. So what about you?

How are you gifted? Can you tie this to a trine or Jupiter in your chart?

Dear Girlfriend,

I think you are right about everything and I think your friends are right as well. I will explain that and I will tell you what I would do and what the charts reveal… and after that you’ll have to decide.

Now personally, I would read everything the way you have and I would leave this man. Because I like things very focused. And perhaps it’s my ego too. It’s fine with me if it is. Because I have Venus in Leo and I am just plain not going to be seen screwing some guy who is enthralled with another woman. And you’re a Leo Sun, so I think you can relate to this.

However your friend who says this is “normal” is right. It is normal for him. Your boyfriend has Neptune square his Moon and his Mars, and he going to be leaking and fantasizing all over the place, mostly unbeknownst to him as you’ve witnessed. So can you stand that? Because if you’re with this man, you’re going to have to. And I want to point out one other thing.

It is his chart with all the challenge. You have a lot of ease in your chart and in your life in general, as evidenced by your attitude about all this. You can go or flow anyway you want to pretty much. So this is where you are. If you like it, stay. If you don’t then leave - and either way, I don’t think you’ll have many problems.

So on that last deal, I had a terrific time getting out of that relationship and believe me, this is not my MO. I am as slippery as they come! I am like Houdini with a jet ski waiting outside, but I couldn’t find a way out of that relationship to save my life, up until the time I did. And I don’t know what to tell you besides, I’ve been happy since and I think I’ve learned my lesson.

Because take a look at the composite of my current relationship. (below) See how pretty that is? See all that GREEEEEN. Those are easy aspects. And you know what? I can’t get out of this relationship either.

“Why would you want out?” the other astrologer asked.

Well, I wouldn’t. I’d have to be an insane person to leave the relationship I’m in now. But that doesn’t mean I don’t have freedom urges. It doesn’t mean I don’t notice when I caught in something, even when it’s good! I am me!

But the point I want to make is that a composite chart like this… or the one with the Grand Cross - my experience is they are very hard to get out of…to escape and you can see why. You can see it visually, I mean! You don’t even need to know astrology.

The chart is a map, yes? It is. And in both these cases, well, just look at them. It’s like a closed system! These configurations…the Grand Cross (red square shape for the newbies) in the one chart is closed. And do you know how that feels?

Well look at all the right angles. It feels like riding the Scrambler. Do you know that ride? It jerks you, then jerks you, then jerks you, then jerks you. You go ’round and ’round then ’round, jerk, jerk, jerk at the angles. And this is fun when you’re sixteen! This if fun when you’re twenty one! But you get a little older and you maybe want to vomit less…and that would be me. I am tired of puking.

So please understand if you show up with your Mars square mine and you want to fight and fight and fight …and if I draw a composite and a Grand Cross is starin’ back at me…well, I’m going to walk. ‘Kay, babe?

And regarding the other chart… well the Grand Trine (green triangle) is closed and so is the Mystic Rectangle (rectangle shape). The Kite (looks like a kite) is also closed and this has the same effect. Wherever you go, there is no door! So when you’re in it, you’re in it, but you just don’t get beat up, the way you do with the hard composite.

So this is my experience. And these are obviously extreme examples, but that’s good. Because they manifest in ways that cannot me missed or misinterpreted.
