The Current (Almost) Cardinal Grand Cross… And The Rogue Wave
Ask the collective
The first thing to note about the Cardinal grand cross is it is not a Cardinal grand cross. Mars in Cancer, squares Mercury in Libra, squares Pluto in Capricorn but it is Uranus in Pisces (a Mutable sign) that completes the configuration.
What has happened is we’ve morphed from an “almost” Mutable grand cross to an “almost” Cardinal grand cross and personally, I have felt very fortified since these planets shifted. I’ve reported this on the boards, on facebook and in conversations with friends and a good number of them feel similar so I was thinking about this today.

Living with a Grand Cross, the truth, by Annalisa
Outtakes and various other sundries
I live with a Grand Cross and have all my life. It is in my natal chart and it’s mutable.
Life is simple, really, WATCH MY KARMA.
If I go ANYway, one or the other, or the other, or the other too far off, I’m going to get my butt kicked, it’s that simple. Live life right, reflect, never forget to check yourself and do things right for you, for others, and lastly, for humanity.
I know, this sounds pretty corny and simpleminded.

Transit Watch: Dealing Well With The Mutable / Cardinal Grand Cross - August 18th - 29th
My eye on the sky
This is complex situation as introduced here, Heads Up! I feel it warrants another post.
We have to take this serious because Saturn is involved. Saturn means there will be consequences for any transgression. In contrast those who “do the right thing” even when it’s difficult find themselves supported.
Mars is involved so people are angry. If you anger is misplaced you can expect it to be thrown right back at you one way or the other, courtesy Saturn.

3 Years Ago On The Elsa Blog: Astrology of Relationships: Synastry vs Composite Charts, Mars Square Mars, Grand Crosses and Other Frights: Part Two
Need to catch up? Part one
I had a terrific time getting out of the relationship with the composite grand cross which was unusual because I am as slippery as they come. I am like Houdini with a jet ski waiting when it comes to leaving a relationship but I could not find a way out of that one to save my life, up until the time I did. I don’t know what to say besides I’ve been happy since and I think I’ve learned my lesson.

Astrology Today - Heads Up Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius And Pisces: Mutable Grand Cross Forming Now
My eye on the sky
The Moon in Gemini is now officially squaring Saturn and Uranus forming a T-square. Later it will move into opposition with Pluto and that’ll be that, we’ll have our Mutable Grand Cross.
My sister (also an astrologer) has a mutable grand cross in her chart and having grown up in a bedroom with her I know quite a bit about them.
I actually think you can fair pretty well over the next day or so as the Moon opposes Pluto in Sagittarius for the last time in a 240 year cycle provided you keep talking. Communication… moving around is key.
You don’t want to hole up on this. Get on the phone, get in the car, send someone an email… just don’t let the stuff back up on you and things should go fine.
Open Question: How Do You Handle The Grand Cross In Your Chart?
Ask the collective
Dear Elsa,
Everything I read about a grand cross in a charts is doom and gloom. I’d love to hear from someone who consciously lives with a grand cross pattern.
What type of cross to do they live with? Fixed? Mutable? Cardinal? And what does that feel like in their lives–how do they handle the “tension”?
Investigator
Investigator, I don’t have a grand cross in my chart so fall outside your control group. Hopefully some people will show up… thanks!
Yesterday’s Cardinal Grand Cross - Who Got Beaten Up?
Astrology in real life
Yesterday was tough. The day started at 4 AM and ended for me about 2AM this morning. The soldier didn’t fare much better, his day ended about midnight. He pretty much starved all day due the surgery on his mouth, had to do without pain medication because he was driving (”A little pain never hurt anyone.”) and when he finally got stopped he realized he had a black eye. Turns out he had a bungee cord snap back and hit him in the face. I guess we should count him lucky he’s still got an eye but at the end of the day with his cheek swollen and his shiner, he literally looked beaten.

Astrology and Suffering: Chart With A Grand Cross vs A Chart O’ Trines
Ask the collective
I was talking to my pal and astrologer, Claire France Perez about suffering. She thinks love means suffering and pointed out that I do quite a bit of it.
“I suffer?”
“Yes.”
“Okay, yeah I do,” I said.
And my sister (who has a Grand Cross in her chart) had a theory that the suffering of some allow others to avoid suffering. She was specifically talking about people with difficult charts like hers in comparison to people with charts full of trines.
I just stared at the time, but have come to agree with her. What about you?
Does one person’s suffering ease another’s?
Ever been on a Scrambler? This is what the mutable Grand Cross feels like. Or you could stand next to my sister who has one of these in her chart. Angle to angle to angle to angle in a jarring square pattern.
goddess asked, “When does this Grand Cross chill?”
Answer: Mid September
Astrology and Children: Sun Conjunct Saturn @ 8 Years Old With A Grand Cross In His Solar Return - Psychic Ability and Traumatic Babyhood
Astrology in Real Life
My son has a grand cross in his solar return this year and has really been under the gun. He surprised me last night when he said, “Ever since my birthday…”
He went on to explain how particularly hard things have been since he turned 8 and all I could do was nod and commiserate because facts are facts. He then surprised me by telling me he had been having prophetic dreams.
He said he dreams something and two days later the things happens. He expressed a sort of ambivalence over the situation. On one hand I think he knows this is special, on the other hand most of the things he is dreaming that wind up happening are bad. Pretty heavy for an 8 year old, I’d say.
