I finished reading James Braha’s “Living Reality: My Extraordinary Summer With Sailor” Bob Adamson” on Advaita also known as non-duality some months ago. I intended to review it but between the ethereal subject and Braha’s own nature and writing style, I’ve found it impossible to adopt a detached view of his work in a detached way and write a proper review.

Edgar Cayce came up when cj wrote on the Confused Control Freak blog:

Edgar Cayce slept on his books as a boy and learned his schoolwork that way. He quit after awhile, I forget why, probably thought it was cheating or something.

I looked for this because I wanted to see if he had a Saturn Neptune exchange and he does. He has Saturn in Pisces (Neptune’s sign) conjunct Mercury so the idea he could learn and absorb information via magic is no stretch at all.

And the reason I wanted to check this is because I know that people learn astrology from me and it’s something that just happens. I can’t count how many people have told me they stumbled on my blog (I have kept one since 2001) and contacted me with these type stories….

“At first I thought you were crazy but then…”

“I used to read because I hated your guts but then…”

“Well I liked your stories but I couldn’t stand that you put astrology in them but then…”

All these people wound up learning astrology as does everyone I meet in real life. They don’t intend to. As a matter of fact most the people I meet in real life are dead set against astrology but a year or two down the road the words have become part of their vernacular and they are really quite shocked.

So I am a Saturn Neptune type and I think this is why this happens. Sit next to me and unbeknownst to you, you’ll learn what I know. I will also learn what you know by the way. It’s very cool.

cj - Yeah, gotcha on Cayce. I have heard of that. And see, this woman writes about how everyone and everything is “backwards”. People are constantly approaching her… backwards. Ha ha ha. She goes on and on about this “backwards approach”. I would love to see her chart!! I bet it’s a trainwreck. I am telling you, this woman’s wires are askew.

I feel like she wrote this book while standing on her head so if I want to access it, I need to do something extra special and tricky myself! Then and only then will it start make sense.

It’s like the Grateful Dead. I heard about the Grateful Dead all my life… finally went to one of their shows with my first husband, a total Deadhead. Looking around, I wondered what the big deal was. Bunch of plain dudes with guitars… Jerry Garcia tapping his foot.

But the next time I went, I ate some acid… and all the sudden it made sense to me!

But anyway, as I wrote in the response to Melody’s comment on the other blog, if you check the reviews of this book on Amazon, you’ll get the picture fairly quickly. Half the people think she is genius, the other half think she needs a straitjacket. There’s your Neptune, yes?

And Melody, I absolutely can see the high side of this book (I have Libra!!). It’s another reason I would l love to see the author’s chart. It is very apparent to me she’s got her whatzit on my whozit. Either that or she has a voodoo doll of my likeness and a stack of pins.
