Astrology In Real Life: Aquarius Married to Aquarius - The Blue Streak

Astrology in real life

Aquarius horoscope fabricMy parents are both Aquarians. My mother is a double Aquarius and my father is also Aquarius with four planets and his n. node in the sign. That’s a lot of Aquarius!

I wrote this in 2002. HQ wanted this in my book but after much debate, it got cut. It was a story in the middle of a story and while I used to write like this, Saturn came along and forced structure and discipline.

Anyway in this bit, I’m visiting my sister and her husband who I never liked all that much. Consequently, I call him XXXXX in my stories. See? No name for him! (Well, except for Aries Bunny) I’m not even consistent around how many X’s I give him, but anyway one day we were sitting around telling stories and the Blue Streak came up.

“W” is my father and you can see my affinity with courts is inherited…

Popularity, Football, Lipstick And The Venus Uranus Quirk Around Here

Astrology in real life

crooked_large.jpgPeople have been remarking and in some cases complaining about my crooked lipstick for about 20 years which is about how long I have been wearing lipstick. I thought I had this resolved for the most part a few years back. The AMF said I was cured for example and I should no longer be mentioning it on my (other) blog so I thought that was that. But apparently not. Apparently I am still askew because last night the soldier mentioned this.

The soldier this is, who has not got a fashion conscious bone in his body. The soldier who states he has been wearing the same clothes since he was 12 years old and says that he sees no problem with this.

“Yeah, I see you like that sometimes and I laugh about it on my way to work. That’s my, P!” he said brightly.

On Becoming An Eccentric, Unique Person: Do Relationships Interfere?

Ask the collective…

sunshine sunJames Hollis writes in Creating a Life: Finding Your Individual Path:

“If one does not become the eccentric, unique, one-of-a-kind person he or she was meant to be, then a violation of some large purpose of the cosmos has occurred. Individuation is not self-absorption, narcissism or self-interest. On the contrary, individuation is a humbling task to serve what our deepest nature asks of us. For some it will be a path which brings public recognition, for others suffering and public calumny, for others still, private epiphanies never seen by anyone else. Any relationship which prevents or inhibits such a vocation is harmful and regressive.’

Do you agree with him? Where is your Sun?

Trouble Making Friends: Advice On Being a Complex Person In This World - Part One

Dear Elsa,

I am a Scorpio and I often make friends easily. But after a while, I become emotionally attached and they start to detach… or they don’t respond at all to me. Is it me?

I can also be quite demanding when they don’t give me what I need in a friendship. Do I pick the wrong friends? If so, how do I know who the right friend will be? Because I know that I am a very loyal and nurturing friend. Please help…

Teenager Struggling

blown away audiophileDear Teenager,

You’re very smart to have picked up on this pattern at such a young age. And no. I don’t think you are picking the wrong friends. You are choosing the people who will best facilitate your growth, provided you do exactly what you are doing. Examine it, that is.

Now the way it works, what all of us do, is pick people who are living various parts of our natures that are unconscious, or otherwise unexpressed. And I’ll give you an example.

Some years ago, I married a guy who lived in a shack with a $50,000 stereo. He was an obvious “eccentric” and I thought I was very plain and normal.

But wait a minute! Isn’t any woman who marries a Shack Man just a tad eccentric herself? Eureka! What an awakening when I figured this out. All my friends are crazy! Jeez. Might I be crazy too? Duh.

So in your case, you’ve got several things working here. Major parts of your personality that you need to understand, accept and integrate. And I suspect you have limited awareness of them so what I’m going to do is come back tomorrow and outline this for you. I’m just going to turn all the lights on and with your basic nature more fully in your conscious awareness, I have no doubt you will see radical change in your relationship patterns.

To be continued.

skip to part two.

About Aquarius / Aquarius Moon: How Do They Party and What Do They Say?

Just Blathering…

adobe house buildingYesterday the AMF said, “You grew up in a mud house.” He reminds me of this now and then. And he’s right. I did grow up in a mud house and certain things have resulted from that. Things his Aquarius Moon can deal with.

Now someone with a Libra Moon or a Leo Moon or a Capricorn Moon may have a very hard time coping with a mud-house-girlfriend, but to an Aquarius Moon it’s sort of an enhancement. And this is nice for me, you can imagine.

Have you ever been to an Aquarian’s party? I have. They tend to invite a menagerie of people. People whose paths wouldn’t necessarily cross. People from different classes, different races, different backgrounds, or whatever. Put ‘em all in a pot and stir. Let’s see…

An Italian single-mother-astrologer, with a set designer, with a schizophrenic painter, a trust fund baby, the homeless person they met last week, a photographer, the CEO of some large corporation, their sister’s ex-husband, and the woman down the street who has seventeen cats. There! Dinner is served!

And this reminds me of another thing I was going to say. I have been thinking about posting various non-celebrity quotes. And I have one from my (Aquarian) parents. They told me repeatedly when I was growing up, that it was a sin to bore people. So now, I’m telling you.

And you can judge the value of that if you like. I don’t think I ever have.

*pictured, my grandfather, Henry building an adobe house by himself. He’s about 70 years old there, a double Capricorn with a stellium in Sagittarius. He believed it in a person’s spiritual best interest to work sun up to sundown, so he did.

Conversations With Ben - Eccentricity

Just Blathering…

celloBen is half-white/ half-black, and a gay cello player and teacher. We have been very close friends for twenty years. He’s a Scorpio, with an Aquarius rising and an Aries Moon.

He has taught cello in the local school system for almost twenty years… barefoot. He plays with various symphony orchestras, same way. Barefoot.

I dialed him up one night.

Briiinnnnng! Briiinnnng!

“Hello?”

“How are you, Ben?”

“Okay, Elsa. Except someone called me eccentric, today.”

Aquarius is known for being eccentric. “Yeah?” I asked.

“Yes! And it made me mad so I confronted her. I told her I was not eccentric. If you ask me, she’s the eccentric one! If anyone is eccentric, it’s her! Everyone is eccentric, I told her. What about your quirks? I asked. I bet you have some quirks of your own! We’ve all got them, so don’t tell me that I’m eccentric. I am no more eccentric or odd than you are, so how dare you call me eccentric!”

“You explained that to her?”

“I did. And she didn’t like it. But I bet she thinks twice the next time she plans on calling someone eccentric. And she should! Because it’s hardly a compliment!”

“It’s not?”

“No! They are calling you weird. I’m not weird and I don’t need anyone telling me that I am! I am no more weird than anyone else, and besides that, it’s just a stupid thing to say. How can you single someone out and call them eccentric when everyone in this world is eccentric? Everyone has a quirk! Find me someone who doesn’t!”

“Gotcha. I get it now, thank you.” That’s my Libra, taking to his aggressive Aries Moon.

“You’re welcome. But enough about me. Enough about her. How are you doing?”
