“You’re slimmin’ right down,” I told the soldier. “Look at you.”

“Yeah, right. Slimmin’ down. That’s why China called. Hey can you reduce your portions some so some of our people can have something to eat?”

I roared.

“Europe called too. Hey can you do something about that belly? You’re blocking the sun over here. You’re messing up our sciencitists. They thought there was an ecclipse!”

More laughing.

“And how come when I wear red, all the kids yell KOOOOL-AID, huh?”

Saturn is in Virgo and everyone is feeling pressured to control their diets… some more than others. The soldier has the double whammy (Saturn in Virgo transiting the 6th house) so he is particularly affected.

Saturn transits force change in a slow and steady manner and we started working on his diet some months ago. It’s been successful. He was on medication and on the verge of diabetes.

His current blood work is much improved and it’s a relief seeing as he has had a family member suffer amputation due diabetes. He is now on a lessor medication but he would like to avoid all consequences of this condition if possible so further adjustments are on the horizon.

Regarding government (Saturn) controls on diet (Virgo), the soldier and I have been talking about this non-stop. As I mentioned in the comments of the last blog on this subject he told me this was going to happen about 6 months ago. I thought he was out of his mind but then this from HB-282:

(2) Any food establishment to which this section applies shall not be allowed to serve food to any person who is obese, based on criteria prescribed by the State Department of Health after consultation with the Mississippi Council on Obesity Prevention and Management established under Section 41-101-1 or its successor. The State Department of Health shall prepare written materials that describe and explain the criteria for determining whether a person is obese, and shall provide those materials to all food establishments to which this section applies…”

And don’t think for a minute this does not mean you. This is the soldier’s experience with government fat tests. I would estimate him at 10-12% body fat and that is now…

“AN ACT TO PROHIBIT CERTAIN FOOD ESTABLISHMENTS FROM SERVING FOOD TO ANY PERSON WHO IS OBESE, BASED ON CRITERIA PRESCRIBED BY THE STATE…”

I was leaving the gym today, hair wet with a heavy bag slung over my shoulder. I came up in the corridor behind a man I see around sometimes, he’s African.

“I’m a speeder,” I said passing him on the left without breaking stride.

“How are you doing?” he asked as I passed.

“Good, what about you?”

“Good too. Sure wish they’d clean this place though. Especially the pool area. It’s nasty.”

Past him now, hitting the door,I looked over my shoulder. “I never go in there and hearing that, I’m glad,” I said.

Standing behind me now I saw him look down at my ass. “You’re losing your weight back,” he said. “For awhile there you had started to swell up. Looked like you were on steroids or something.”

I smiled then glanced over my shoulder at him. “I was eating cookies,” I said. “Bags of them at at a time.”

On that I turned back and headed to my car.

I figure this guy is some mixture of Virgo and Sagittarius. Virgo because of the cleanliness and attention to detail. Sadge because of his big mouth. I can’t say this bothered me though. I will be steering clear of cookies today, you know?

Also another indication of Neptune on the midheaven. People think I am on drugs!

Sagittarians and others with Jupiter prominent are always threating to expand. Jesse and I were on each on a crosstrainer…

“I keep eating cookies by the bag, Jesse. The bagog. I eat a whole bag of cookies.”

He laughed loudly, he always does.

“Yeah, it’s those mini oreos doing me in.”

“I like the Vanilla Wafers,” he said looking down at his stomach. “Love those things.”

“Yeah, well I eat the whole bag. A whole bag of cookies and then I sit there all grinning. I can feel the sugar all over my teeth. Whole mouth full of sugar and I’m all hopped up like a kid all smiling over the cookies I’ve just had. You know when you’re a kid and you’ve just had a bunch of sugar? It does make you smile but now look at me. What should I do, do you think? How can I stop eating cookies, what can I do?”

“Keep working out, Elsa. I guess you better just stay on the crosstrainer for the rest of your life.”

“You too,’ I said. “We need 8 days in a week to undo all the damage.”

“I know it. Don’t think I don’t know it,” he said, laughing like Santa Claus.

On that, we both shook our heads and went back to the task at hand.

Have you changed your diet since Saturn entered Virgo in September 2007?

I am on day 5 of my streak and having no trouble maintaining and thought it might be worthwhile to point out how powerful it is when you are able to identify the patterns in your life an circumvent the phenomena termed repetition compulsion

When I was in my teens I got fat eating and eating and eating with the soldier (a Taurus). See, I had never had access to unlimited food in my life so I had no concept you could eat too much and have things happen. This was out of my realm. So I did gain about 50 pounds before noticing (Venus Neptune) and refused to marry the soldier shortly after realizing this.

“I know you’re going to complain about the food,” I said, on the phone last night. “There is too much food.”

“Well, P, I am not going to complain. But I have enough food here to feed the Chinese army. If they show up hungry, I’m going to tell ‘em no problem. I can feed you guys. Here, eat! Have some of this!”

“Yeah, yeah.”

“Well I admit, sometimes I do wonder what could P have been thinking?”

“I am thinking this: Every time you say you’re hungry, I go to the store and get some food. It’s my nature! You’re hungry, I will feed you. And it makes no difference anyway because no matter what, you’ll complain.”

“I do?”

“Yeah. If I were to bring you a whole chocolate cake you say, blah, blah. The Chinese army. But then you eat the whole thing and call me up to say, P! P, I’m out of cake. I’m out of cake here. Boy, I wish I had some of that good cake you brought me that time!”

He laughed.

“Yeah, so hearing that, I go to the store and get you some cake. And if I don’t see you for awhile, those cakes stack up, I admit. But there is no way to win. You’re either going to be starving or fed and you’re going to complain either way so who cares? Eat the cake or not, I don’t care. It’s not like I’m going to check on you! Did you eat that cake? I could care less. I only care you have the choice and you say, P! You’re trying to kill me with all this food!” I wailed. “Next day you tell me, oh, P. You must love me. Look at this food you got me. So as you can see, you are crazy. This is irresolvable - End of story.”
