Astrology And Defense Systems: Nick Lowe’s “Stick It Where The Sun Don’t Shine!”

sunny sunEarlier we had the John Prine’s musical defense against a bitching spouse and here is a Nick Lowe version: “Stick It Where The Sun Don’t Shine.”

It is impossible to sing this song and not feel greeeeat! Mars Mercury loves this one because the gal here has a big mouth. She specifically has “a tongue like a knife” that makes “rotten racket”. It’s a bunch of “prittle pattle” that sound like a “death rattle” and best of all is the freedom -

Astrology And Your Psychological Defense System

Ask the collective

defense-grid.jpgmax writes on the Defending Denial blog:

“Not snooping seems reasonable; I try to practice that myself (as part of the Golden Rule), but sometimes the alarm is triggered and the defense grid goes up.”

max
[’Woot.’]

I read that and realized in the same circumstance my defense grid goes down, in effect flooding the person.

It is a Saturn Neptune defense.

What does your “defense grid” look like, how does it function? Where is Saturn in your chart?

“It’s Like Talking Into A Fan…” Type 2 - The Super Defensive

fanYou know those people who you can’t talk to? The people you can’t converse with or transfer information to for whatever reason? We are calling them “fans” on this blog because when you meet someone like this and try to talk to them, your words are blown back to you in little bits. The fan person can just not take anything in so you are in fact completely wasting your time when you talk to them. Continuing to outline the various types as promised:

People who are super defensive are also fans. People with an attitude or an agenda to defend. And it can be as stupid as a person who identifies themselves as a cookie eater. They looooove cookies.

Open Question: Must You Fight To Have Peace?

Ask the collective

pisces ringDear Elsa,

I’ve read a lot of books on spirituality and find that there’s a lot of passivity that comes with this whole idea around new age spiritualism. There’s a lot of “be the bigger person” and “everything is a mirror to teach you something” which are really “turn the other cheek” re-written and delivered with a peace sign and stick of incense;-)

Astrology, Saturn and Capricorn: Control, Defense, Reality, Haplessness, Take Your Pick

Astrology in real life

teflon frying panHave you ever noticed some people manage to avoid responsibility for everything while others are hyper-responsible? My friend, Ben calls the former, “Teflon People” because nothing sticks to them. They didn’t do it, it was the other guy. Even if they did do it, they still didn’t do it because it was the other guy who maaaaade them do it.

As for the hyper-responsible, they think everything is their fault. “If I had not done, x, y or z… if I had not combed my hair this morning, then none of this would have happened.”

Oddly enough I think both extremes are found among strong Saturn or Capricorn types. You think of Capricorn as being responsible but Capricorn is famous for having a strong defense and for controlling situations. So if Capricorn wants to defend against reality this poses no problem at all and history is replete with examples of this.

Do you fit one of these types? What are your observations around this?

Eavesdrop On Conversation At Breakfast With Two 8th House Types: The Usual Subjects - Rape, Murder, Torture

Astrology in real life…

8th houseBreakfast this morning. We were talking about I don’t know what. Death and murder, I guess. 8th house subjects.

“Well most people never go to that edge,” he said. “But I’ve been there and I am telling you when you get all the way out there, self preservation kicks in.”

“I don’t know if I agree. If that’s true, then what about these women who don’t fight a rapist? Why doesn’t their self preservation kick in? They just get raped.”

“It does kick in but it’s too late. It does kick in but they wait too long. They wait until the guy is on top them, he’s got her pinned and when he starts choking her… now he’s going to kill her, then it kicks in but by then it’s too late. She’s thinking I’ll just let him do this and it will be all right. But then he starts choking her and she starts fighting at that point. And he gets his jollies from that and then she gets killed. And this is what the military trains you for. To self-preserve in time. You have to have that instinct kick in while there is still something you can do.”

We discussed suicide in relation to this rule and later, this:

“What about a guy who remains defiant while he is tortured to death?” I asked. “I know for a fact this happens.”

“It does happen. Yeah, that can happen.”

“So how does he break the rule? Why doesn’t his self preservation kick in?” I asked.

“Because it’s different. That’s a guy who is going to fight. That’s a fight to the death.”

I could not argue with any of this. You?
