Dracula the Scorpio was an actor who lived in the artist section of the city, on the top floor of his building (the 13th floor). Scorpio doesn’t like to live under people; they prefer a high perch. This morning a gal asked if a relationship was doomed if the first date took place during a Mercury retrograde. I think we all agreed this was not the case. She also said she had not mentioned astrology this man and I got to thinking, what if she had?

If you met someone and they told you they did not want to go out with you until the planet Mercury was direct, how would you respond? Because I am a life-long astrologer and if someone told me that, I would tell them to go jump in a lake!

Seriously, I would end the budding relationship right then and there because who wants a man who is going to let a little planet get in their way.

Written about five years ago… I am about 28 years old here and I was dating ’round the zodiac.

He was a Gemini with a Leo rising and an Aries Moon. We were another match made in hell, but he had Mars in Leo conjunct my Venus - which makes for a sexual phenomena. So we both hung in longer than we would have otherwise. Someone told me a long time ago to “get it while you can”, and I took them very seriously.

One of the things about dating a Gemini is they look around a lot on a date. This is while you’re talking, I mean. Don’t be confused: they’re looking for someone more interesting than you and you shouldn’t take it personally, because it has nothing to do with you. Even if you are the most interesting person on the planet, they’ll still need to check every minute to make sure. It’s your job not to smack them or get emotional about this, sheesh.

I’ve been doing internet dating for the last couple of months and finding that I am really enjoying it and meeting some nice guys. At any rate, I don’t usually initiate contact with guys online; I wait for the guys to contact me. But I really liked one guy and so dropped him a line, which got the ball rolling.

I’m really glad I did initiate with him, because he’s not all aggressive and player-y and he seems to be someone I might actually like to be in a relationship with but here’s the rub: We are meeting for the first time in person this Thursday - right after mercury retrograde has started. I haven’t discussed astrology with him and don’t feel comfortable putting off the meeting for another three weeks on that basis.

Any advice about how to handle this? I’m not quick to the sex part, so that isn’t an issue, but what about a first kiss during mercury retrograde? Is this doomed by bad timing?

Dating, although like you I would note Mercury retrograde, I would never ever postpone a date on account of it. For one thing, dating is not a Mercury-ruled thing.  Plans may go awry, someone may be late but something like that will never stop love.

I say, swear off gloom and doom astrology and go have the time of your life!

Check out the comments, I feel spectacularly naive. I have been on these sites and didn’t lie which is something considering I have Venus square Neptune, known to deceive! However, there is some difference between lying and not mentioning, right?

The Pisces and the Scorpio Collide

The Pisces picked up. He knew I’d been dating the Scorpio. Since he was doing whatever he was doing and he wasn’t doing me, I’d moved along. He had his process which was nebulous but he still called me a couple or three times a week. We talked astrology by now so I told him about this guy’s fancy dick, Pluto and my blown pipes.

Well I never did sleep with that Pisces. I don’t remember exactly why. I think he said he was scared of me. That and he was trying to enter relationships slowly because of AA or something. See, I don’t remember because it was a Neptune transit but I do know there was no sex and it was his call.

He told me he loved me but I didn’t believe him. I continued to talk to him on the phone though. I thought he was interesting. Actually he was interesting. He was unusual and I liked that. He wasn’t an inch thick and I liked that as well. But I didn’t know what to make of his “I love you” in this situation. He drug his feet for reason non-specific, and meantime I met a double Scorpio.
