That Libra North Node Ballroom Dancing Stuff Only Goes So Far…

Astrology in real life

ballroom dancing“Yeah, we’ll be at some ball somewhere and some bastard will come up and try to cut in,” the soldier said.

“Yeah?”

“Yeah and that’s when I kill the motherfucker. What the fuck do you think you’re doin’ I’ll ask him? You think you’re gonna dance with her? You’re not dancing with her,” he said, sounding very Italian. “Do I look like the sort of motherfucker you can cut in on?”

I snorted.

“You best get out of here while you can still walk you asshole and don’t think for one second I won’t rip that tuxedo cummerbund motherfucker right off your waist and wrap it around your neck because I will do exactly that.”

“Tuxedo cummerbund motherfucker? Some manners you’ve got.”

“Yeah, manners. I’ll tell ‘em, me and P? We will clear this fuckin’ dance floor for you if you want so you best move your sorry ass along and do your cutting in on some other man. One less likely to kill you for even thinking you can dance with his girl. Yeah P. There is only going to be one name on your dance card - mine!”

Mars speaks. P snorts.

A Soldier Learns To Ballroom Dance…. Aries South Node Moves Toward Libra North Node

Astrology in real life

ballroom dancing“Yeah, I’ll go to a ball with you.” I said.”

“Great. It’s a date. Will you wear puffed sleeves?” he asked, referencing Anne of Green Gables.

“Sure.”

“Okay. I am going to have to really work at this though.” the soldier said. “I will have to get over my rhinoceros-ness.”

“Really?”

“Well yeah. You have to glide around. You have to be graceful. I’m not graceful.”

Libra, I thought. “Oh!,” I said. “Yeah, we really should do this. It’s Libra… your north node. You are supposed to be learning all these things, love and grace and relationships,” I said. “I have told you about this. We should definitely take lessons, it’s the right direction for you.”

Aquarius And Pisces - An Interesting Combo With Endless Possibilities

Astrology in real life

ballroom dancingVenus tied up with Neptune, other planets in Aquarius as well as the Sun conjunct Uranus in Pisces favor escape through music, imagination and art, that’s the Pisces/Neptune side. Uranus/Aquarius begs for surprise and innovation and you get stuff like this:

“I’d like to learn that,” the soldier said pointing at the TV. “I’d like to learn to ballroom dance, we should take some lessons.”

“Really? I’ll take lessons with you.”

“You will? Okay! First we’ll take lessons and learn to ballroom dance and then I would like to actually go to a ballllll,” he said. “I want to go to a real ball and dance at it.”

I snorted. “Where are we going to find a ball?”

“I don’t know. I guess someone will have to throw one and we’ll have to be invited.”

I didn’t answer because I know us. If we learn to ballroom dance we will find ourselves a ball one way or the other.

I think that preparing for the life you want goes a long way towards manifesting it. You?

Outtakes and various other sundries

Never mind the poor lighting. These girls are a kick in the pants. Apparently they were standing in line at Disneyland and came up with this. I like the leader girl… Cardinal sign, ya think?

I also just like kids who know some astrology. What a great start in life, never mind they are dancing. Enjoy this minute of happiness!

Saturn In Aspect To Mars - Upside Redux - Christopher Walken, Rambo and the Ballet

Commenting on the comments…

mars godDharmaruci writes on the Upside To Saturn in Aspect to Mars blog:

I wouldn’t know, but people who are skilled fighters don’t have so much to prove, they’re not so touchy and insecure physically, so they’re less likely to let fly without good reason?

DR - that might be true. It probably depends on the person. My point was that I don’t have skills to fight and defend myself so when there is a threat I am at risk. But if the soldier (or someone like him) who has mastered (Saturn) their fighting skills (Mars) is on hand and willing to do my fighting for me (Mars is a hero)… and I will be very grateful as in “Whew! That was a close call!”

It is sort of like having Superman on hand to save the day. This was his actual career. He spent his life (until they made him quit) going after the baddest of the bad… the people no one wants to mess with, and messing with them so people like me would never have to encounter them and the people who were suffering due their tyranny were liberated. And how someone extrapolates from that and decides they are at risk when he is around it the big mystery.

christopher walkenAs for the astrology, I meant to illustrate that Saturn and Mars in aspect have a high expression. The soldier got his skills via oppression and training that was grueling. It took him years and years and years and years. Years beyond what is typical.

For example, these days they take people in to Special Forces right off the street. You used to have to have some time in the Army. But when he went in, he didn’t just go right in. He had to go into three arms of the service and through three different boot camps, just to get to the Army and then try to get in SF.

Once in, he continued to train the whole time (16 years) including going through training in other countries… their version of Special Forces and after all that what does he wind up? A maniac? That’s ridiculous.

It reminds me of something Christopher Walken said. He plays all those crazies, right? So they asked him in an interview if he were a nut and he explained he had been married for thirty years (forty now), something a crazy person could never manage. So this idea about him is a myth and it’s same with the soldier. If he were anything but ultra-controlled he’d have been dead a long time ago.

In fact Christopher Walken is another good example in that he is a classically trained ballet dancer. So imagine someone who trains ballet for twenty years. What are the chances they are going to walk around slouched? Not very high.

Bottom line RAMBO was a movie! ;-)

Violence In Society: Is Ballet Dependent On Football? VA Tech and the Indiana Prison Riot

Ask the Collective

balletThe other day the soldier was in a flatbed semi loaded with steel. He thought he might have a motorcycle gang chasing him and was very thrilled with the prospect.

Now you couldn’t make up a more male (Mars) scenario and while it might make some uncomfortable, fact is the soldier likes to fight. And I don’t judge this. I know that violence exists in our world and in fact it erupts whether you like it or not.

It erupted a VA Tech last week and it erupted yesterday with the massive prison riot in Indiana, USA. Violence can erupt anywhere. It can erupt at a soccer game, it can erupt in your home and it can even erupt at your wedding as some unlucky brides could tell you.

So I wonder if these types who like to fight don’t serve the peaceful when they fight each other because the violence exists and it will find expression. Boxing… races, football, same thing. These are violent sports.

Do you think it’s possible a person can attend the ballet or the symphony in peace because the violence is erupting at the roller derby down the street?

Leonard Cohen Redux - Astrology, Storytelling, Dance, Movie-making, the Dissecting Art: Virgo / Pisces Polarity

Commenting on the comments…

balletSilverfoot left this great comment on the blog about the film, “Ladies and Gentlemen… Mr. Leonard Cohen” : “…watched it in Documentary film class last year. and I am a big Cohen fan, but even taking my bias into account, that film is brilliant. So much of it is set up in a kind of candid camera style, like the cameraman is just recording the events as they happen, but then they let Cohen subvert that, and reveal the constructed nature of documentary film.

So for me, it was the “CAVEAT EMPTOR” bit that really grabbed me. His need to be a double agent working for the audience, to show them the film is not entirely ‘devoid of the con.’ There’s something vaguely Virgo/Neptune going on there…needing to be upfront with the ‘truth,’ but doing it stylishly.”

Silverfoot, my sister is a Pisces and a dancer / choreographer. And she explained once how difficult and frustrating it was to work so hard to make something magic (a dance) only to have Virgo come along and point the strings that hold up the puppets.

“I saw a wire in Act 2,” says Virgo. “That’s how they did that.”

And the whole illusion Pisces has worked so hard to create is now kaput! “It’s ruined by the Virgo,” she said. And I have experienced the same thing with my storytelling. Dance Instructor Tangos With Charismatic Sexy Man: Venus in Aquarius Opposite Saturn In Leo

Dear Elsa,

I’m a tango instructor and I’ve been dating a fellow dancer for 6 months now. I told myself that I would never enter a relationship with one of these male dancers that frequent my club, and I still ended up breaking my rule.

Argentine men, especially the men that frequent milongas, are notoriously promiscuous. When I met this guy, the chemistry was so intense and so authentic that I felt it wasn’t just a 3 minute dance floor illusion. However, now I’m not sure. He used to be so attentive to me and now he flirts with every woman within arms length. I don’t know if he does this to boost his ego, but it’s getting to the point where I can’t stand it! I mean I don’t mind moderate flirting, but it’s so in your face and obvious that my friends have even started to notice.

He says he loves me and he has been in many long-term relationships, but this one is the most intense he’s ever had. He said that life is about sharing - but when I brought up the idea of moving in together, he went silent. He says he looks forward to being with someone he loves, but then he doesn’t call for a week. Then the week after, he calls incessantly.

What the hell is going on? I don’t know if this relationship is heading anywhere. I’m in no hurry to rush to the altar, but is this guy commitment phobic? Is he just some illusion?

I get the sense he is chasing some ideal—and as a woman I don’t feel like I can measure up to his ideal. It’s exhausting and mentally draining for me. I’ve always been a head-strong/independent woman, but around this man, I turn into a blabbering school girl who can no longer stand up for herself.

Is there any indication in his chart for such behavior or am I just imagining things? Perhaps he’s not fickle but I am, and I’m just projecting on him.

Help!

In A Tango
Argentina

tango argentinaDear Tango,

Help is on the way! I think you are in love with an Argentine man, don’t you? And this is his bigger than life personality, which I think goes along with your bigger than life personality in many ways. But I feel for you in your confusion so will try to clarify some of this.

First, culture aside, your man has Venus and his Moon in Leo and there is a certain amount of attention, adoration and appreciation he neeeeeeds to feel good. Is it for his ego? Of course! ::smiles:: But so? It comes with the territory, don’t you think? You want a flashy man, don’t you? One who is smokin’?

I think you do, but here’s the thing. You have Saturn in Leo and he is triggering your insecurities. So you can dump him but I think it would be a cop-out. You have Venus in Aquarius opposing Saturn and you are capable of looking at this in a mature and detached fashion. He needs attention, so he’s getting it. But is he in love with you? He probably is. So this leaves you work with your feelings of unworthiness, and I’ll tell you how you can do that.

You can resolve this by discovering (or rediscovering) your real value. He’s a peacock? So what? You’re a peacock and a half!

He’s got this sexual undertow? Well he does, but no more than you!!

You get the idea. This guy can actually dance with you. And as an instructor, you are used to having the upper hand. But this situation is actually ideal and here’s a story I think will help…

My sister is a dancer and she also teaches dance. And some years ago, she was teaching these kids, and she was going to dance a couple of the numbers in their show. And there was one kid, a boy, who could really dance. He had some mojo and she featured him of course and also invested a lot of herself in teaching him.

So I came in for the performances and was watching dress rehearsal. Here’s the conversation I had with my sister later that evening.

“That kid is showing you up,” I said.

“What?”

“I don’t know. It just doesn’t look right. It’s like he’s trying to upstage you. He wants to be seen for sure.”

“Well that little bastard! He’s not supposed to be doing that.”

“Well he is. And it looks funny. It looks funky from the audience, he’s messing up the show.”

“I know exactly what he’s doing,” she said. She explained the mechanics. How one dancer can do this to another, or the rest of the dancers on the stage. “Well, just watch what I do to him,” she said. “Watch the next show…”

Next show she came out on that stage with this kid and she danced him into the ground. As she put it, “she danced on his little head,” which I think was a penis reference. ::smiles::: The kid quit messing with her at that point and this is what you can do… but you must find your confidence and your carriage. Get your prowess and your power back. Dance on this guy’s head and make him respect you. Get it? Be more. Rise to this occasion, because I really don’t think you want a lesser man.

Good luck.

Arie, the Shopping Special Forces Ballerina Cop: Stellium in Aquarius, Scorpio Moon

Astrology in Real Life…

aquarius recordI was talking to a pal about Arie, maybe you remember him. He’s the genius ex- Special Forces soldier I knew briefly. I will probably know him again, briefly because I liked Arie quite a bit, his psycho-ness aside, because he was unique and entertaining.

So I’m sure I’ll rattle his cage again at some point and when I do, he will probably respond because he liked me quite a bit, my psycho-ness aside, because I was unique and entertained. Continue reading Arie, the Shopping Special Forces Ballerina Cop: Stellium in Aquarius, Scorpio Moon
