Love and Money: Venus in the 8th House - Astrology-Based Advice
Dear Elsa,
I have been dating a man for four years now. He has been very supportive of me emotionally at a time when I especially needed someone to make me feel loved and accepted. He is very focused on me, watching me all the time and telling me he wants to take care of me. He sometimes complains that my mood is not what is called for; i.e., I am not romantic enough or focused enough on him. His ultimate ambition is a successful relationship with his woman.
I’ve had the experience of a long-term relationship with a man who was emotionally distant and I was miserable, so I know the value of finding a man who wants to be emotionally close. The problem is finances. He has a good job, but he never has really aspired to anything more than just a job. He also has a lot of debt from his first marriage. I’ve worked hard to gain a post-graduate degree and have taken some risks that have enabled me to make more money.
One of my priorities in a marriage is that we be able to attain an above average standard of living. I fear that I would be settling for something less than that if I were to marry this man. And yet, I know that money does not make happiness.
We are both in our forties and he is a Libra. What do you think?
Unsure
Dear Unsure,
I think I can make this very simple for you, so I’m going to do that first and then I’m going to make this hard. Here is the simple solution: Leave him! Could you do it? I’m guessin’ you’d be cryin’ for this guy within a week and crying even harder six months down the road.

Astrology, Recession, Correction, Politics, Oil, Gold And The Dollar: Pluto In Capricorn… Saturn In Virgo
Astrology in real life
I was talking to the soldier the other day or rather he was talking to me about politics and he asked what I thought about something.”I don’t know. I don’t think about that stuff at all. I don’t listen to any of it, I don’t think it matters.”
Silence.
“Well I don’t. I don’t care what Obama said. I don’t care what Hilary thought or what some talking head is saying on the news tonight. I don’t track any of that; I don’t think it’s real. Do you think it’s real?”
No answer.
“Look, I’m sorry. I know you watch this stuff like a hawk but I do not. I watch things that are real. I watch the dollar for example. I watch the price of gold. I watch the price of oil for Godsakes! I see it’s going to break $100 a barrel and that’s supposed to be a big deal? Well now it’s at $112 and I know the effects of this first hand. I worked for Frito Lay for years. I know what happens when the price of gas goes up. I told you I saw 12 flour tortillas priced at $4.65 in the store last week. How are people supposed to pay $5 for a stack of flour and water? Tortillas are poverty food! People are going to get to the store and find they can’t afford to buy food. Now that is real and what some guy on CNN is saying to fill up air time is of no consequence whatsoever as far as I am concerned. How long can we stay in denial? Forever? Somehow I don’t think so.”
If you’re the type to pay attention, what do you track as indicators of where we are headed?

Astrology and Currency: Venus, Love and Money - What Do You Want For Christmas?
Separate but related:
1 Minute Astrology: Venus, Love and Money - What’s Your Currency?
I have Venus (values) square Neptune (ethereal) and Pisces (more Neptune) on the 2nd house (values) and so it plays in this way…
“Yes, I understand your position on this,” I told the soldier. “It’s just that my position is different. I am telling you, I get it. In your case a Christmas present that is some sort of tangible goods is appropriate. It’s useful and has value to you but in my case it doesn’t work like that. In fact, it makes no sense at all.”
“It makes sense to me,” he said. Continue reading Astrology and Currency: Venus, Love and Money - What Do You Want For Christmas?

Jupiter And Pluto Leaving Sagittarius For Capricorn: The Paparazzi, George Clooney, Dead Babies, Cocaine And The Shadow Side
Astrology in real life
A couple days ago George Clooney spoke about the paparazzi breaking laws and putting celebrities in danger…
“What they’re doing is illegal, its high speed chases and they’re competing with each other. They’re not trying to catch me doing something stupid, they’re trying to create me doing something stupid. You don’t get to break all these laws and then say ‘I’m just doing my job.’ The guys that commit all these crimes are rewarded for it. It creates bounty hunters in a way. “

“I am the son of an anchorman. I don’t want to restrict anyone’s rights. Take your pictures but don’t go 60 mph down a one way street. Don’t cause injury to people who aren’t involved.”

Astrology, Love and Money: What’s Your Currency?
Astrology in Real Life…
The soldier watched all the videos this weekend…
“What do you think of them?” I asked.
“They’re great, P. They’re even better than I thought. I’m sure I’m going to lose you.”
“What?”
“Yeah. Some George Clooney guy is going to come around and you’ll go off with him.”
“Oh for Godsakes.”
“Well, P.”
“Well, what? You sound stupid just saying that. What would I do with George Clooney? Or anyone even remotely like him? What would I dooooooooo?”
“I don’t know, P. I just keep thinking I’m going to wake up… someone is going to wake me up and say hey, Sergeant! And I’ll wake up and be laying in the cold snow having had a dream about, P.”
“Oh God. George Clooney hasn’t got anything I want. He’s not got my currency; everyone knows that. Especially you! You know better than this, right?”
“I do know better, I’m just jealous.”
“Oh, okay. Well then knock yourself out. Writhe around. You can even punch a wall about the George Clooney of your imagination if you like. Don’t let reality curb your fun. George Clooney bores me to tears. I couldn’t take 24 hours with that guy. I’d be pulling my hair out. I’d be banging my head against the wall. I’d be doing whatever I had to do to get the hell out of there, where I don’t want to be. I’d scream and yell and do things that were gross but one way or the other I guarantee you I would make my escape.”
What’s your currency and where is your Venus?
