But the soldier and I have been watching The World at War over the last weeks.

As most of you know he’s a war history buff and he considers this the best war documentary ever made. It was made in the seventies and could not be made now as many of the people interviewed (Holocaust survivors for example) are dead.

It was also made before “spin” and “political correctness” became so prevalent. Back when documentaries were made to inform and actually document history rather than something fashioned to entertain or advance a political agenda and while it is long (11 dvds) it is inordinately interesting.

Back on the Church’s Fried Chicken situation and my bitchiness, I really didn’t mean to have that blog be about me.  This concept about giving people the benefit of the doubt or having their past conduct stand for something has been on my mind for a couple of months.

Awhile back I wrote a post about character assassination. I mentioned that two people in my inner circle had suffered this recently which led to conversations that went something like this:

“Okay, so they here this and that about you,” I said. “As highly as people think of you, do you not think they would question what they are hearing?  Does the whole town swallow the story, hook, line and sinker?”

I am working on much happier things but want to get something up here after starving the blog while I road-tripped with the soldier, so here it is:

This is for the people who feel they carry the shadow for the collective. I know I am one of them and I wonder if any of you have ever confronted anyone who constantly dumps on you. “If it wasn’t for you, Elsa…” I have.

Listening carefully to the 800th complaint about my personality lodged over a half dozen years and feeling strongly the complaints were unwarranted, I cocked my head slightly and said, “Say. Have you ever thought of how your life would be if I died? You know. What if tomorrow my life ended and that was that. I was gone. Do you think your life would be better? Because I don’t think it would. In fact, I think it would be much worse. Strange, huh? If I wasn’t here, I think you’d feel even worse then you do right now…”

Complaints lessened after that.

Busted - there is no difference I can perceive. People with a lot of Scorpio or focus on the 8th house carry and contain the shadow for the collective, period. Not to make them sound like victims, though which was the problem with Nancy Grace trying to move Elizabeth Smart. She kept trying to cast her as a poor and pitiful victim and Smart just could not relate.

Also, people under strong Pluto transits are going to have these types of experiences. If Pluto is transiting conjunct your Sun, then tag, you’re it although the effect will be temporary.

When it comes to containing the shadow does anyone perceive a difference between planets in Scorpio, planets in the 8th or people with an otherwise strong Plutonian signature?

The Moon is in Scorpio and co-rulers Mars and Pluto oppose each other as part of the grand cross in the mutable signs. People are liable to communicate their angry emotion today and it may be explosive.

People more who have better awareness and command of their energy may also speak up and if they do, you can be sure whatever they blurt out is deeply rooted in their psychology.

If you are on the receiving end of such communication you will be impacted and it may help if you can detach (Uranus), understanding whatever is coming up from the deep of your pal or your partner seeks expression for their liberation and beyond that, their rage is not just their own but the rage of the collective.

Some years ago there was something I wanted very much. The thing I wanted was not what people (the audience) wanted for me. As a matter of fact what I wanted was unfathomable to them.

And this was not all that surprising because at the time no one knew who I was anyway. I was flying completely beneath wire which is very easy for me to do. In fact, being such a strong Saturn Neptune type, the challenge is to be seen at all.

So it’s easy for see how people, most of them well-meaning could have misjudged which choice would be best for me, seeing as there was no “me” in the equation. I was just a hologram person of their projections with dark hair and a grin. And back then there was nothing I could or would have done about that.

So now I find myself in similar circumstance. I want to opt in a direction that will disturb people. A lot! I am simply not going to be able to explain my decision, at least not in the short term. Ten years from now? Maybe.

But this time I’m going. I am going where I want to go and I am going to do what I want to do and people… the audience are just going to have to deal with it. They are going to have to trust because I am old now and I’ve earned that.
