Mars At The Barber… Again

Astrology in real life

barber chairI am about to start posting a new series on the soldier that is infinitely rude but instructive. I have started writing (and getting my nerve up) and then today he shows his other side.

The soldier has had horrible and I mean terrible haircuts for 6 months. I wrote about the first one (Barberess) which was so bad he had to wait several months to even try to get it fixed and then he went to a barber here and another gal cut his hair - probably as bad as the other who can judge these kinds of things?

The point is his hair has been hideous and I do not exaggerate. In fact this has led me to tell him what people like you (yeah, you) say… that is, “The man is blah blah blah years old and still walking around with a shitty haircut.” Well let me tell you something: It is not necessarily his fault. And I don’t mind, thankfully. Because if I did mind I would have to kill myself, that is how bad his hair has been.

“I will.”

I laughed because it was a true pedestrian free, strip mall free zone. I thought about calling for a man like you’d call a dog but held my tongue when I looked over and saw to soldier so focused. And then on the left, an Ace Hardware.

“Ace Hardware! Got to be a man in there for sure,” I said.

“Pull over, P! I’m going in there.” Continue reading How Mars Behaves When Venus Isn’t Looking… At The Barber Shop

Voice of Mars: I Need A Haircut

Astrology in Real Life…

haircutThe soldier and I were in Kansas City, MO this weekend. There is a highway that circles around the city and we were on it.

“I really need a haircut, P.”

“Let’s get you one,” I said not bothering to look at him. He definitely needed a haircut.

“Where should we get my hair cut?”

“I don’t know. It’s not like you care. Why don’t we find a strip mall and you can just run in one of those fast places and get it done. Great Clips, or something like that Can’t be too hard to find one of those,” I said. Continue reading Voice of Mars: I Need A Haircut
