Sun Conjunct Saturn @ 8 Years Old - The Power Of The Pen: Storytelling (Jupiter) As Savior To Capricorn And Saturn Types

Astrology in real life

libra angelMy son has begun to cartoon his life. He draws what he sees the way he sees it and I am freakishly happy because I know firsthand how telling stories invokes Jupiter which acts as anecdote to the Saturn blues.

My son really has had a terrifically difficult life starting from the time he was 4 days old and seeing him with this outlet… well I just know he will blossom and be okay.

A few weeks ago he was threatening to draw his Mom burping and I think he has caught on to the power of all this. Got a problem with your mother? Draw her burping and watch her Libra flip out! There. All better.

This started when he was 4 years old. My daughter had been picking on him not stop as she was prone to do and apparently he had just had enough. Never in his life had he retaliated but he was PISSED and he grabbed a piece of paper and drew a picture of a tic.

Mars And Love - Ode to the Artichoke by Pablo Neruda

Outtakes and various other sundries

Ode to the Artichoke
Pablo Neruda
translated by Jodey Bateman

artichokeThe artichoke
With a tender heart
Dressed up like a warrior,
Standing at attention, it built
A small helmet
Under its scales
It remained
Unshakeable,
By its side
The crazy vegetables
Uncurled
Their tendrills and leaf-crowns,
Throbbing bulbs,
In the sub-soil
The carrot
With its red mustaches
Was sleeping,
The grapevine
Hung out to dry its branches
Through which the wine will rise,
The cabbage
Dedicated itself
To trying on skirts,
The oregano
To perfuming the world,
And the sweet
Artichoke
There in the garden,
Dressed like a warrior,
Burnished
Like a proud
Pomegrante.

Aquarius And Pisces - An Interesting Combo With Endless Possibilities

Astrology in real life

ballroom dancingVenus tied up with Neptune, other planets in Aquarius as well as the Sun conjunct Uranus in Pisces favor escape through music, imagination and art, that’s the Pisces/Neptune side. Uranus/Aquarius begs for surprise and innovation and you get stuff like this:

“I’d like to learn that,” the soldier said pointing at the TV. “I’d like to learn to ballroom dance, we should take some lessons.”

“Really? I’ll take lessons with you.”

“You will? Okay! First we’ll take lessons and learn to ballroom dance and then I would like to actually go to a ballllll,” he said. “I want to go to a real ball and dance at it.”

I snorted. “Where are we going to find a ball?”

“I don’t know. I guess someone will have to throw one and we’ll have to be invited.”

I didn’t answer because I know us. If we learn to ballroom dance we will find ourselves a ball one way or the other.

I think that preparing for the life you want goes a long way towards manifesting it. You?

Astrology And Art - A Psychological Self Portrait?

Astrology in real life

van gogh self portait“Yeah, I’m thinking of doing a psychological self portrait,” I told the soldier this morning.

“A what?’

“Self portrait! A psychological profile of myself through astrology.”

“Why would you do that?”

“Oh, I just thought of it. I think it would be something to do. I am going to do it with videos I think.”

“I don’t know that I would want to reveal myself like that,” he said.

“Are you kidding? I have written 4000 blogs on this blog alone. You think I am not revealed? If you are going to write, you are going to be revealed. Like that singer songwriter you hate who is always singing about that one girl who broke his heart. He does that and he is visible.”

Astrology In Real Life: Use Your Energy In A Positive Way - Yeah, But How?

Astrology in real life…

venus at her mirror Vel¡zquezSay you’ve got a problem. And let’s say you’ve got the hang of astrology or perhaps you consult an astrologer and they isolate some problem or pathology to a specific aspect in your chart. Now what?

Well if the astrologer is me, they will tell you the energy is yours and that energy is neutral until directed, meaning you can find a positive way to channel it. And I haven’t written specifically on this topic so I thought I’d start.

Neptune / Pisces Pining Over a Lost Lover - Does It Fuel Art?

Ask the collective…

van gogh self portrait earI had a question yesterday I couldn’t use for the blog because rather than “advice” the gal wanted a specific opinion. She explained her situation and then asked:

“Should I pine or move on?”

So although her question didn’t fit the format of the blog, I did email her back my opinion which is this: I don’t believe in pining! If I want more, I go back and get it and if I’ve had enough I move on. I would equate pining with purgatory. But then I got to thinking about this.

And back in April I posted this blog - Libra In Love With Virgo: Keep Pining Or No? and I was astonished at the passionate arguments that erupted. People have very strong feelings about this.

For example Tosh wrote

“..some of the best art (poetry, music, painting etc)is the result/inspired by/an expression of …pining.”

CC wrote:

“Van Gogh pined over a prostitute. He cut of an ear and sent it to her, but never painted her. That’s pining for you.”

And then arachnid jumped in with this:

“Van Gogh didn’t cut his ear off because of some bitch. He cut his ear off because he was crazy. She just happened to be his bitch at the time so she got the ear.”

So what do you think?

Is pining productive?

Astrology, Art and Creativity: The New 1-Minute Videos

Ask the collective

leoOver the weekend, I was talking to the soldier:

“I’m still making astrology videos,” I said. “I think I’ve made ten of them and I just feel really good.”

“I sure wish I could see, P. I want to see those things! But I guess it’s just as well because I know I’ll be jealous as hell when I do. I’ll be fuming. I’ll be mad as hell need to go for a walk!”

“Yeah, I think you will go nuts. Sorry about that.”

“No problem, P. I know you need to do this. I know it. This is in you and it has to come out like sweat.”

“Did you say sweat?” I was flabbergasted.

“Sweat, P. This is your sweat, it has no choice but to come out.”

What is in you like sweat?

Astrology and Music: Venus and Her Tastes

Astrology in Real Life…

venus sleepingPerhaps I am old, or perhaps it’s just a matter of taste but try as I might, I just don’t like the music my daughter is listening to these days. And this is difficult because I thought I could and should love whatever (and whoever) my kids loved but turns out I can’t manage and the truth comes out instead.

“What don’t you like about him?” she asked. She has a spectacular crush on the band’s lead singer.

“Well honey I’m sorry. I’m sorry but I just think he’s tiresome.”

“Tiresome? You think he’s tiresome?” She was shocked but curious. Your basic Plutonian Gemini.

“Yes, he bores me. And I am sorry to say that. I mean to like him and I try to like him but instead I am just bored by him.”

“Why bored?”

“Well what’s he do? All he does is go on and on about how bad his parents are and I don’t know,” I said with a chuckle. “I just think that’s boring. It does not interest me after a point. I want to know what you’re going to do. I want to know who you are. I don’t want to hear yet another dramatic way to say, I am mad at my parents. Good God.Song after song after song. Blah, blah. Can you see how that could be boring? I am bored to tears with that.”

“I could talk about that subject all day and all night,” she said.

“How bad your parents are?”

“Yeah.”

“Well go ahead. There are others out there who want to do the same thing but I’m not one of them. In fact I’d rather do anything but.”

“We have different tastes?”

“We have different tastes. And I am sorry. I will try to like your next crush, okay? I swear I will. And I wish I liked this one but I do not. However, I understand you do and I understand why and it’s fine with me. I got you the black makeup didn’t I? Rock on, babe. Do what you want; I am glad you are moved by the music.”

She has Venus/Pluto I have Venus/Neptune. No wonder…

Is there music that bores you? Where is your Venus?
