My daughter and I on a road trip:

“So you think I am social?” she asked.

“Yeah. Very social. You are way more social than me… or your brother who come to think of it is very much like me on this level. But yeah. You’re wildly social as far as I am concerned and as far as I can can see.”

“How can you tell that?’

“The phone for one thing. That phone we share. How many numbers do you have on there anyway? Fifty? I bet you have the phone numbers of fifty people and you’re 12 years old. And further you call them and they call you. They are not dead numbers. You use them and you use them all the time.”

“Uh huh.”

“Okay, so how many numbers do I have on there? Let’s see. You have fifty numbers, probably headed for one hundred and I have six or eight.”

“Yep.”

“And how many of those do I actually speak to regularly? Four or five?”

“Yeah.”

“Well there you go. This tells you that you have and want and need a lot of variety. And you can obviously attract it. And all your garage-saling is the same thing? What you doing?”

“Riding my bike around talking to people?”

“Yeah. You’re a Gemini, babe. You are other things too. You have lots of Scorpio for example, but you are still a Gemini… a Gemini Pig like Alexa and you two are always in a social whirl, especially from my perspective.”

“Yeah, I love to garage sale. I guess I need to hit break the addiction…” she said. “Dot org.”

“Breaktheaddiction.org?” I snorted and continued to drive.

“cf, its dog. How are you?” I asked.

“Aaaah. I’m calling you for some gossip. Got some?”

She laughed. “Gossip?”

I don’t usually ask for gossip. In fact, I have never asked for gossip, I am known for blood and guts and sex and jokes. But these days I have a Progressed Gemini Moon.

“Yeah. I want to distract myself from my life for a minute.”

She snorted. “You just can’t help yourself can you?”

“Help myself what? What do you mean? I am calling a double Gemini for some gossip. This is normal, right? Oh my God, it makes sense to me.”

We proceeded to get cut off… Mercury retrograde.

Unable to reestablish contact, I called Alexa. She’s also a double Gemini… Cancer Moon square Uranus.

“Alexa, it’s me. This is Elsa. Do you have any gossip?”

“Gossip?”

“Yeah. I need a distraction from my life so I was hoping you have some gossip from yours. You have that whole family of freaks. Anyone doing anything? Someone must be up to something. Aren’t they? Anyone getting in trouble or have something great going on? Tell me about it, would you?”

I am inordinately sensitive to the sign of my Progressed Moon. Each time it changes signs, my entire personality shifts and I feel driven from my core to express the qualities of the sign.

There is a new Moon in Gemini today and it’s widely reported you should “start new projects” under the New Moon. Well fine. I think I will start to pull my hair out. 

The Gemini (information) New Moon forms a T-square with Jupiter (more) and Uranus (unpredictable) and Pluto (disturbing) and it is way too frenetic out there for my type. It’s like it’s Alexa Day or something.

I like to talk on the phone and I prefer long chats where the parties languish, and have time process and have insights emerge. But then there is Alexa.

Alexa is an eccentric Gemini Pig and though we talk regularly I have learned to keep it not only fast but condensed. With her short attention span, her multiple phones and movements she wants the Reader’s Digest version and I give it to her.

And this is okay until you wake up on a day like today and realize everyone everywhere is Alexa. Crap man. What am I to do?

Don’t be surprised if you only get half a sentence out of people today and don’t take it personal. There are just too many trains leaving too many stations and none of them are synchronized.

Speaking of the soldier holding on to that sweater, earlier this month we were talking about the energy of inanimate objects, specifically clothing. My friend, Alexa likes to wear other people’s clothing and do you remember this poll:

For example, say you go out and have a really awful horrible time. Would you wear that outfit again?

And I meant to ask this but forgot:

If you break up with a lover do you purge their energy from your environment? For example would you buy new sheets? Would you get rid of articles of clothing or jewelry they gave you or change your hair or the perfume you wore if they’d admired it? Or would none of this be necessary?

Do you have Scorpio in your chart? What about Pisces?

Do you feel that things have energy? For example my friend, Alexa, a full blown eccentric raised in a commune holds what she calls “Switch and Bitch” at her house a couple times a year. She invites a group of women to her house asking them to bring the clothes they have outgrown in either size or style.

The women then pick through each other’s stuff. They “switch” while they prattle on (bitch) about whatever and this is a grand idea because everyone arrives burdened and leaves lighter.

Alexa is very sensitive to energy with a 12th house sun and a Cancer Moon and tells me she feels fantastic wearing her friends clothes. She wears mine when she wants to have an “Elsa day” and she combines her friend’s clothes to swirl things up.

My friend, Alexa just called to invite me to celebrate Easter with her family. Alexa grew up in a bonafide commune and has three mothers and two fathers… and nearly 20 siblings.

She has a Cancer Moon (family)… square Uranus (eccentric) so that’s fitting. But I’m having a Pluto transit to my Moon and so sure what a great idea this would be.

“I don’t know,” I said feeling Pluto-repulsive. “I may be better off the stay completely alone. I don’t know that I should leave the house.”

“I understand,” she said. “But if you do want to come, with my family there is no problem. If you don’t like what someone says to you, just talk to someone else.”

I laughed. That’s exactly how her family is too. They still live in a “communal way”. Her parents still live in a large house outside the city. They have some space out there. As a matter of fact, their house used to be the Playboy hangout in the 50’s according to one of her mothers, which is interesting in light of Rancho Diablo.

Leave it to me to wind up at the ex-playboy mansion or the ex mafia hideout. I go with the ghosts and I just think it’s funny, how these themes repeat. Wanna know the root of that? (Pluto Moon)

My mother was a painter and one of the things she painted was ghost towns! Ha ha ha.

When Jupiter went into Sagittarius it occurred to me to post pictures that illustrate the theme. And since I mentioned my daughter traveled extensively as a baby, I thought I would start with these.

Now my daughter has a 9th house Moon trine Jupiter in Sagittarius which gives a mother lode of this kind of energy… buoyant, international and expansive and you can see her glowing in her element, with these foreign moms (Moon), which was a great benefit (Jupiter) to me at the time.

Because I was breastfeeding! And I was tired! But while traveling, I could hand my baby to just about anyone anywhere and it would be fine. All parties happy! And this persists today. For example, my daughter has family I don’t even know.

I have a friend, Alexa who grew up in an honest-to-God commune. Consequently she has several mothers, a couple dads and more than a dozen siblings. So one day Alexa was running for the school board. And she used to hang with my daughter all the time. Alexa and I carpooled our kids for six years but besides that she spent time alone with her because she got a kick out of her telling me they had a lot in common as fellow Gemini Pigs, but anyway…

I went to a fund raiser to support her campaign and quite a number of her family members were there, with their spouses or whatever. And Alexa was introducing me to everyone and you can imagine my surprise when came to a table of her parents (four of them, anyway) and said, “And these are Mosta’s grandparents..”

Say what? I smiled. How could my daughter have grandparents I have never met?

But I recovered quickly! My daughter travels and finds family (Moon) everywhere she goes. What can I say? That’s a 9th house moon trine Jupiter.

And one more story…

A couple days ago my daughter got a painting from Italy. Uh huh. There is a gal (she can out herself if she wants, I don’t do that) who was so moved by the fact my daughter is ill, she painted her painting and fed-ex’ed the thing clear from Italy. Can you believe this? I can…
