The soldier thinks about (relationship) things and believes these subjects to be deep and so vast it will take the rest of our lives to understand them between us. I don’t argue this. I figure he is probably right and last night he picked a corner of one of the things he wonders about and threw it out to be chewed on.

Unfortunately I could not chew for long because although his question was interesting I don’t think it is applicable to us at all. Basically he wanted to know what we would do if we got into an argument we could not resolve. Say I have one position and he has another and we just can’t come to agreement. He wanted to know if I would consider deferring to an outside source to resolve the problem.

Now in his case, I know he means the church. He would defer to whatever his faith supported which I suppose means, a priest or some other religious authority would tell us what was right and we would agree to abide by it. Okay, time for the story. This woman is a judge which means she sanctions people who don’t understand the word “no” on a daily basis. You get in trouble for harassing people, see. It’s against the law. And the soldier has told her these things very clearly.

No, I do not want to have sex with you. No I do now want to have dinner with you. No I do not want to receive phone calls and no I do not want to answer your inane questions. But obviously rules do not apply to this woman.

Now as to the threats she is in a position to sick the police on a person. This means whenever they leave their house they are pulled over and ticketed… held up, harassed etc. and if this sounds like paranoia, it’s not.
