Astrology Today: March 22, 2010 - Looking For Nicey-Nice? Not Going To Find It Today
My eye on the sky
Uh oh. The Moon in Gemini heads into the T-square in the Cardinal signs and is likely to suffer greatly. Gemini is a sign, light on it’s feet and has no interest whatsoever in being buried in bricks and mud and blood and burden but this is exactly what is gets. People who like things nicey-nice are in real trouble today because this is just not on offer to speak off.
There will be collisions, try not to have them in your cars, trains or planes and remember that these things, and these times are for now and not forever.
Just watch and learn because there is always a chance to make a gain and / or improve yourself.

We’re home now and doing all the rigmarole necessary to get my husband back on the road, unpacked, repacked, etc. Okay so we stayed in bed and watched Goodfellas for the 107th time this morning but this does not mean I am not trying to assimilate our honeymoon and come up with something potent and concise to post to the blog because I am. The problem is so much competes.
Demystifying Astrology: How Do Oppositions Work?
Astrology for beginners
Because I am so oriented towards relationships, oppositions are by far the most interesting component of astrology. If you get me started I can go on ad infinitum but I will try to be concise:
If a person has an opposition in their chart is is impossible for them to act both sides of it simultaneously. Reason is the energies are opposite each other so this would be akin to being generous and cheap at the same time. It can’t be done!

Astrology Today: March 21, 2010 - A Veritable Buffet
My eye on the sky
All in all the Moon fares well in Gemini today. It’s got some heat, some cooling, some grounding, some detachment, some surprise and some inspiration today and if that’s not interesting enough for you, I am sure you’ll think of something.

Demystifying Astrology: How To Make Heads Or Tails Of A Planet In A Sign, In A House, With Aspects

How granular should you get with quality of a sign in combo with a planet/angle and the house? How do you weigh all that stuff in your interpretation?
Really good question, difficult to answer but I’ll try.
First you should never lose sight of the sign a planet is placed in, even if you’ve got some problem with the sign. This is very common. “Hey! I don’t want to be a Virgo. I’ve got Pluto there and blah, blah, blah, so really I am not a Virgo, I am a….”

Transit Watch: March 29, 2010 - Full Moon In Libra - BRUTAL
My eye on the sky
The Full Moon in Libra is acute. It is part of a harsh T-square that involves Saturn and Pluto and when you involve the emotions (Moon) and the ego (Sun) in this type equation there are going to be problems.
People will be cold and calculating and potentially brutal. Venus in the fighting sign of Aries squaring Mars will not help matters. Humble people who pay attention to their gut will fare best.

Demystifying Astrology: “How can you tell if your aspects are good ones?”
Astrology for beginners - See all beginner posts
Traditionally, trines and sextiles are considered, “good”, squares and oppositions, “bad” or at the very least, “challenging”. Conjunctions are judged on a case by case basis.
For example, a conjunctions to Jupiter or Venus (considered benefices) are “good”, conjunctions to Saturn or Mars (considered malefic), “bad”.
You have to start somewhere and this is a likely place to start but I would not take this information too literally because the idea there are “no bad aspects” in astrology is actually more than a sign of our politically correct times.
