Open Question: Libra Wants Advice Around How To Make A Decision

Ask the collective

libra t shirtDear Elsa,

Any tips to help a Libra rising make up her mind? I spend so much time agonizing over how others will react to my decisions, that I forget to ask myself what I really want. I think I need instructions on how to be honest without hurting others. Thanks!

Libra Rising
United States

Dear Libra, I suffer like this myself and while traditional astrology encourages you to act as the opposite sign, Aries i.e. every man for himself, that is easier said than done.

In reality, I think the best solution is to incorporate both Aries and Libra. Asserting yourself is necessary but you can do it in a Libran way. You can honor your psychology and desire for balance and fairness by making half your decisions in your own best interest and half your decisions in the best interest of the other person.

Now Aries might find this ridiculous but if you have a lot of Libra (or a packed 7th house) then you know damned well this would be a challenge and a half. And don’t expect to be able to achieve this right away. At first, 10% selfishness would be a feat.

Good luck.

Anyone else have ideas?

Open Question: Mars! How Do You Deal With And Dissipate Your Anger?

Ask the collective

marsgoddess writes:

“What helps people deal with anger? I don’t get angry all that often, but one of the absolute best things I can do when I’m feeling angry is to clean the house. That helps more than anything else I’ve found, including other types of physical activity. My Mars is in the 4th, trine Saturn. Energetic cleaning leaves me both feeling free of the agitation and satisfied at the accomplishment when I’m through.”

goddess - Being ultra-Marsy, I work out regularly (daily if possible) and I on top of that I walk if I can. With Mars conjunct Mercury, I also write and write and write…

What do other people do to dissipate anger, and can you see it in your Mars?

“Don’t Call Me Buckwheat!”

Ask the collective

A few blogs ago, Tam called me Libra prompting me to play Tam this song of one of my favorite artists of all time, Garland Jeffreys, Don’t Call Me Buckwheat. If you don’t see the humor in this you are wound way to tight for this blog but anyway my son went back to school today. I have a couple more days of catching up and the I am going to get back on videos and I am going to start by defending Libra! For now, you can listen to Jeffreys and there is a question below…

What should they NOT call you?
(and let’s hope you don’t describe your 7th (projected) house.. ::snicker::)

Open Question Regarding Transits To The Natal Chart (Saturn Square Venus Specifically)

Ask the collective

saturn girlDear Elsa,

Let’s say you were born with Saturn square Venus. Years later, Saturn transits square to your natal Venus.

Would you be able to deal with it better because you already have the aspect natally, or would it just be more difficult, like a double dose?

Curious

Dear Curious, here is your lousy answer: It depends. Some people have a difficult aspect like Saturn square Venus in their chart but they also have the ability to ignore it. Let’s say they have a grand trine for example.

When someone has a grand trine it indicates an easy flow in certain aspects of their life. They just don’t have to worry about whatever these areas are so they may opt to focus on the ease and deny the thing they lack. A good example of this would be a woman who achieves like crazy… really very easily however no one loves her (Venus) really (Saturn). This could be a teen star for example.

Open Question: Pisces Asks For Tips On How To Organize

Ask the collective

pisces ashtray fishDear Elsa,

This might seem like a silly question, but I need to keep certain details together right now and storing a to-do list in my dreamy mind is not an option. So, do you have any tips for organization for Pisces? I feel like so many things are scattered. I can’t tell you how many daytime-type planners I’ve owned…

Pisces
United States

Pisces, I’m sorry but I can’t help you in the least. As some of us say, it is a miracle I can find my own ass.

Personally I use the alarm on my cell phone multiple times a day. I set it when I am supposed to do something and then it goes off and I try to remember if the alarm is real or not real. In other words do I have something I am supposed to do at this time (like a consultation) or did I have something I was supposed to do at this time yesterday and I forgot to cancel the alarm?

And then I stand there like the brain damaged and try to decide so you see what I mean. I can’t help you but maybe someone else can…

Organizational tips for Pisces! If you’ve got one, share it.

Bob Novak Makes You Realize…

Ask the collective

robert_novak_iub_img_1622.jpgAbout Bob Novak and his brain tumor, I have been thinking about this a lot today. He retired today after learning his brain tumor was “dire” and it just goes to show you really just have no idea when it’s going to be your time to step off. One day you’re in the middle of everything - you are a driving force and the next day you are pretty much preparing to depart.

I’ve said many times I don’t mind the idea of dying. I often yearn for it and it doesn’t much matter how I die though I am curious what the God will come up with.

Given a choice, though I have always said I would like to be hit by a train. You know. I’m just walking along, maybe wearing headphones and then SPLAT. I can’t imagine I will be that lucky but you know. At least this is possible by my chart - It would suit me.

If you could choose your own method of dying what would it be?

Open Question: “Are You A Plutonian Character?”

Ask the collective

pluto symbol maureen asks on Rotten Things Happen:

“Elsa, would you say you are a Plutonian character?”

maureen, yes. I have a packed 8th house, but I am also very Saturnian, very Mercurial and have a pretty strong Jupiter streak as well.

Er.. my Mars is notorious and I even manage to be pretty strongly Neptunian.

If there is something I am light on, I’d say it’s Uranus but even that is questionable because I shock people on a daily basis.

I would also think I am light on Venus, however I have Libra and planets in the 7th so that would a be a lie.

Hmm..

::wanders off confused::

What planetary energy do you represent most prominently?

Open Question: Astrology And Your Birthday - The Solar Return Chart

Astrology in real life

happy_birthday_balloon.jpgA solar return chart is cast for the day and time the Sun (solar) returns to the exact place it was when you were born. Generally this occurs on your birthday but on occasion it happens the day before or the day after. Although I know of one notable exception most astrologers feel these charts are useful in providing a map of the year ahead.

I fall in the group who uses a solar return chart but not in the group who travels on their birthday to affect the year ahead. Yes, some people feel you can manipulate your experience by spending your birthday in a specific location so the planets fall into the houses (areas of life experience) you prefer.
