The soldier and I are planning our honeymoon and intend to see various people en-route or during. I mentioned a few days ago, it’s been more than 5 years since either of us had a week off, they’ve just not come around for various reasons. We only see each other 4-5 days a month so you can imagine what this week means to us.

It’s dawning on us, there is only so much ground we can cover in the amount of time we have. Most everything is stacked against as is so common for us but anyway, the soldier got my attention when he pointed out there was only so many times he was going to see people before he died. Friends and family, this is and the number is not very high.

He wants to move to the desert which means he will never live in eastern US again. His people have no intention of moving west, “You’ve got to face the reality, P,” he said, leaving me shaking my head.
