Astrology And The 2010 Election - Questioning The Validity Of The Chart
Astrology in real life
I
was looking at the chart of the 2010 election but I wonder just how much weight it should be given. For example if you are going to look at the Moon as an indicator of the mood of the people it is not going to tell you anything about people like me who mailed in our ballots 10 days prior.
That led me to try to find out what percentage of people mail in their ballots and I know it is growing and think it’s high. I was unable to find a national statistic but in this area a whopping 67% mail in their ballots.
I am not a mundane astrologer so would not / could not say the election day chart is worthless but from my perspective as a psych-minded astrologer, I’d consider it a decoy. I mean, let’s say the chart says people are going to feel calm on election day. This could be because they voted their anger the week before.
Anyone have thoughts on this? Do you vote early or stand in line?

i dropped off my ballot the day before, but i filled it out a couple weeks earlier.
I stand in line. I like the feeling of action on voting day, and I know I would be very likely to forget to drop a ballot in the mailbox anyway.
I get my ballot in the mail and take it to the drop off in person.
Thing about voting on election day here is it is often freezing cold and you risk it being a very bad driving day never mind I have stood out in freezing cold snow and wind more then once here to vote so this may be why it is so high mail in here.
I could not find many statistics but we went from 45% to 54% to 67% last election and I would not be surprised if if were not up over 75% by 2012 and this does call into question “the election chart” it seems.
I like the mail in option too, I usually drop it off at the court house. Just to make sure . . . ![]()
I like standing in line (though I have to sit in line now haha).
I’m patriotic and having the right to vote makes me all teary haha.
Weird, in my area there have been so many close races locally, dating back 10 years or so, that absentee ballots always play a (significant) role in the recounts.
Myself, I vote in person. I really like the old ladies who volunteer at the polling places. There are always volunteers from both mainstream parties and they sit side by side and are so damn helpful and encouraging. They really get giddy when there are long lines, and I always feel like hugging them.
I like the idea of a mail-in option, but our system around here is so corrupt, I don’t trust that my vote would be counted. Of course, if it’s THAT corrupt, in theory I couldn’t trust that my machine vote would be counted, either, but having served as a precinct worker several times and having gone through that grueling validation process at the end of the night, I sleep okay believing my machine vote went through. I do think Elsa’s point about what was going on astrologically on the days following up to the election is so right on, though.
When I started voting I voted through the mail. I’ve gone twice to the voting place. Last time, I admit, I did not vote. I’m not sure if I’ll vote next time either. I’m one of those who doesn’t think my vote really counts. I did when I started, but now I don’t. *shrugs* I change my mind all the time.
i had my ballot returned by the post office in 2005. (a mayoral election.) since then i hand my ballots off directly to an election official.
I volunteered at one of our local precincts this past Tuesday for our County representatives and it was exciting! I have done both, mailed in and voted in line and I think I like to vote in line….I do enjoy the energy in the air while standing in line.
There were some surprising outcomes to the local county elections and I think it could be a change in what people are really thinking out there. Some counties experienced big changes….where they had had one party strong for many years..suddenly change and without seeing it coming…..interesting times ahead!
