Practice Makes Perfect… Mars Mercury Mouth Breaks Loose
Astrology in real life
This came up in a consultation. Sometimes, some people have problems and challenges so intense they have simply got to raise their bar sky high and perform like geniuses. They just don’t have the luxury of bullshitting around, spending a year or two or three mulling things or doing what I call, masturbating because in fact they’ve got real crisis.
I essentially told this gal to go right to the head of the class, to completely disregard conventional wisdom and act in ways that are super-smart and effective even if no one else does and then added the old adage, “practice makes perfect”.
I think that statement is true in all cases which means if you practice being ineffectual (which legions of people do) you are bound to become even more ineffectual so there you have it, a tip from the goat.
What do you practice at?

I don’t really have the ability to practice much right now, just staying sane and comforting the ones I love while the walls crash down around us is all I can do at the moment.
I practice emotional management, and I also practice patience. Lately, I’ve also been practicing self-defense.
Doing NOTHING. And being introspective. My SR’s gonna be *great*, I can tell. grin/wince.
It’s in the 12th house, but still…
i practice at emotional expression and sensitivity. kind of. this is a fairly new development. before this it was self-analyzing all the way which is useless since it comes naturally.
Practicing self-expression and healing (10th house Merc conj Chiron in Scorpio). Over and over, I am challenged to express what’s happening. I love the kick-butt advice to just get up and over it by being a genius at ‘it.’
I don’t have time to diddle around … gotta just go over the top. Cappy Moon Scorpio Sun
Lately I’ve been practicing detachment and letting go. We make A LOT of things bigger than they need to be to create some kind of false meaning about our worth. Too much drama.
I’m also trying to be more present instead of living life ticking off my to do list 24/7 (hey I’m a virgo, it happens). It’s amazing how that freeing that is. So my house is dirty. Who cares?
I’m on the same page as Togi-
Today I made the realization that i’m over my ex. Letting it go…and allowing love in rather than holding on to what was and glorifying it.
4 months of aggravating pain..all finally let go off. ::Sigh:: relief!
Playing/resting as much as working. Just allowing things to happen instead of chasing after ‘em. I’m getting of out the “not doing enough”, “not being enough” rut and enjoying life without the guilt. I think my recent trip to Italy, particularly siesta, has helped with that…
Hm.
I practice introspection, too. The fine line between openness and self-protection (I tend too much toward the latter). Keeping my mouth shut (Merc-Saturn).
I need to practice: being social and not getting pissed at inconsequential small talk. Realizing that I don’t have to rely only on myself and asking /allowing others to help when / if they can.
In fire school, they ingrained in us that only PERFECT practice makes perfect. Otherwise, you’re just learning to do it wrong.
Luci that’s a good point. And especially true when it comes to introspection…it can be naval-gazing if a person isn’t awake enough (for lack of a better word)
I practice holding back and NOT clinging to people the way I want to. Letting them have PLENTY of space.

Introspection. My interest in self-examination came early, in childhood. (Mercury conjunct Chiron)
I wanted to find out why I was angered by what I was angered by; I wanted to know why I reacted negatively to certain people/things; I wanted to identify what makes me tick as a human…
Really, I practice at being fearless when it comes to confronting my emotional life. My reward so far has been beautiful relationships and friends who have my back.
