Run Of Luck…

September 18th, 2009 @ 6:07 pm by Elsa

Astrology in real life

I mentioned here or there things have been breaking my way lately. I have reacted to this by increasing the level of my optimism and now I have questions.

I am naturally pretty optimistic so when I have a run like this, I tend to exploit it. For example one time I was in Vegas and I hit some phenomenal streak of luck.  I broke open six slot machines in one casino. At one point I called the mechanic to service on machine, moved down 2 seats and broke up another one… moved down 2 more seats and broke open a third all before the guy could get my money from the first machine.

I had another night like that… I was on a roll with a man who was on a roll even bigger than mine and this was when I found out casinos really hate it when you win… then try to leave the casino with your money.  Matter of fact they meet you at the door with a threat (this is the smaller casinos).

Point here is once I am winning, I expect to keep winning at least for awhile, mostly because I am an astrologer but I bet some would react just the opposite.  That is, things are going well so they expect the sky is going to fall right around the corner.

What about you? When you get some momentum going do you go with it… or guard against it?  How do you think this affects your life and where is your Jupiter?

I go go go go go go go go go go go go go go!

Jupiter rules my chart. I go until my fire runs out of oxygen. I have a lot of opportunities in life because I gained a rep as someone who is up for anything…in fact i am not (ha ha) but I do NOT let on…I like to see what is on offer, at all times.

I’ve thought about this one before and have both reactions at the same time sometimes. I feel like nothing can stop me and go go go and then later that afternoon may feel “wait a minute….”

Optimism is a wonderful and badly needed thing, especially for moon-saturn and venus-saturn types like me! My current SO/former SO/whatever he is — is an incurable optimist. And Edgar Cayce said: why worry when you can pray? Been thinking about that one too…

I guess what I do, too, is like… poke my head up and out and go “is the coast really clear” or “is it really gonna be okay”

Yeah. Fear of expecting too much.

And dare I say it, I feel some good things at the moment. And i do feel afraid…

Jupiter is in my 2nd house in Libra. Sextiles Venus.

I tend to go with it and then check myself…..go again and stop and check myself….I am the same with money too…..if I earn alot (relative) more one month than another, I can spend it too, but constantly check myself because the Cappy in me hates to be without any (Moon in 2 hs) but as I mentioned on another post, my Jupiter is conj my Saturn so there is always that go and stop and then go again…..

But on lucky sprees I tend to go for longer periods and then I feel that GOD then has to come in and give me a reality check about who is running the show here. Jupiter in the 5th house.

Jupiter rising, conjunct Asc.

When I’m up, I’m up, up, UP! And when I’m down, I’m down, down, down (Sun-Saturn, man).
I never expect out-of-the-blue luck to last. I know at some point it will move on, so I enjoy it while it’s here. I also know, however, that as long as I work at it, I will always have good things come my way — even if it’s sometimes hard to see when I’m down in a hole.

I am sorry to say that I am frequently waiting for the ball to drop. I guess that after going through an agonizing period (seemed to be the long, long Pluto transit of my 2nd), where the shit hit the fan over and over again, well I don’t know, it made me very gun-shy. But I have to say that these summer eclipses did catapult me into a different mind-set. I decided to enroll in a graduate program, applied, registered, student loans, referrals, blah blah blah, in a matter of 3 weeks. For real. I just kept smiling like an idiot and followed the procedures. Last week, the first night I sat in class I literally had to remember how the hell I got there :) I guess I mean for once I did not let myself “think” my way out of it.

i have a difficult time believing it.
but, it’s perspective. i’ve always had good thins coming in, one way or another. depends on what i was paying attention to.

sometimes i feel like i have more than my share and it isn’t fair to keep taking.
this rarely has anything to do with money, though.

Great topic. I could talk about this forever. It’s an obsession of mine going back to the 80’s. Started when I was a basketball player. I mean, some nights, everything you touch turns to gold. You don’t even have to aim. You know the ball is going in. It’s freakin’ beautiful. Other nights, you’re out there running around in mud. You have to fight for everything you get.

So I’ve thought about timing a lot. Long before I took up astrology. Look back on a life, and you can see various times when you were rolling.

Luck? I’d break it down like this. I’m good when I control my own fate. Give me something to do, and I’ll knock it out. Going out for a pass in football? I’m getting the ball. Period.

Where my luck runs thin (at least in my view), is when I’m waiting on others to determine my fate. My Jupiter is in the 12th. It tends to be hidden. Most of my planets are in places in the chart that are not as visible (houses 12, 1, 2, 3 & 4 are all occupied).

But there are different ways to evaluate luck. My karma is not half bad, most of the time. I can look back on my life and see where women especially (sisters as well as friends) were looking out for me, doing things on my behalf.

And in the stereo-typed 12th House Jupiter fashion, it’s true that people can’t really knock me off my game. I have this weird faith that I’ll get there eventually.

Jupiter is in my 7th house conjunct my Gemini sun and Mercury. I don’t remember ever considering myself lucky on my own. It’s always in relation to my partner. This isn’t to discount all of the good things that come my way separate from my spouse as I am not a pessimist nor am I ungrateful. I just don’t think about MY luck much.

It is part of a mean t-square so sometimes things come to me with one hand and are taken away with the other. I have sort of an easy come easy go attitude about it most of the time and appreciate the luck that sticks around that much more.

I have the Jupiter/Saturn curse, I go go go until I realize that I can’t get anywhere. Or I don’t go anywhere until I realize I could have gone everywhere.

It’s a bitch.

It’s actually quite rare for me to notice I’m having a run of luck like that. If I do, I never expect it to last past the moment I notice it. Jupiter in Libra, 9th house, with the rest of the stellium.

When I look back on things, I always think I’m lucky. In the meantime, I try to hide until it’s all over. :)

At the moment, I’m thinking I’m unlucky because I lost my job, but at the same time, my family has helped in a big way so I don’t lose my house, etc, which is a huge lucky streak.

I have Jupiter in Libra … maybe that explains the balancing act. Jupiter is conjunct Uranus, sextile Mars, Moon, and Neptune. I usually win in Vegas.

I also have Venus in Aries on the 2nd house cusp, which I’ve read attracts what you need in the nick of time.

So I guess the answer is that I’m constantly trying my luck.

I do have a lot of Neptune influences… would this cause you to be optimistic (or delusional)? :)

In my work life, I go with the momentum. So if all of a sudden, five rush jobs come pouring in, I take them all and make it a profitable week.

I guess I tend to want to do a lot of whatever I’m doing. So if it’s an especially social month, I’ll tend to keep it going. If I’m junk fooding it up, then I am REALLY junk fooding it up.

In casinos, though, I’ve never found any sort of momentum. I gamble as a rare “fun night out”, set myself a maximum loss amount, and if I hit that I just stop.

I could not tell you what if anything this would have to do with my planets, except that Scorpio moon likes extremes and yeah, I’ve seen some.

10th house, square Saturn, Uranus, Pluto.

I won pretty good on Monday at the casino. First time in MONTHS. I have work up that way again today, so I’ll do what I did on Monday; take $40 in and leave when it’s gone or I’ve kicked the casinos ass.

I tend to be cautious with lucky streaks, though. It’s inevitable they end, and if I don’t keep things in rein I get my ass kicked.

Well I am so often hobbled / impeded in some way, when I see the path clear, I sprint like a MF’er!! :)

I tend to be waiting for the other shoe to drop. My Jupiter is in Pisces in the 9th, trine my Cancer Sun in 1st/12th.

I think, honestly, it has to do with being a Cancer. Everything is so variable, that if I hang on to the lucky streak, it’s gonna seem that much worse when it ends. Moon Pluto also sometimes doesn’t believe it deserves good luck.

All in all, I’ve spent far too much time feeling guilty for the lucky times. I’m not as bad as I used to be, though.

I’m a definite guard against it. Opposites. Something good happens, that means something bad is next. My husband didn’t believe me, but now that we’ve been together he see this. If several things start going good I become very paranoid.

Ah yes! I know about luck, in regards to money anyway. A leo girl once told me it was a scorpio trait to find money on the ground, which I do quite often. Another thing is if you see a coin, even 5c, pick it up because that will start the run of luck. Once the run is going, buy a lotto ticket with the money you found :) One time my mum said she was going to win lotto and I said, you won’t but one of the men in our family will. Then she said ‘Col!’(her husband) and I said, no not him, one of my brothers. So she said ‘Al!’ and I said no, not Al. Which just left My elder brother, who won $300 a day later.
