What is that a picture of… a vest made of pot?

I AM kind of irritated today. And irritatING too, I think.

This weekend I went to the public market with an old friend from high school. She raised three kids, then went back to school to get a teaching degree, and now she’s juggling her role as mom of three high schoolers, one of whom is in and out of hospital for depression, with her role as high school english teacher. I asked her why she chose to teach, and she described the rush of good feeling teaching gives her, despite the hardship.. she said it grounds her. We talked for hours. I drove away to run errands all day, and realized I had a rush of good feeling myself, from connecting with a new/old friend.

Just the day before, I was feeling lower than low. Dad’s battling cancer, more layoffs at work, worries abound…Life right now is complicated. I could give in to soooo much yuck stuff. But things keep happening to bouy me. I’m either paying more attention, or just going with the flow with eyes open.. and there’s a lot of healing on offer. I’ll take it
