A Remark About Michael Jackson
Astrology in real life
The other day the soldier was here and he was watching one of the programs on Michael Jackson. I was watching it with him at his insistence. Everyone knows I’m adverse to TV.
The bit was something they threw together, Michael Jackson, Video King or something like that. It was a look back at his career via his video performances and at one point the hostess remarked something along the lines of Jackson wanting fans and people around the world to note what he had accomplished.
I didn’t catch it exactly. I never watched tv… MTV in my life but perhaps he made a video that spliced together bits from his previous work? In whatever case, she supposed he wanted his efforts and his achievements to be marked and acknowledged. “He wanted to own his history,” she said, or something to that effect. I could relate.
“I understand that,” I told the soldier. ‘They’d criticize him for that but fact is he did some fantastic stuff and I don’t blame for wanting possession of it. Do you know how much work it is to produce his kind of quality?”
The soldier nodded.
“Okay, well I know you don’t feel that way. You don’t care if your work and effort is forgotten but I do care. I definitely want to own my past, I’ll take credit for every bit of it and I insist yours is not lost either. That is why I wrote all that stuff to your son,” I said. “If you’re going to have a story, make sure you have the story right. Here, get the real story not the spun story. Bastards rewrite history, they discount things, they call us liars and all I can say is I understand Micheal Jackson if that is what drove him. He did do all that stuff and I am glad he put it together to where is could not be denied. That was very smart on his part, I totally approve.”
I glanced at the soldier but he didn’t say anything.
“I know you don’t care,” I said. ‘But just because you don’t care does not mean it’s not important. Some people actually do something with their lives, why should they be denied? God, did he ever work to be able to do that,” I said, nodding at the screen. ‘He’s a Virgo you know, they work their asses off, look at him.”

I always thought he was a Leo because of his grandiosity.
It’s obvious indeed that MJ is a Virgo (and Madonna, too, has such a hard-working ethos and temperament - I think she’s a Virgo rising?). Anyway, I’M a Virgo, too…. so my question is, why am I such a lazy bum? I don’t want to work hard AT ALL, and I can just sit around all day long. Never understood what was up with that.
But I do admire all those hard-working Virgos out there (and not just the famous ones - the ones I know also work their asses off, selflessly serving and mastering whatever they’ve dedicated themselves to). Sigh.
Sea, I’m not so sure about Madonna being a Virgo, but I hear you on lazy Virgos. I’ve been told I’m not lazy, but I don’t believe it. Let’s hear it for Virgos that actually accomplish things!
The most effed-up thing about MTV Europe was, om June 26 I open the channel inm expectation to watch me some highquality Michael Jackson vidoes, and there were some complete wastes of space, who sort of attempted to wriggle a glass around the board, and they giggled, and then there was a softdrink commercial. FUCK MTV, really.
I always thought MJ was a Gemini Rising, because of the litehness of his movements, but he could also totally be a Virgo Rising. Madonna is a Leo with lots of planets in Leo, but a Virgo Rising, all her Leo planets are surprisingly in the Twelfth House, which leads me to believe, there is so much about her, that we don’t see.
Cheers, everyone :o)
(There are spelling mistakes, I am clearly not a Virgo…)
theblackscorpio,
Michael Jackson made mistakes in his life and he’s a Virgo! Virgos long for perfection, but that doesn’t mean they always get it, lol!
Like I’m a Sagittarius, but that doesn’t always mean I’m in a jovial and optimistic mood.
Beth and Sea, I think Virgos are easily overwhelmed in their attempts to achieve perfection. They can be literally incapacitated by the idea that if you can’t do it all or can’t do it perfectly you just shouldn’t do anything at all.
My Virgo Mars in the 10th house gets channeled into my career as a dog groomer and I have a Virgo daughter and sister so I get to see that in action quite a bit.
Oh Lupa, I agree about Virgo overwhelm. My husband gets it - and I have tried for years to get him to make a list of what all he needs to get accomplished. But, will he do it? No, stays overwhelmed, but manages to operate well in the world despite this. It drives me bonkers.
“Dude, make a list, prioritize it, start at the top of the priorities and get ‘er done!” So simple in my mind and in how I operate, yet I can not for the life of me figure out why this concept fails for him.
