I was lucky my inlaws were pretty okay with me, My husband also doesn’t have any siblings. I have Pluto in libra it’s in my 11th house.. Capricorn is sandwhiched in my 2nd.. and nothing in capricorn. So I can’t say I’m going to die if you don’t like me, but I would prefer to be okay with you, Just No problems.

Anyhoo, my jerkwad cousin (mentioned before around here)’s mother is like this. She was not going to like any woman he married, period. And I kind of wonder if my other aunt is going to be like this about any of the mothers of the people her kids marry. This aunt loves the new son-in-law, but has been sniping and bitching about his mother for years. Finally met his mother this weekend and she was perfectly nice, not the sneaky liar my aunt claims she is. I’m inclined to think my aunt just isn’t going to like anyone else on “her” territory. She doesn’t get nasty to my mother, but it seems like any females on “her” turf such as her sister-in-law or mother-in-law get bitched about no matter what.
I totally get where she’s coming from. Despite my Aries rising and Sun/Mars in Leo brusqueness, I want to be liked. That’s my Libra Moon. I have three planets in the sign. I have no planets in Capricorn, but my MC is there.
Anyway, I’ve posted about problems with two SILs that have been going on since I met hubby. They took an instant dislike to me. One side of me said, “Well, f them! Flip ‘em the bird!”, and the other side was saying, “What did I do wrong?”
It took me a while to figure out that they wouldn’t like anyone who hubby brought around. One SIL doesn’t want anyone being close to her mother except her (Moon/Venus conjunction in Cancer in the 1st house, which explains itself) and her kids. Everyone else is dirt. The other one susses people out to see if she can jerk them around, and if not, she trash talks them.
There’s another reason behind this SIL’s foolishness: Her sister wanted to date my DH after her first marriage ended, and DH said NO WAY. So anyone who wound up with DH reminded her of her sister’s rejection. This is only a theory, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there was some truth to it.
These two women can’t stand each other, but their hubbies are best friends, so they formed this “pack” that shuts out the rest of the family. I could never figure out why until it hit me: this is Cancer clan mentality at its “finest”. Between the four of them, there’s one Cancer Sun and three Cancer Moons. Hubs and I have no Cancer and a lot of Leo, so we’re not the kinds that would be accepted into this “pack”. Hubs told me this rivalry/pack mentality crap was going on long before I met him, so I simply choose not to deal with it.
So in short, for anyone who wanted to wade through that long post: Hubs’ family was a freaking mess before I met him, so the die was cast, as Elsa said, for anyone who dated or married him. It didn’t matter who they were or what they did. These two would find something to pick on and gnaw on it forever. Now what can you do about shit like that except remove yourself from it?

My MIL .. I could twist myself inside out to be what she wanted and she would still find something she didn’t like (and tell me about it too).
I used to get really upset.. but I realised that.. sometimes you just have to accept that things are the way they are and.. move on. I find using my invisibility (neptune) skills helps.. alongside a healthy dose of avoidance… I’m also working on deflection and diversion. She is so brash and insensitive that meeting her head on just does not work.
