Writer’s Block, Getting Your Nerve Up To Speak Your Mind, Etc.

Mars Conjunct Mercury In Libra Loves A Writing Challenge…

I write this stuff less to talk about myself and more to make people more aware of their own desire for challenge, their need to assert themselves and act heroically. If this sounds foriegn to you, it is safe to assume your Mars function is repressed which is the case for many women. The energy still plays, it just plays in a perverted manner.

You can imagine an arrow flying through the air (or a thrown knife) sticking to it’s target. This is violent for sure but the exact way to go about it.  If you doubt this just imagine some crazy wielding a weapon, waving it around cluelessly. Matter of fact, most of the Darwin Awards go to people who have no control or command of their Mars.  For example if you know how to use a gun properly you’re not likely to shoot yourself in the foot.

In whatever case, I have Clearcut astrology job(s) to work on today but with a wrinkle. Both questions are meaty will be challenging to answer but also both questions came from the same person.

This means to maximize potential for everyone involved (for her, for me, and for the people who read here now and in the future), I have to find a way to separate the questions, while I tie them together, while I propose a solution, while I come up with a presentation, keep it succinct… you get the idea. If you think this is easy, you’re crazy but it is enjoyable.

It’s enjoyable because it is an opportunity to use my prowess and I don’t think people are very happy when they leave their prowess lying about, left to wither.

How hard do you push yourself?

pretty hard, emotionally. Physically not so much but I am a Taurus, ha ha.

I’m soooooo looking forward to your team handiwork! I just love the Clearcut Astrology and look forward to getting it done for myself.

I hardly push myself at all. My Mars is largely hidden from me (12th house) and so thoroughly repressed I don’t think I have any prowess to use. Which is a shame because, as you have told me before, it is the best Mars money can buy (exalted in Capricorn) and if I could figure out what I’m supposed to be doing with it I could probably rule the world. Or at least achieve more with my life than I have so far.

My Mars is in Leo, 9th house making many sextiles, but still it’s hard to know how to use it- avoiding pointless drama.
I’m furious at myself a lot, because I’m often in situations where getting angry (at others, the situation) will not help things.

Here’s something kind of cool. I sent the charts to this next Clearcut (there are 3) to my sister this morning. She called to say she was happy messing with them - was going to mull at work today and write later this afternoon.

Point here is she also was stimulated by the challenge - Family mars mercury

How hard? Hard to the point of exhaustion. Usually in creative pursuits. Something’s gotta change :D

This may be slightly off-topic but you made me think of it with your talk about Mars and women in USA society. It seems to me like most of the people I know who don’t think I should ever exercise my Mars (like people who don’t think I should ever get mad about anything or stand up for myself) tend to be people who express their own Mars poorly. Those people tend to be extremely passive aggresive or do aggresive things in an unconcious way, like if I pointed it out to them even immediately after it happened they would have a brain fart and not be able to face what they just did. They would either have lightning amnesia, or argue that they are totally innocent period. lol

People I know who are comfortable with their own Mars are more concerned with my safety, making sure I know how to defend myself physically, and encourage me to stand up for myself. These people are generally ex-soldiers, macho men, and even just regular people who do a lot of thinking.

So true Amthyst! I sure can be one of those passive aggressive peeps. I’m very aware of it and also embarrassed that I’m still letting my mother’s Mars-Neptune example shape me –from the inside… I really have to pay attention. When my Mars works I’m so happy let alone efficient etc. Right now it’s blocked, but just for me. Yet I still can work quite hard doing stuff for other people. Pluto started squaring that Mars so I’m looking forward integrating that psychic garbage once and for all. Hell I should call it gold and not garbage, right. Tending to my Aries fire in all due respect.

Both my sister and I (independently) found it necessary to write a disclaimer to the next piece. Sheesh!

I have a Mars/Neptune conjunction…and I do feel my prowess is being unused, and it does feel agitating to me. I just don’t know where to direct my Mars energy — the Neptune makes it feel all cloudy and unclear. It’s in Sag and the times I’ve liked how I was using my energy the most were in academia, examining different beliefs/worldviews, etc. - but then it didn’t feeling inspiring enough, so I stopped, and now I’m even less inspired.

too hard and not hard enough.
i’m constantly trying to find an appropriate balance. my body starts breaking down if i short myself too much on sleep, for example…
think it’s an issue of getting my values to line up with what i’ll push myself for. and it’s easy to trick yourself into thinking something’s about survival. priorities become an issue…

Mars Capricon. I push myself hard but need to push harder with creative pursuits. I feel like I have a book inside of me that is waiting on me to get myself together to write it. Elsa you are an inspiration.

Mars in libra connected to sun, venus and pluto.. Through this blog i learned about needing to exercise my mars so started to literally exercise by doing yoga. It improved how i related immensely and has lead me to understand more about my saturn in cancer which squares it. Basically if someone is respectful of my need to eat well and self-nurture then I’m good to go and want to be active with my partner (aries rules my 6th and 7th). If I don’t self-nurture and just act then I can blow up as soon as I’m hungry. :P

Right now I’m not working but am exercising. With this aries energy i’ve been itching to find a job in my field - which has been challenging in this economy. I’m considering volunteering just so i can be active because i’m aware that i’ve cleaned the engine and now i just want to go. Otherwise i’m losing an interest in the self-care and can feel a mild depression forming.

Liz - Yoga is good for Mars in Libra because of the balance aspect.
