I voted left, but on some things I am amazingly conservative.
People crack me up, where I live the conservatives would think astrology is “devils work” but they plant their gardens by moon signs! I love funny stuff like that.
Sun-Moon both trine Uranus and i voted “lean left”. However I also have Saturn sq Sun inclining my personal morality towards conservative. So collectively liberal and personally conservative. ![]()
Lefty libertarian, (small L) so both. Small gov’t, fiscally conservative, legalize drugs etc.
More local power, less Federal power. I won’t be seeing that for a while haha unless the whole thing collapses, which is a possibility.
I’d be an anarchist if I thought society could handle it. Definitely a Constitutionalist.
Pending member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (gr gr gr gr gr Grandfather) and the ACLU LOL. Saturn in Aries in the 4th. Uranus in the 9th trine Moon. Liberty=good.
Very skeptical of authority and aware of the abuse of power. Makes me really mad. SNode/Sun/MC trine Jupiter/Mars maybe?
I love politics and could write way more LOL.
As a kid I stuffed envelopes for Paul Sarbanes, highly influenced by my Mom. I have Moon in Sagittarius in the 11th house, and it was a comfy and fun thing to do.
During my Saturn Return, I had a boyfriend who was Aquarius to the jillianth degree. When transiting Jupiter conjuncted my Uranus at the point of the yod in my 7th, and while Saturn was Returning I felt like my political third eye open.
Mr XXL Aquarius was a huge campaigner for Ralf Nader, and through this boyfriend I came to understand the Green Party and how that relates to how in America you do kind of have to pick Democrat or Republic to have an effect or feel mainstream.
When I got to Germany and there were elections, Saturn conjuncted my Mercury and I felt uncharacteristically like a conservative in a liberal land. Where were those 2 partys I knew, and then came a whole new reflection on the whole system again, on lots of partys and even coalitions. How the whole nation felt about capital punishment and environment and military it was all a whole different thing and I started a whole new learning curve, always kind of knocked out dumb to wake up to a a left curve.
Each step along the way even until just now on Elsa’s poll, I go left. I have no Libra at all.
Left on some things. Right on other things. I am registered democrat but I feel an issue-by-issue person. I hate political correctness and party dogma, any party that is.
I also have changed a lot since living in a super urban environment (I was more liberal when I lived in college towns)
People are often surprised how patriotic I am (Cancerians often are, I’ve found). The events of 9/11 changed me, as I’m sure they did for many.
I enjoy listening to conservative talk radio even when/if I don’t agree
Not sure of the astrology. I do have saturn in the 9th and I dislike fanatics of any kind
I voted left, but also have some some areas where I am likely viewed as very conservative. I do tend to vote on the person and not so much a party. Astrologically I have 2 planets in the 9th house and Jupiter and Uranus conjunct in the 11th.
I am Canadian and have to say that we don’t seem to have the divisiveness concerning politics that I see in the states. I think that this is made a lot stronger by the fact that each state seems to have their own variations on laws. To explain better an example is, Canada has no death penalty and gun laws. Every province must abide by these laws equally.
I am also very proud that we do have socialized medicine, and I can tell you for a fact that even if we do have to wait on surgery at times,(not as bad as it is made out by some US politicians either) we will not lose our life savings and homes to get good medical attention. Everyone should have that right in a civilized and humane society.
On the other hand I am cynical about all politicians and maybe that is a Canuck deal too LOL, so it seems like a lot of us think they aren’t going to hold to promises made. But we will just vote the bastards out on the next go.
Yes Kashmiri, what a massive waste of money and time eh? The politicians just need to get their asses in gear and focus on the mess at hand, instead of wasting money we don’t have. It feels to me like a way of avoiding dealing with the economy and jobless situation.
I think my comment got lost or maybe a merc retro mistake on my part!
I’m with Jilly on “lefty libertarian (small L)”
I tend to be very politically conservative but very socially liberal. It’s odd, but it works for me.
Libertarian. Big, fat capital L. Don’t really know where to look in my chart for it and I skipped the poll because neither fits comfortably. Both the left and right drive me insane. I’m all about the Constitution as opposed to driving social agendas in govt.
I voted Right because I tend to go more conservative on many issues, and there wasn’t an option for Libertarian….the classic type that is….I don’t agree with the conservatives on all their moral and social issues….rights to being an individual are huge for me! I have Uranus conjunct my Ascendant….Aquarius on my Descendant…does that make sense/
I’m not part of politics, I’m all for Anarchism and Autonomy though. ![]()
I’m a conservative Democrat. I believe in the right to keep and bear arms. I also don’t believe that the government should restrict so much shit.
well, looking at my chart, Uranus is aspecting a lot of it, so I’m thinking that may play a factor. ![]()
I don’t know why I wrote ‘I abhor criminality’ because technically that isn’t true. I ride my bike on the sidewalk, for example. Just thinking of the lies people tell to scam something out of the state.
I had to smile at the example of criminality you used, kashmiri.
I don’t think criminal is the first word that would have come to mind…
Left. Venus in Aquarius in the 3rd (my mindset), squaring Uranus in Scorpio. Uranus would be in my first house in whole sign houses. And actually I was more centrist earlier, but it was during Uranus transiting my 3rd house in Aquarius that I went to a seriously radical, left-wing college and learned things that shifted my thinking more leftward. I still appreciate some social structure though - I’m definitely not anarchist, even though I probably look like one. (Sun trine Saturn) I’m all about personal freedom within social responsibility. (Also Saturn square Uranus)
socially libertarian.
economically i have a hard time categorizing myself. i believe in compassion for people who’ve been smashed by life… but also accountability- i much prefer a hand up to a hand out.
i believe in the principles written in the bill of rights and the declaration of independence… i also know that in a human world they will always be imperfectly applied.
i grew up with a healthy distrust of anyone in power and authority, only elaborated on by my own experience.
i have a saturn/uranus/mercury t square
mercury doubts, uranus rebels.
i have neptune square the ascendant. on the nadir. compassion at home.
jupiter on the midheaven. in gemini. authority figures seem to like me, but i never take them at face value. everyone deludes themself. (one of the most important things i picked up from buddhism, probably connected to the fact that the jupiter is in the ninth.)
my pluto in libra sextiles my saturn. probably why i have an inherent need for balance. especially growing up at the end of the cold war, with the balance of power being the primary weight keeping us out of nuclear winter. (kiddos nowadays don’t seem to grasp the chilling concept of mutually assured destruction…)
Left!
Chart emphasis on Uranus, Neptune, Pluto; 8th/9th house and Libra/Sagittarius. NN in Scorpio conj Uranus on the MC.
Social Darwinism is simply not the way for me.
Super duper lefty.
Ugh, this brought up an Ann Coulter ad. *blargh*
Yeah, that would be a big ole LEFT from me.
Fight The Man!
Fiscal conservative, liberal on many other things.
I voted “I have Libra and can’t decide” simply because I’ve noticed my ideas place me in different cathegories in different countries. But basicly, I’m a social libertarian, otherwise centrist (I don’t mind paying taxes for public healthcare and education, for instance).

I voted left. (However, I go right on certain things…but the vote left is a truer representation of my views).
Pretty sure this is Uranus conjunct Midheaven, opposing 5th House Sun.
I definitely have an anarchist bent, though I abhor criminality. I don’t want to have to rely on the state for anything…however when I had my leg surgery, and my boyfriend broke his back I appreciated we didn’t have to pay for our medical care (I’m Canadian).
Just heard that our country might be heading into another federal election because of petty politics (3rd time in as many years, I think) and it makes me want to BURN THE HOUSE OF PARLIAMENT DOWN!!!!!
