Clearcut Astrology: Panic Attacks
Clearcut Astrology
“I don’t have a specific question, but there are some issues that I have been dealing with on and off for most of my life. I will sometimes get panic attacks out of the blue. I will also get emotionally overwhelmed when I think about my children and the short time we have here together. I want to freeze the moment and be able to revisit at any time, I know this is selfish on my part.
I also have reoccurring fears of death and the hereafter and losing control of myself. I remember when I was little I thought my hands had a life of their own and they would strangle me, weird huh? These are things that I mostly silently deal with I don’t burden or bring this up to others. I believe that other people I know would never think that I am like this, lol.”
The sensitive little thing you are doesn’t get along with all those wild ideas in your head and all those unique actions you’ve been capable of! The little you cries out for peace while the big you thinks big thoughts and has been known to take big action… Find a way to give little you peace and time for herself. Yoga, meditate, or just don’t return all those phone calls for a couple hours a day. Little you and your little ones, all need time to relax and heighten all their senses. Silence is golden, certainly for you. Find some silence, every day.
dig back, dear one, dig backwards, and make peace.
Annalisa
I consider your problem to be primarily Mercurial. You are disturbed by your Mercury-ruled thoughts and the other tip off was the mention of your hands which also happen to be Mercury-ruled. In short your mind has a mind of it’s own and the astrology supports this idea.
First you’re a double Gemini with Mercury in the 1st house (Aries!) which sounds like a racing mind to me. Further, you have Uranus and Pluto in Mercury-ruled Virgo aspecting the Gemini and you see the result. Dark thoughts that come when you least expect it.
Note Uranus and Pluto are in the 4th (family/ security) and you get the idea here - I think we have this figured out. The answer is to quiet the mind and I don’t see this as “optional”. It’s something you’ve got to do.
You have what I’d call a “nervous disposition” and while you are used to it, I think it is disabling you more than you realize. I think Annalisa is on track with her suggestions and I would adopt her ideas immediately but I would also go her one further.
What you have is a form of anxiety and there are drugs that will quell this. They can be taken in very VERY low doses so there are no side effects. The pills last 24 hours and basically just take you down a few rpms so that you’re not plagued in this way.
Imagine being rid of this problem because I think that not only is this possible, the fix is cheap and easy once you know it exists. It’s like toning down a thermostat that is wonky and as far as I am concerned this is akin to wearing corrective lenses when your eyes are jacked.
I am not talking about some hard core psycho-active drug here. I am talking about something low LOW dose to let you live and think and love and feel without being frazzled. If you resolve this one piece it will be a whole new life.
Now for a bit of levity… here’s Falco. He is a visual representation of your mind. I hope he inspires.
The idea is to stop hiding the way your mind works. Instead make it BIGGER and put it out in the open so that something can come and be done about this… hydra in your life.
Much love and good luck and oh yeah. You’re not selfish. I know this because real selfish people never think they are selfish, they think they are wonderful.

…and the two yods… with uranus/pluto to the moon and venus. the moon in aquarius/9 is at the crux of it… like mothering is the focus of some sort of existential crisis…
though i find with anything related to the moon, myself, that i need to self nuture before i can fix the problems with external relationships… calming the mind is excellent…
as a child i used to be haunted with similar visions. i was introduced to meditation pretty young, through martial arts and then zen practices, which helped a lot with gaining control over mental wandering. and yet when my child was born i kept imagining all these horrible things that could happen to him… like i had to refocus all over again. but it has worked to ground out the excess anxiety…
i have an aquarius moon, too. but in a totally different setup.
by the way, i really am liking the dynamic of these little experiments.
wyrdling - thanks. I just want this gal with a clear(er) head and could care less how it’s managed as long as it is Job 1 because altering this WILL change everything.
Thank you soo much!!! I have more routine in my life now more than I have in the past. It does help, it was also suggested by a therapist in the past. When I was younger I never stayed at home and I had my day packed with constant activity. After I had my first child 10 years ago I started to love being home and doing things around the house.
When I was in college I was on xanex for a bit but I didn’t like that. Now I am on a hormone supplement and that has taked the edge off and I sleep much better at night too. I will discuss more options with my doc at my next annual visit.
@isthmus, yes I have looowww earth in my chart and some of the attacks I feel like I am leaving my body, strange. I try to work out regularly and I been trying new things in the kitchen, I love to bake cookies. I am still trying to lose the chub from my almost 11 month baby, lol.
Once again thanks for all the input!!!!!
xoxo
miss, ever tried klonopin (klonazepam)? a full dose is freaky, a microdose can cut off anxiety entirely.
satori I haven’t tried that I have been given prozac before and didn’t like the way I felt. I will ask the doc about it.
it’s not an antidepressant. it’s a benzodiazepine, like valium. they often prescribe to be taken daily but it’s addictive. you can quarter a pill and halve the quarter, taking a sliver when overwhelmed.
NOT a doctor here, just a crazy.
hehehe thanks for the info!!
Hey miss, you’re most welcome! I have a couple low-earth friends who have similarly suffered from anxiety. I find it’s not an easy element to incorporate as modern society tends to be out of touch, literally and figuratively.
Oh, and baking fresh bread is pretty easy if you haven’t tried it
It does take some time but the rhythmic and vigorous nature of kneading dough can be quite calming. Plus it smells AMAZING. I saw a documentary in which Zen teacher/baker Edward Espe Brown said that hands aren’t made for typing and pressing small buttons all day; hands are happier when they have a lot of variety in the things they do! That comment has really stuck with me.
This earthy neptuny type really appreciates the musical tie to the issue/chart as it helps with my underderstanding!
Satori - that is one of the best disclaimers I’ve ever read!! ![]()
Wow, I get those same feelings as the person who’s chart is up. I never know why I get those strange Panic/Anxiety attacks and similar feelings as the person who’s chart is up.
It is really bothersome and almost every night I get a panic attack. ugh. I to have a Mercury 1st house, conjunct Uranus.

I would also suggest that b/c the chart is low in earth, that encorporating earthy activities might help w/the anxiety. Some earthy suggestions include: gardening, petting animals (pets are also a Mercury thing), cooking or baking, giving or receiving massage, crafts like pottery, woodworking, etc. The more regular and routine these types of activities, the better.
