Memory Is Queer… Hard Pill To Swallow (Part 4)
Catch up here: Memory Is Queer And Distinct To The Individual
Regarding this story, I’ll tell you something I like about myself. I am willing to contain my feelings so that I can discover the other person’s perspective and I think this is pretty rare.
Most people are so invested in their own realities and so defensive of them and just so damned controlling that if you put them in the circumstances of this scenario, they’d have moved to convince the soldier of the importance of the incident they felt was important. They would want to dictate rather than try to comprehend how he came to a different conclusion even though the latter is far more rewarding.
The main reason I wrote about this was to illustrate this point and I bet plenty of people read this and say, ‘I do that,” but they don’t. They don’t because while it sounds easy on paper it is actually very demanding.
First I had to accept that something key to me was meaningless to him which was jarring and something that just must be swallowed. This goes against the knee jerk reaction but it’s imperative if you want to move beyond your own limits.
Once the pill is swallowed it becomes possible to learn something and I did. I have a far better understanding of his life experience today and consequently a far better understanding of my own. It was worth holding on to that memory all those years… and releasing it, recognizing it as insignificant to realize this gain.
Saturn is exalted in Libra and what that means is that we learn from the other. If you defend against or control the other, you block the learning. Saturn in Libra = humility in relationship…

In a lot of ways I’ll be very glad for Saturn in Libra in spite of the hard aspects it will make. Pluto is transiting my bf’s Sun/Saturn conjunction in his 7th.
When you put it in these terms (Saturn in Libra=humility in relationship) I feel more calm. I’m trying very hard to see his point of view and it can be really hard, when it is delivered in such a brutal (Pluto) way. Relationships take ongoing work for me. I never get to rest a minute, ha ha ha
