Paying Mind The Solar Return

The soldier and Vid have their birthdays this week and I always pay mind when the solar returns come in because invariably there is an event right away that sets the tone for the year ahead.
As an example, last year the soldier quit his job unexpectedly, 2 days after his birthday which brought him home full time. Wham! New situation.
This year both men are gone. Vid is on a class camping trip, the soldier is on the road and I am painting the house while they are gone. The change will be dramatic because satori picked the color and she has taste. There will be a whole new tone, they’ll be shocked.
Also I think (fingers crossed) there are some kids moved in next door. This would be a boon for Vid who has not had a kid on this block to play with for FIVE years. School is almost out so this would provide a big change and improvement from the Quirky Aquarian routine.
Quirky has zillion kids to play with a few blocks away but Vid is isolated. He’s just got to go over there to have company and when they get in fights like they do he’s sort of hosed. There is another house with new people moving in across the street so it’s possible Vid gets home from his trip and finds himself in a whole new movie.

I had a reading done close to my birthday where the astrologer mentionned my solar return and it really interested me. I worked hard on interpreting the solar return for my son’s recent birthday. I plan on making this more of a regular thing in the future.
I’ve been taking trips around my bday for the last 3 year. I dislike b-day parties, I did it in 2002 (last time) & I felt super weird. And that was only in a restaurant. So I take off. In one week I’ll be going to my parents house for a week and help my mum in her garden and get away from the world.
I also pull out a big box of letters from loved ones and get all emotional about old correspondence. I might not to that this year with all the Moon/Pluto/Venus square I’ve got. Maybe I’ll do something easier like colonic irrigation. Or some good old eye-poking, lol
I pay attention to mine and this year’s was a fortress. It is massively cardinal and in the nick of time, I’d say.
I have tried to turn this blog to profit so that it can be maintained and I am DEFENDED like I have never before been in my life.
Had I not taken these steps I think I’d be defunct by now. I just can’t afford to do this without support.
i really like the donate option at the end of the beginners’ posts. that was a great decision, me thinks.
thanks kash, it’s got to be done. I make $3-4 a day off the ads on this site. It just doesn’t cut it, I’ve got a family.
I do consultations and teach the classes - I do everything I can. I work all day and all night but people are going to have to support the writing on this site or it’s not going to be here… which is at it should be because we’re coming the end of the era of entitlement and that’s just all there is to it.
Not as much as I should. This is also the solar return for my husband this week. It looks good!
Heh. I’m traveling on my birthday, though I am getting crap for not having left before now (flight is tonight). Apparently according to my solar return I really really should have been out of town at the exact time…too bad that was 7:30 a.m. instead of p.m. when I leave

I always experience a lot of action and deep thought in the month prior to the solar return, a teacher once told me that month is the “dark night of the soul” time when we hunker down and examine everything–I have found that to be true..THEN, the week of my actual birthday it really is like the return of the light. It’s the beginning f my whole year, the part of the year I love best,too, summer, water, family gatherings, patriotic holidays.. I am wondering what this year’s “events” will be!
I sure do, both the relocated one & the one 3,635 miles away. The former reflects more external events and the later internal ones.
Madeleine, “dark night of the soul” sounds right on, deep thought for me this past month, but no so much for action, which I attribute to Venus retro since it rules my AC and 3 planets. I felt as if on hold.
My birthday is today, the actual return was yesterday. I planned on pausing and breathing for a while at the exact moment but I got so engrossed in a novel I lost track of time and then I fell asleep. I dreamed of dreaming within dreams and had multiple waking-ups so to speak, waking from the previous dream but then still dreaming and then again. Confusing!
Since T Neptune squares my ruler Venus (exactly!) I a expecting a fantasy laden year…
Yes, grr.. the dark night is a quiet time,it seems TRYING to take action doesn’t even work! Then, boom, the return ushers in a path towards movement,action–I experience this every single year.
I also don’t necessarily view the “dark night” as negative –I like the dark of the New Moon for instance, and I enjoy how we have to slow down when it’s dark.. we have to be careful, measure our steps, get help even.. it’s a very rich time–
I think I meant mental action, not actual, during the dark night month–I mean a WHOLE LOT OF STUFF COMES UP!! But you can’t actually resolve any of it or even figure it out..till a month later–

I do a little but am not sure about interpreting it.
I’m not looking forward to 2010 when i’ll be in the middle of the cardinal tsquare. The chart looks like one big red triangle on astro.com. With moon and mercury conjuncting my pluto and venus which will be exactly squared NN in capricorn and close to square with pluto in capricorn. Maybe I should have it read for that year. I wish i could just skip it to 2011 when skies are sunny again.
