Following up Jilly’s question on Personal Planets / Generational or Outer Planets:

“So if you have a personal planet in a house ruled by a non-personal planet, does that give your personal planet a non-personal flavoring?”

Some would say yes, I would say no but not without offering an explanation and splitting some hairs.

First you have to realize people have their own minds, myself included. I have the opinion that people adjust astrology all the time to suit them needs and preferences. For example a Leo would rather be a Scorpio so they see their Sun in the 8th house and proclaim themselves “really a Scorpio”. Stuff like this is very common. The fact is the Sun in Leo is A SUN IN LEO and the 8th house is an area of experience.

As an example, the Sun in Leo is going to be very bright and shiny. It is going to light the place up wherever you put it so if you put in the 8th house (Scorpio’s house) it is going to light the darkness.

This could be a person working with the dying in a hospice for example but they would still be a LEO. They would still be dramatic and childlike. They would be a shiny object in a load of crap you could say but that Leo Sun is still going to be a Leo Sun, it will never, ever, ever, ever be a Scorpio Sun.

In my mind, then the “flavor” of the Sun is not changed and people do themselves a great disservice to think otherwise. It’s like moving all the lines on a map because you don’t like the look of them and then trying to get somewhere.

This is another reason why I am going to have the beginner Sun Sign class as described. It is so people can get this one basic thing NAILED DOWN which will save their astrology for the rest of their life because to deny your Sun is like saying the head on your body is not really your actual head but some other head and once you do that, you’re lost.
