1 Minute Astrology: The Age Of The Sound Bite

Astrology in real life

virgoSomeone just asked me to offer my ONE sentence impression on their chart and I liked the concept.

The other day, I summed up Victoria Beckham’s expression of her Sun and the next day I had a client ask me to do the same for her. I didn’t know if I’d be able to do it but I did.

I think this stuff has a lot of value and reflects Saturn’s transit through Virgo. It is an economy of words see? Sum it up!

I would like to see more of that on this blog in between the longer pieces. There is just no such thing as too much variety as far as I’m concerned. But I think if I went to an always short format you guys would miss the longer meatier posts, am I wrong?

I hope deep thinking doesn’t go to far out of style or I’m going to be hosed. Facebook is interesting. It’s been less than a week but I already feel like a dark heavy object over there. Obviously wherever you go, there you are.

I would definitely miss the longer meatier posts! But punctuated with the short razor-sharp arrows I think they balance each other.

Piya, that’s a good way to put it, thanks…

Hmmm… you don’t strike me as a “dark heavy object” over there but maybe that means most of my friends are even darker and heavier. I’d be really curious to hear more about why you feel that way in relation to the Facebook-o-sphere if you ever have insight you want to share — it’s turning into an academic interest of mine on top of my personal addiction.

My gemini sun in 8th appreciates deep-thinking AND one-sentence summaries!

What Piya said. The longer pieces are Storytime with Elsa P and would be greatly missed…but I like the short posts too, because the point shines.

elsa, have you looked at the facebook birthchart? behind the cocktail facades…what’s going on there? …i mentioned saturn transiting my pluto/north node conjunction in virgo (12th house) in my ’status’ box and i scared half my ‘friends’ away…lol….but i like the cancerian feel of it…holding on and finding some old friends & extended family…i just avoid going too deep there…maybe facebook is missing an 8th house ;-)

In the year or two I have off and on stopped by this site I have thought of it as deep. I do not mean that as an insult either just a truthful observation of my own.

I do believe summarizing is a good thing. I am all about efficiency and getting to the heart of the matter which BTW is deep.

^ I meant to say I have never thought of it as deep.

Sorry, there is no way of editing.

SkyPie - even if you don’t think it’s deep, I know that it is. There is no way I could write a blog like this without having thought about about things deeply AND over the course of a lifetime, never mind I’ve got to be a very solid human being.

If someone like me might be mistaken as shallow in any degree - I would think that AMAZING.

^ I didn’t say you were shallow. Should you think deeply about my comment instead of posting a knee-jerk reactionary reply I think you will see that.

Not sure why you’re scolding me. My response was not a knee jerk.

Lindsey - I don’t know if the chart for facebook is out there but even if it is, I am not very skilled reading mundane charts.

qasseia - I am writing you a new blog. :-)

I would most definitely miss the long posts - so true, they are “Storytime with Elsa”! But I would never expect you to do anymore than you are able, and I greatly appreciate, and learn from, everything that is written here.

I am from a different generation, before it became acceptable to post what you want people to buy you on the internet, and than actually expect them to get it (wedding registries, baby-shower registries, etc..) I was raised to be grateful for any gift someone might give you, and to never be arrogant enough to think they “should” do it, or God forbid, tell them what they “should” get you, lol. So hey, I am happy on this website of yours no matter what :)

This is an interesting trail.

I come here because you have depth and broad vision. It’s not always the way I see things and that’s another reason I keep showing up. I read what you write, listen to it inside, and I like both the long versions and the short. It is a good balance. I’m appreciate them.

Your ’sound bites’ and ‘dark heavy objects’perspective is something I can relate to. I’m not sure what others think of my comments HERE, I don’t often get any feedback. I wonder if my view sounds ‘dark and heavy’ or just different?

The thing that happens here is LIVeLI-NESS and as long at it doesn’t get mean, I keep visiting. Like Dorothy “I am from a different generation …” I like reading and contributing. You set a great KITCHEN TABLE, Elsa. Keep bringing it on!

I like teh way your site (s) have always evolved, you do bits a,b,c, and then d, and then b,c,d, and then a,c,e, there’s always a new angle coming up but nothing really goes away, t just gets a rest from circulation. The evolution/flow of things has always felt organic. Whatever you do I’m going to keep reading because I know there’ll be value in it.

As for being a dark heavy object, I think thats true, but you don’t force people to exist on that heavier plane with you. You leave it out there for people to take or leave as they will and I appreciate having access to that depth if I want to go down and dwell for a bit.
