Open Question: If You Could Draw Your Own Chart, What Would It Look Like?

Ask the collective

zodiac patternsLynne E. asks on Someone Is Weird, Just Not Sure Who:

“!f you could draw your own chart, a new one, rather than what you were born with.. what would it looks like?”

Boy, that’s a good question. It is a well known fact that as much as people complain about their lives, when pushed the wide majority of them say they would not trade their life for another person’s.

I feel the same. I also think we do choose our chart. I think we choose our parents and there are no mistakes however given a choice I would never choose my chart again! Matter of fact I am driven to live as well as possible and learn as much as I can to insure I never have to suffer like this again.

As for what I would change if there is a next time around, I would like to go from being one of the people who carry the shadow for the collective to one of the people who support and cheer the people who carry the shadow for the collective.

I do this now… about 20% I’d like to see that increase to about 80%.

i dunno… do i want some of my angles a little more perfect? i might like them a little better how they are, triggered by passing transits, like the moon, rather than on all the time.

i’ve often wondered about the dynamics of different degrees of orb in aspects… from the couple really tight ones i have to the 10 degree orbs that only show up on astro.com… (and, well. i think i’m just as happy with only a vague saturn/moon opposition, though perhaps a real grand cross would be more balanced than my saturn t square…)

Hmm, I actually like my Draconic chart a lot:)
It has the 8th house Sun in Aqua instead of Virgo; Taurus rising instead of Sag; the Mercury/Pluto/Mars/Venus-stellium in Pisces instead of Libra and the Moon-Jupiter conjunction in Libra instead of Taurus-Gemini. I can identify with these energies, since Uranus, Neptune, Taurus and Libra are strong in my natal.

If I were to wish for a very different chart, I would like to not have that tight stellium. When worked up, I often get too subjective in matters that affect me personally - generalize from me to everyone else, and am quite impossible to argue with (if it’s important to me). Also, would be fun to try out a more flexible emotional life!;)

I would have more Virgo or Cappy so I could be more disciplined (Chiron in the 10th here lol)and also some Aquarius or Libra- maybe Aqua moon or venus so I wouldnt be so clingy and quick to attach and emotional. I hate myself.

:P

I would Put Jupiter or Venus with good aspects in my 11th house and my 7th house. I’d like more friends and luck w/ relationships ;)

“I carry the shadow for the collective”
Wow, that’s a bold statement. Would you please care to explain?

Would I change anything in my chart?
I’d get more of everything. Each sign has it’s perks, right? Perhaps a better question would be - what kind of life would I like to lead? More concrete answers come to mind.

Also, that 14-year-old kid who got spooked by your eyes doesn’t know cute when it’s right in front of him ;)

Take Aries Sun out of the 12th house… Being a 12th house sun seems like a curse - at least at the moment (and in 12th house sun fashion, I’m likely going to change my mind tomorrow).

XenoVega - I’ve explained a 1000 posts worth, just search “shadow” and you should be off and running… and welcome.

I have a fairly difficult chart but I’m used to it so I wouldn’t change it at this stage. I like having a mixture of easy and challenging aspects as I think people with very easy charts are often a bit lazy as a result.

I am grateful for all the pain and suffering and I wouldn’t change a thing this lifetime, I would consider it a sacrilige. All I can do is the best I can with what I was given, and sometimes I do that, and sometimes I do not.

Oh, hell yeah. I would delete my entire chart. I’m not sure *I* chose it, but I accept that God chose it for me. I don’t want to come back again, but if I have to I’d pick something light and breezy. An air chart w/lots of Gemini and Libra :)

I sure could use some more air signs - I have zero natal planets in air signs. Life would be a whole lot easier if I didn’t need to brood and obsess as much as I do.

Four words: a lot less squares. Saturn can keep on being connected to Neptune and Mercury, that’s fine, but please get rid of the Moon and Venus T-square. Also, move Chiron off my sun, move my sun OUT of the seventh house. Empty seventh house would be nice. No T-square between Sun/Chiron/Mars/Juno either.

Oh, and move Neptune out of my second because it totally negates any native Taurean financial knowledge I should have had.

Yup, I can nitpick this one.

My chart has a perfectly-formed cross bow: a grand earth trine with my Scorpio ASC-Neptune conjunction as its opposing point. It serves as a constant reminder that flakeyness is my biggest problem in my life. There it is, right at the tip of the bow.

Guys you’re great.. thanks Elsa for opening this idea up..some years ago I ran an astrology group and asked that same question, and after a great deal of chart reshuffling and recalculation, as the chosen chart had to be a possible one.. everyone ended up choosing their own patterns.. there is no such thing as an ideal chart..but I do confess to having longed for some earth in my own water/fire/air chart.. so I married an Aries with Venus/Mars/Jupiter in Taurus, my late mum’s Sun sign…he drives me nuts sometimes but oh, he makes me feel safe!!

Maybe what we are lacking or unsatisfied with in our own chart, we try to balance and compensate by searching for them in others?

If I could change my chart, I’d like more planets on the left side and top half, instead of the right side and bottom half. I feel like I am more co-dependent and introverted that most people I know, yet I have all this ‘ambition’ inside of me that begs to be expressed…

i’d like some tenth house action, maybe some venus or neptune on the AC or MC, a more sociable moon, like libra or gemini.

To answer the question, I kindof like my chart as it is. It can be awkward having Uranus and Saturn in the same sign/house, though. (Sag, in the 7th.)

I dunno. It might be fun to experiment with something totally different! Maybe to be an Aries for a while. :g:

I’d love venus in the 7th instead of in the 12th

Sun venus instead of moon pluto

Would also like jupiter/sag rising or some sag signature/energy

What else…a well-aspected neptune…..

I’m mostly earth/water so some detatched air would be nice…

I could go on…

I think it would look the same…almost every planet touches most, and sometimes all of the others. I can’t envision it any other way.

As for what I’d wish for…maybe more Gemini. Because Geminis make me so incredibly happy :)

The only thing I might have the nerve to tamper with is nudge my Venus a little bit - it’s not “well-placed” in Virgo, but then again, I love having a little earth in my chart and it’s in a lovely exact trine to my man’s Taurus Mars, so who am I to complain???

I think I would just mess my chart up even worse if I re-drew it. God knows I could put my moon somewhere other than 12th and save some pain, but I don’t know if I’d give up those psychic moments…

I noticed the other day that I don’t have a single planet in the sign or house of its own rulership… in fact most of them are in fall. (just realized Uranus is a loner in exaltation… that explains something) I guess you just have to play the cards you’re dealt.

Hi, Elsa!

Thanks for the tip - the search gives many results, I didn’t suspect you wrote so many articles about the shadow.

Cheers!
