Just the other day I wrote about people wanting to work for cash these days, big time. I dropped off my defective cell phone package at the UPS store and was pulling out of the parking lot when a truck pulled up alongside me to remark on the dent in my bumper.

I glanced over and he started selling full tilt. I liked the guy and listened to his pitch. “I can take that out of there, pop it out and paint it for $175. Make it look just like the other side. If you take it to a shop, they’ll want to replace the whole bumper…”

Sounded about right to me.

“You let me do that, I can have it done for you in 15 minutes… do it anywhere you like. I’ll do the work and if you don’t like it, then don’t pay me. It’ll be a gift…”

Needless to say the guy is in my driveway taking care of the dent. I hate that dent but I would never find time to take it to the shop so just suffer along with it… reminder of a very bad day. I have no intention of getting a new car… the economy and all, right?

So there you go. Unexpected car stuff while returning a phone… plus the black market commerce which is sure to proliferate in this climate.
