Elsa P, The Passing-By Astrologer Meets Codasaurus The Skeptical Engineer
Astrology in real life
I think I can throw some light on the current conflict on my blog by telling a story. This is a Saturn opposite Uranus story in that the Establishment meets the Astrologer. If you pay attention you will see the rebellion and the boundaries etc. as well as be provided evidence that what is going on here is hardly new to me…
Once upon a time there was an online entity named, codasaurus. As his name suggests he was was an engineer and if you want to know how I feel about engineers, I like them.
Matter of fact, I have married two of them and I am (basically) about to marry a third so there you go. I have great affinity and attraction to the engineering mind so when codasaurus showed up to flame me after I posted an article the featured astrology on in internet message board, I was intrigued.
The board was concerned with business and apparently codasaurus thought I had some sense on that front so he wondered fairly politely if my brain had gone mush.
I posted him back.
He posted me back.
I posted him back.
He posted me back.
Meantime a crowd gathered. “Never mind him, Elsa… what does my chart say?”
I responded by reading the charts… a slew of them because I just felt like doing this. People were really happy too. The whole thing was turning into a party and codasauras? Well he just couldn’t stand it. If was as if I said “astrology” and the whole board went insane so he just kept coming back. Every couple days he posted some challenge.
Some responded but saying, “Shut the hell up, codasaurus! Read my chart next, Elsa.” But I liked the guy. I really did like him. I have that chemistry see? So I responded politely to explain it was okay with me if he did not like astrology… I was not trying to convince him and in fact could care less what he thought about it.
He came back, still wanted to argue.
I continued to respond politely, telling him or Dennis Elwell’s, Cosmic Loom
which is written for people just like him. I explained it seemed Elwell’s life work to converse about astrology with the scientific minded but I had no such interest…
The thread went on and on and on. There were 3 threads all together but this first one was 400 pages long and codasaurus just could not let it be. He wanted me to debate him even though I made it clear many times over I was not interested in debating him and finally I told him this:
“Just because you don’t like astrology does not mean you can stop a passing-by astrologer and expect them to stop their life and fight with you on this! Just because I like astrology does not mean I care if you like it and by the way as I have told you 100 times now - I DON’T CARE WHAT YOU THINK OF ASTROLOGY!”
Long story short, it was codasaurus that launched my writing but catch the larger point here. I bet you anything most of you think codasaurus was rude. I think he was rude myself but I also don’t think he is one bit ruder than the people who come to this blog and tell me what think I should write about or how or any other damned thing.
I was a passing-by astrologer then and I am a passing-by astrologer now and the fact I am passing by on the Internet does not require me to be interested in what you are interested in or to write about what you want me to write about or to write in a style you like to read. To think otherwise from my perspective is completely delusional.
For the record, I still have codasauras’s chart. He has an 8th house Cancer Sun conjunct the Vertex… sitting right on my descendant. He has a Scorpio rising and a Pisces Moon. His Mars was where else? Libra!
His Mars was in Libra square his Sun and the guy just kept shooting himself. But I did like him and matter of fact I still do because chemistry is chemistry and not only that, he was the piece of sand that created the pearl. If he’d not come on that thread and raised all kinds of hell, it would have sunk like a rock to fall off the front page and into oblivion.
There is a lesson here on what you call “unintended consequences” because I have written more than 10,000 posts on astrology since.

That is super cool!
And in some strange way reminds me of a man I dated who I wanted to hate except he taught me how to orgasm.
well it’s a hell of a chart. Mercury is conjunct Uranus in the 8th - the guy was bright! But Mars is was conjunct Neptune (attracted to my Venus Neptune??) and aimed right at his Sun. he just could not seem to figure out there was no way he could win the fight.
He’s also got Jupiter in Pisces opp Saturn - the chart is PROFOUND and super sensitive and psychic which he denied completely.
But boy what a crazy time that was. When I look back at the sky at that time, I can’t see it so I must be blind I guess. ![]()
Was Uranus conjunct Neptune in Cap in the Codasaurus era?
Deirdre - no, it was the end of 2000. First appearance late Oct 2000 I guess.. crap I could look up the exact time but it would take some digging. But the height of this was Oct-Dec 2000… into January 2001.
He backed down Jan or early Feb, I moved to a “blog” in April 2001.
I have a question - I would think that Mercury conjunct Uranus would help one to be open to many ideas/theories, instead of being threatened by one (astrology?)
codasaurus was an ass. He loved to fight, and did so with countless people on that board.
That was the thread that I learned why I can’t be a wallflower in a room. You explained that to me - people love me or hate me on sight, but I am never invisible. I remember thinking “how the hell can she know that???”
I think that - to this day - that is the boards longest thread! LOL!
Well the whole chart screamed supernatural to me… and psychically sensitive but like I said, I think he was in denial. Just because you can do something doesn’t mean you will. Maybe his parents told him to be an engineer and all this other stuff was crap!
And she is right - he was an ass.
See how nice I am!! Hee!
The people who try to lay that wrap on me about being mean as hell have an agenda to advance - there is just no actual basis in reality (says the scientific elsa p… :P)
Oh, so both Uranus and Neptune were rootin’ tootin’ in AQuarius on the internet open prairie. Hee Haw!
So he probably was fighting so much because he was so drawn to all this, and couldn’t deal with it.
Just like preachers who damn to hell all the homosexuals and then they get caught having sex with a man in a bathroom stall lol.
It’s so funny how chemistry can create “frienemies”….I currently have one guy who I know conjuncts my Sun/Moon mp and is about 3 deg. away from my Moon but we have a Mars-Saturn square between us and our convo’s are sooooo brief and intense…and we really like each other but just…ugh, y’know!?
My mother did astrology, my father is a physicist…I never saw a rift between astrologers and scientists and still don’t for the most part. Most of my boyfriends have all been scientists who are very open and interested in astrology.
I have had that kind of chemistry with Taurus men. I guess I think “bring your charming stubborn self over here so I can talk you into being less controlling.” The irony isn’t lost on me and when I figured it out I stopped beating my head against brick walls (bulls).
I’ve also learned since that it isn’t the control that bothers me so much as the fact that they (some of them) wouldn’t DO anything interesting with it. I’m generally happy to tag along on an adventure so long as once of us has an opinion about where we’re going.
i’ve seen a lot of that kind of denial… but at least with the people i know well it’s more like a bone-deep unease with the inexplicable.
i dunno, maybe there’s also fear from the days when you’d get thrown in a mental ward for talking about this kind of thing, likely enough…

Well, sure, I mean no matter what, the guy was engaging you and being engaged by you, so you two had a thing kinda going on. That’s real. (seems to be a theme in my recent comments)
Good for us here, good for astrology in general. I like engineers myself, have a few in the family and they’re steady people. Sorta Capricornish.
