The Full Moon, December 12th 2008 That Is Scaring The Hell Out Of Everyone

A friend called a few days ago to tell me she’d read her December forecast written by a very popular astrologer and it left her scared and disturbed. Apparently the ’scope predicted some real doom so I just reminded her 1/12 of the population (those who share her Sun sign) were not likely to be decimated and that astrologers were human. That is the person writing the ’scope could have been in a mood, y’all know it happens to me.
Even if you have read someone for a long time, you change and they change. Transits come and go and they alter people. Do you think I am the same woman I was when I had two kids here? Think again. So that was that. She seemed to recover and I didn’t think about this again until I happen to be looking for astrology videos for the Dispatch when I turned up a video someone made about reading their December scope.
“It scared the living shit out me,” the gal said with her eyes all big.
So just think about this. Same astrologer, mind you but different sun sign and the gal is so scared she turns on her web cam! I’ve not seen that before.
So that was some days ago and tonight it occurred to me to look ahead and the alarm is around the Full Moon on December 12th. It will form a tight grand cross in the mutable signs (we’ve just got through the T-square)…. Mars, Saturn and Uranus are involved and these elements combined to raise hairs. Mercury is also exactly conjunct Pluto in Capricorn…. Saturn is in exact aspect to Neptune and you put all this together and you have definitely got yourself a sky. However… I plan to be just fine and I am pretty sure you can be too!
There is such a thing as a “worst case scenario”. There are things you can dream up but the odds they will happen are probably a fraction of 1% so it seems a big waste of time to even think in those terms. Much better idea to get ready to use this energy… like a big wave it’s coming so let’s ride it.
Er… I can work (Saturn) writing about violence (Mars) and astrology (Uranus). I can be creative with it (Sun) and emotional (Moon) and that will cover the grand cross.
As for Mercury / Pluto, my writing can be potent, yes? To work Saturn Neptune all I have to breathe and get this…

But to be safe… just on a cautionary note, if you want to take extra care I would do so a few days ahead. Because the chart looks less like an event and more like the aftermath of an event to me. Further this stuff is always more potent coming in and if you want proof of that… there is gal who made a video…
As for advice, I’d say keep moving. When planets are in the mutable signs like this, you’ve just got to go, go, go and talk, talk, talk and write, write, write.
As for Mercury Pluto, I’d say turn that one over to your subconscious. You’ve got one you know and it knows what it’s doing.

This is the 1st Christmas we have had in a few years that did not start the season with mercury retrograde…Packages on time…? I can’t see any disruptions in shipping..I am waiting until the last minute…I hate the post office…
This will activate an eclipse series from 1974 Dec 13th 1974.. In 1973 we had the oil embargo the beginning of the Watergate scandal and 1974 stock market took a huge dive. Remember Watergate Nixon Resigned ?

I would worry more about flu and colds Gemini in health matters …and Public transportaion is more of a problem. Where I live 5 miles of metrotrain track derailed (train is down.) It was a big accident but that just happened a week or two previous. I would be watching India & Pakistan

Its a super Moon so it will have a little more power…I wonder where astrologers came up with that ? It always makes me think of the moon wearing a cape..
Pluto is out of that 5 deg or 8 deg depending on what you use…Its not next to mars..That is a good thing..Mars and the sun are hanging out…
For me that degree number 21 on the mutables its a sensitve point for my allergies and sinuses..
Lucky me I am going to take some flu preventative and I expect to have a migraine on that day..

I scheduled a big college test that day ON PURPOSE! I plan to use the Merc/Pluto thing to help me concentrate, and since the full moon axis is across my nodes, this test is a “destiny” enhancer…

Let me tell you what these “astrologers” are doing, they’re not forecasting, they are just threatening. And why are they doing this? Perhaps out of the same reason than any other threat - to paralyze people while they pursue their own interests - in this case it might be getting people’s attention, to say the least. It also can be a way to cover their own incompetence, because they are not able to offer a meaningful explanation of the constellations. Or maybe they are scared themselves and want others to participate, haha. There have been hundreds of this kind of squares and oppositions and full moons before, in South America they think the evil wolf will come out of the woods and bite them - huhu

yes, i agree conny, these are just threats aimed to scare- and they do!! and that is why astrology is not going mainstream… astrology works= so therefore if the experts spin it to be scary (instead of constructive like elsa) then we will be paralyzed in fear (a collective inhale-freeze)
this is something that i struggle with… fear associated with astrology. now is it because i am just a ‘very beginner’ or does this fear go hand in hand with recognizing/ feeling energy/patterns?
As a novice (at best!) of astrology and how it works in my life, I can tell you I get far more from a post such as this from Elsa (it’s a wave; ride it; here’s how to ride it) than I do from someone else who just tosses out there where the planets are and what could go wrong wrong wrong.
I’ve lived in fear and ignorance for most of my life. Give me a clue what to expect and how to ride it out so I can learn something from it!

Wow I read the same site, it basically said I was this full moon was gonna kick my ass!!! Yikes!! I have a gemini sun,mercury, and acsendent. I usually take the mainstream sun sign horoscopes with a grain of salt,sometimes even the whole salt shaker hahaha. Mine said to get all my presents purchased before the 12th or they wouldn’t get done. hmmm……
This grand cross is going to hit both mine and my ex’s true nodes and Neptune. Anyone have an idea of what I should expect?
We cut off contact this past week, but will both be in the same class taking our final that day.

The last time the moon was less than 356,400 kilometers distant was on January 15, 1930 (356,397 kilometers) and the next time will be on January 1, 2257 (356,371 kilometers
The Moon, Merc, and Mars will all be pushing out-of-bounds end of Friday, going into Saturday.
This moon is more potent than normal due to its gravitational effects on tides and terra stress…this means more flooding, quake and volcanic activity, mudslides, polar ice breaks, etc.
There is more of a potential natural disaster theme underneath the mutable cross. But these are things you should always be prepared for in whatever region you are living in anyway.

I was actually trying to find the Saros cycle of the next eclipse solar eclipse
January 26th 2009 (Saros 131)
The point of the greatest eclipse will occur in the Indian Ocean 7 minutes and 54 seconds..
This eclipse is at 6 deg of aquarius
Feb 9th 2009 lunar partner hits 21 degrees Leo
This is 3 months after the mutable cross with a super moon in contact with the 21 deg
It will be making soft aspects to that mutable
grand cross but I don’t have all the angles mapped yet so I am till looking..
..I think we will experience some of the areas of manifestation now because of degree proximity..

Great…….I just realized that this full moon is conjunct my natal moon at 19/20 degree Gemini - With good old Uranus and Saturn still square it.

althera, yes most definitely. But it is complicated out there. Pluto moving to Capricorn was a paradigm shift and no one has their footing for starters.

I’m so relieved to have come across your blog! I must admit that I’ve been winding myself up unnecessarily about this full moon in Gemini, as all of the astro pages I’ve come across have painted a dismal picture that has left me quaking in my boots! However, reading your article has reminded me that no matter what the circumstances in life, it is how we deal with situations that arise which matters most. I will now walk away feeling prepared for whatever comes, rather than hiding under my covers and not emerging until it has passed (as I had originally intended to do tomorrow)!

The astrologer who predicted doom and gloom for Elsa’s friend may also have been subliminally picking up on the hype and tension around “The Day the Earth stood still”, general release 12/12/08 here in Ireland anyway. What we bring to our work colours our interpretations. I think we can make good outcomes from all that energy.Just need to roll with it!

Hmmm, I too read that certain astro web site - in November’s forecast in fact and got all worked up & worried. I forgot about about and then a HUGE unexpected situation arose with my boss to the extent that in trying to do the right thing I almost got fired instead. But within an hour I received amazing, broad-based support for my deed and it has turned into an opportunity. And yes I still have my job.. so far… LOL
The bad for me today……1st accident in my last 24 driving years. Although it was not my fault, the police could not take sides about who ran the red light. Unfortunately for me,no witnesses stopped even though it was 5pm and there was a lot of traffic.
The good for me today…….on my arrival to Columbus for work purposes, the car rental company had no other car to give me except a BIG GRAND MARQUIS which today saved me from either a trip to the emergency room or death. And then I found out that the Company I work for, will cover the insurance claim.
The effects of a full moon can be strange but you must appreciate the good in every bad situation.

I probably read the same series…here’s the thing, (if it was the same one)…I read all of them for all the signs, and this astrologer predicts major disruption for everyone during this full moon. The writer encouraged “get your packages mailed before that full moon” meaning stuff is likely to come up for everybody. I mean “get your packages mailed” is hardly the same thing as saying “get your affairs in order” so, like Elsa is saying (I think) I would not take it too much to heart. I will add, however, that I am getting all my packages mailed by Monday.
