Saturn Oppose Uranus: It’s Becoming Harder And Harder To Be An Astrologer
Astrology in real life
Uranus rules astrology and with Saturn opposing, career comes to mind. I really think astrology is going mainstream and seems to me to be ready to come up like some kind of rogue wave. However I am an astrologer and in reality I am finding it harder and harder.
The difficulty is not in finding clients. I have more clients then I have ever had in my career, it is in what I have to tell them that is so daunting and difficult.
Since Pluto went into Capricorn (remember it was in the sign before retrograding back into Sagittarius) along with Jupiter and Saturn in the Earth signs, most consultations require I tell someone something they don’t want to hear. Remember the days of, “you are wonderful and everything you do will come out right and with no consequences?” They are gone. Are they not gone? Who thinks they are not gone?
I have pal and a client… she is a financial adviser with a bunch of Capricorn. She is also having to introduce her clients to new realities and I will be candid to say I don’t think everyone is equipped to this. It’s difficult work.
I remember when I first started reading charts for pay. It was about 20 years ago and I remember feeling really bad after a consultation. The person just didn’t get what they wanted and my husband at the time, with his 5 planets in Scorpio clued me in.
“People show up with their chart… no one has ever looked at it before and they want someone to go WOW when they do. And they probably want the astrologer to tell them, yep! You’re going to win the lottery and it’s right about… yes, it’s next week!”
I laughed at the time but he was not far off.
I am finding myself having to introduce realities that are largely unwelcome to the overwhelming majority of clients these days. This is not to say they are not accepting this because they most certainly are. The truth rings as such but that does not mean it is fun. It’s not fun for them and it’s not fun for me, however it is effective. I will absolutely get you on a road to a better life but by God, it’s not going to be cheap or easy.
I don’t mean “cheap” as in cost, I mean it’s not cheesy. It’s solid. You are going to have to work (Saturn) for your revolution (Uranus) and that is just all there is to it. So here’s my wondering…
Are other astrologers clutching it up, coming in with the cold water or no? I think one of the manifestations of this opposition would be to ground (Saturn) astrology (Uranus) for practical use in daily life (Virgo). It’s not very romantic is it?
I feel like the astrologer at the end of the rope. When you get to the end of your rope (or if you’d prefer to avoid this condition) then you call me and while I feel very competent this has turned into a job that takes mad skills on many levels and guts. Yeah, you actually have to have guts to do this job these days.
In whatever case it makes me sad somewhat. It’s like wanting to go the playground but having work to do where the work is not just important but critical and I think this part is universal.
Who can relate to the idea that it has become critical you do your job and do it well?

Gee I dunno…isn’t it all perception anyway?
There are a lot of people out there that aren’t or still don’t “get it” (maybe for the best)
Seems to me that time is speeding up too (quite literally?) and everyone wants whatever right now!
I believe we’re living in fast times and they’re getting faster and more difficult. I think some people want to know what’s ahead of them, and don’t want to hear the shit they have to work on, they just want the fix, you know, the “how do I deal with it and what do I do, and make it simple please”. Not everyone thinks this mind you, but maybe the majority.
Sure some people “think” they’re willing to deal with it all and work at doing what they can to improve their lives and situations…but, wouldn’t everyone want it all to be easy if they could? Well, I know I would…lol…yet, sometimes I tend to make it more difficult then it needs to be (Sun in Libra, Cancer moon with Scorpio ascendant)
20 years ago was anther deal entirely…
There was a different perception of astrologers…a different time, one-hellova lot slower times…I think more laid back.
The more aware you (Elsa) become, the more difficult “it” becomes
You just sound conscientious and that’s a good thing…
I’m not an astrologer (though my Cap mom is and has been for nearly 40 years)I’ve lived with it a long time ![]()
I have Sun conj Saturn, and I have always longed to find an astrologer/Tarot reader who would keep it real instead of doing the flowery pep talk thing.
As a financial consultant I tried to talk some people out of doing some pretty stupid things while Pluto was in Sagittarius and sometimes this worked. [For instance they were keen to buy second properties.] Other times it did not. What is amazing now is the huge shift in attitude. Before people were convinced that assets always increased in value especially real estate. Now they are saying, I don’t want that anymore, how do I simplify my life? So to me this is a welcome change in some ways, beacause people are open to simplifying their lives. Still their is a lot of fear out there and now part of my job seems to be about helping people to see the silver lining in the dark clouds.
PEOPLE ARE FREAKING OUT…
We lost 540,000 thousand jobs last month
Thats in one month.
At this moment in time we are feeling a change.
One very large planetary conjunction that happened in the 60’s is being reactivated.
This is an extremely big cosmic event.
Plus the last Jupiter/Saturn Conj in an earth sign
in 2000
and a few active eclipse series we just experienced
Think Predictable Frequency Waves going up and down are traveling in different directions and all of a sudden the streams of energy are together.
When this energy first meets it causes an extreme
power surge and movement and readjustment to make everything work and stable…
Then just when you understand this energy
Someone adds a new frequency wave while they pull out another frequency wave. Substituting and old way(wave) for a new way(wave)
Pluto was demoted as a planet into something else and as that happened power structures of the 1900’s started to weaken. Then it moves into Virgo and it activates a generational switch.
People need astrologers more at anytime than they have before. Maybe right now they want instant
but instant is not going to happen anymore.
It will take time for the world to adjust from
ME ME ME to WE WE WE
Even the Arabs who thought they had it all figured out by raising the price of oil now feel the pain of Pluto’s demotion and move into Virgo. Oil has dropped two $40.00 dollars a barrel..It his giving them shortfalls in there own budgets plus the rest of there business investments are toppling..
..(The car companies are failing and our government is DEMANDING THEM TO MAKE ENERGY EFFICIENT CARS)More and More change is to come
To me the most perplexing things about Pluto if you look in the texts of astrology and many of them are written by Pluto in Leo generation.
They never explain Pluto in Capricorn. It is missing from many texts. All of this is very telling…We are leaving the age of Pisces and truely living in the Age of Aquarius
Astrologers see the wave frequencies the general public does not and they are struggling and its always easy to shoot the messenger..
You see it they can’t thats why you are feeling the disconnect
The rules have changed its noit the same playground..So you are not sure how to play on the new toys without hurting yourself..
So put on her helmet(saturn) and play safe
We are a complex breed … us humans, but like homogenized milk, I t’ink me bought a bunch of bunk when homogenizing crossed over. From my vantage point as in ‘over the hill’ I get the picture that if I’m gonna be living here (on Earth) a tad bit or a big bit longer, I need to be very familiar with my parts, my make-up. Let the milk be raw and I will know what I taste, what I smell, what I see, what I touch.
Things just got so homogenized by advertising in all its forms, we/I forgot how to know the truth. What you Elsa, offer me as an astrologer is your truth in advertising: I hear your story at home; your story in a teaching setting; your story when you consult with me. Consistency in your crazy (in the best-worst sense of that word)fashion makes me love the craziness that is me.
We will need to be a lot more crazy to re-write the rules Saturn is demanding of us all. It’s a great challenge, and only the truth with compassion like yours will lay stepping stones through the shit. I’m watching, I’m listening and wading through.
Thank you, akasally. I love your writing voice and attitude, you always leave me feeling good. ![]()
Elsa, my pleasure to support you, because you girl are servicing a whole lot of humanity.
Alan Oken gave a talk at the AA conference and to strongly paraphrase his message, and one that I have heard from other sources, you just tell them.
What you say and the way you say it, is exactly what they need to hear or they wouldn’t be on the end of a phone with you, or sitting opposite you, they’d be with another astrologer.
In a way this plugs into wavelengths mentioned above, you have a unique wavelength that attracts people who resonate to you. Some of them may just initially resist a bit of fine tuning!
So don’t temper what you say for anyone EP. It’s perfect
On this job of telling people what they don’t want to hear…I’ve been having to do this a lot lately as well. I just wrote a bit on it about my students. We spent the last 10-12 years on this “everyone is equal, everyone is wonderful” self-esteem kick in education and not much reality was discussed. I have this whole group of kids(and their parents) that I am having to tell to wake up..I know you are only 12, but you have to start working or you are not going to make it. They expect kudos with no effort and don’t perform without instant gratification. I’m thinking Capricorn doesn’t offer that very often. They may be wonderful, but I’m thinking in this reality, work will trump wonderful anyday.
Tell me more, Heather, please. What was this self-esteem kick missing in education? What are you going to tell your kids about waking up? (I want to work in education, too.)
well, i’m either going to become a good teacher or i’m gonna’ crack, so, yes.
and then there’s the shoring up my family and connecting/reconnecting bonds in a number of places and it’s all work… well worth doing, but work.

You nailed this one, Elsa. I am spending more time attempting to come up with creative, tactful (lots of Libra here) ways to tell people to get a freaking life and pull their collective heads out!
Yes, we have arrived at a time and place where there are no quick fixes on any level. It’s all about facing reality and realizing it’s going to take concerted effort to resolve one’s difficulties.
Of course, I have a Sun-Saturn square as well as Uranus trine my Sun, so like you I get this. But, dang, it’s definitely NOT FUN!
