Astrology Today - Faith And Arrows

October 29th, 2008 @ 4:44 am by Elsa

My eye on the sky

scorpioThe Moon in Scorpio is conjunct Mars. Both are square Neptune so don’t be surprised if confusion reigns.

More specifically you may feel angry and not know at who or why. It’s hard to know what to do when Neptune is mashed up with Mars, it’s even harder to fight. We talked about this a few days ago…

My sister equated Mars in the 12th house (Neptune) with the idea of shooting your arrows from deep in the ocean. Her point was that you have little to say about where the arrows might land considering they’d be taken by the currents and all.

This does not make the person ineffective necessarily but it does force them to have faith their arrow will land where it is supposed to land regardless of their intention.

Today we are all underwater like that… oh well.

I feel like I can speak to this one, altho’ Mars isn’t my 12th house, but natal Sun & natal Mars are in Pisces in 8th house. I usually have no real energy or spirit (in the conventional “Aries” sense) and if I do have a burst of anything, it is hard to sustain. And I get called lazy. But somehow, I always get where I want to be. Mostly by just thinking about it a lot (which I know sounds weird but I write down what I want and read it to myself every day.)
I’m susceptible to feeling like I “should” be different - more of a go getter, maximize my potential, swim upstream (blah blah blah!). I’m getting past that now that Elsa has talked about currents lately (thank you!)- I figure I just am how I am.
Moon and Mars are transiting my natal Neptune today (in 4th house Libra) and I am currently on fire working on my house, tho’! But not feeling any anger.

It feels like so long since I’ve heard any positive aspects in relationship to anything.

Brought to my knees by EVERYTHING, I went back to my Kadampa meditation practice last week after a few month absense. I’m starting anew working with my mind and my reactions rather than actual facts and results.

I say WHATEVER alot. I say ‘hmmm could be WORSE alot.

It seems to be helping me at a what appears to be a difficult time in all areas. It just wasn’t helping me to be upset or worried when I really have so little control over anything than my own response to situations.

Almost the minute I decided to make this shift, my 20 yr old away at school called me to say that another kid had sucker punched him and knocked out his front tooth. He had these movie star quality teeth. He’s a virgo and didn’t let me know for 3 days until he had worked out the entire treatment plan himself.

Despite my initial reaction that I should have involved to ensure ‘the perfect outcome’, he did a really great job. Kids are really a good example of you pointing your arrow and the current taking over.

Hopefully the universal archer will figure out how to pay for $7000 of dental work.

Wax on, wax off.

:-)

i have these mars/scorp/neptune mashups natally so it’s not as unconfortable for me as it is for some.

i REALLY like the shooting arrows under water analogy, as the zen of it appeals to me greatly. and i’ve found using that neptune buzz to let go and just trust when i’m upset about something is one of the most powerful tools i have.

I’ll tell you a circumstance where you can be damned glad the universe intervened. Say you shoot an arrow in anger and then regret it in the morning? With Mars neptune, there is significant chance it will not hit as aimed.

Some people are not so lucky. ;)

I have a 12th house Mars myself, so I’m used to firing arrows underwater. I say “Things work out the way they’re supposed to” a lot.

I was randomly pissed off this morning without an explanation or an outlet. Now I know why!

Ms Scarlett: teeth/bones=Saturn. That’s some Sun/Saturn transit your kid’s having!
I’m better today. The more I do nothing the more upset I get so I just have to stop screwing around and get to work!

Maybe a good aspect of Buddhism is that you won’t really know if your arrow lands in the right place or the wrong place for a couple of life times. By then you could be either too old/ or too evolved to care anymore.

Elsa- You nailed this one! There is a whole lot of shaking going on, even if it is down near the bottom of the sea. I have paddled my surfboard out away from the rocks, but it was a bit of a rough start.

I have a 12th H Virgo Mars. I wonder if the Virgo efficiency is so thwarted in this house that it takes extra effort to get my momentum going. It seems to be that way. And yet, I must admit, and just this afternoon I was thinking of this, that there have been the tiniest decisons and intuition-following that somehow led me to a chain of opportunities and events that changed the direction of my life in a major way. I couldn’t have MADE them happen if I tried. So hmm, maybe the energy of a 12th house Mars is activated by heeding the subconcious/intuition, and it’s more of a push that gets the ball rolling rather than a “doing” kind of energy. Like being receptive to the energy and letting it carry you.
Just thinking out loud :)

Ms. Scarlett - The Buddhist would probably argue is no wrong place for the arrow to land; wherever the arrow lands becomes, by definition, the “right” place, because it’s the place that it is.
