As I am sure you’ve noticed, things are changing around here. I am placing more of an emphasis on consultations for one thing and I think I just had a brainstorm.

A lot of people prefer to consult by email rather than on the phone. Sometimes this is because they are out of the country and there is some impediment to calling but for others the idea of making a phone call is overwhelming for some reason so this is a good option.

I talk faster than I write so I can communicate more over the phone plus there can be a dialogue which is typically but not always an advantage. There are times when it is clear to me (and the client) that the lack of ability to interrupt the conversation is a big boon. If you are the kind of person to hire someone to tell you something and then not let them talk (it takes one to know one) then you know what I mean. In that case email is the only way to actually get what you’ve paid for!

Other people may be on a budget and they want pure information. They don’t want to pay to hear their voice, they want to pay to hear mine and in other cases, people just recognize themselves as slow(er) processors which is very smart. People who thing and feel deeply may like to take time (sometimes days) to assimilate what I have communicated so for people like this, email is definitely preferable.

I like to work by email as well but have limited this in the past because I have a bad wrist. I write a lot as it is and very frankly, there is just no way I can type all day without losing my ability all together (Saturn in Virgo) so there is a built in limitation there. Can I write all day? No I can’t. My wrist starts to burn (Mars Mercury) and then gives out all together.

I mentioned this to HQ and his brother, Mr Wrench who are helping me behind the scenes. HQ asked if I had considered using voice recognition software and this is when it hit me. I could do an email consult (that is consult via monologue) on video. Eureka! It seems this would have all the advantages of email but none of the costs.

See, part of the demand of consulting by email it there is no inflection in the voice. This means I have to really concentrate on composing what I say because I know the words will be weighed very heavily. Talking the consult on video would take care of much of this. The client would be able to see judge exactly how seriously I meant something by watching my demeanor, plus I could get a lot more said.

As most are aware I get a lot of information across in my 1-5 minute videos so what do you think of a 15-20 minute video that is expressly about your chart or your problem? All private of course.

I hate to gloat (yeah right) but I think I am on to something! What do you think?
