Election Day - Who Is Voting Early? How Do You Feel About This Election POLL
Ask the collective
The soldier and I have both filled out our ballots and will drop them off this week. As anyone who remotely follows astrology (blogs) knows, Saturn and Uranus will be in exact opposition on Election day, Neptune having turned direct the day before. Add all that up and anything is possible.
Personally, I can’t wait to be rid of these ballots. People in my circle do not discuss politics much (at least not overtly) but I feel (or at least I imagine) that all my relationships are strained because of it which is something I’ve never experienced before. If this opposition is in tight aspect to personal planets in your chart, I bet you’re having a similar experience.
How do you feel about this election?

I’m not a US citizen but I very much hope that what the Collective gets is something it can learn positively from.
I can NOT wait for this to be over. We are all in for hard times and major upheaval no matter who the figurehead is. And I gave up the notion that my vote ‘counts’ a long time ago, so all I can do is cast a sincere vote and vow to take care of me and mine.
I usually prefer to vote on election day. However, I’m leaning towards voting early because I do not wish to be hassled at the polls. (I had my reg. improperly stripped once before, in 2000.) The downside is that early voting is difficult here; you have to make an excuse, and I’m not sure I have a good one.

I am SO over it. Can’t wait for it to be done.
the saturn/uranus action is sitting on top of half my chart. many experience is pretty much what you describe. i am both anxious for it to be over, and concerned about what’s going to happen regardless of who wins.
Not voting early. Like Max, I’d need an excuse. If voting early meant I wouldn’t have to listen to any more campaigning, I’d make up an excuse.
Glad Colorado doesn’t require a reason, but I had one anyway…2 jobs on Tuesdays. Plus, it was nice to sit down at the computer and investigate the judges/amendments before I voted. No stress, no lines.
I am Canadian, and I think there are a lot of countries all over the world that would like to see a change for the US.
I know this likely won’t be popular to say however, this is a sentiment that is shared by many outside the states, the US government needs to just stop being the world policemen, start taking care of your own! I cried watching the news footage of New Orleans, and still cannot believe the way things went down.
I would like to see a president that wants peace and prosperity for the people of the United States and not one that wants a war that uses the excuse of saving people from some evil dictator or atrocities or whatever trumped up excuse, when the real reason is a stronghold in oil country, or a base to build even more missile sites. There have been many other countries with evil dictators and atrocities and ethnic cleansing (that being such a benign phrase) that have been ignored, since there was no money or strategic sites to be exploited.
I am just so f tired of dirty corrupt governments, the USA isn’t the only one for sure, lying to their countrymen and sending them off to kill and be killed for lies and to line the pockets of the corporations that feed off death.
I won’t even start on religion. I think I have likely said too much already :/
I’m feeling passionate, fatigued, frustrated, and envious of anyone who gets to vote early!! I’m also feeling some emotional and even physical pain over the deep divisiveness - even ugliness - expressed not so much by the candidates, but by seemingly ordinary Americans. First it simmered, then it bubbled to the surface, then it erupted like a volcano. Yup, it’s all out there now, and the question is, what are we going to do with it?
I’m voting early. I am currently starting nursing school and working full time, so my schedule (for the next 15 months) leaves basically one day per week where I’m not on the go for 16+ hours straight, and voting day doesn’t fall on that one day per week. Besides that, this election can’t be over soon enough for me. January can’t come soon enough for me. If I could fast forward time, I would (although, the older I get, the faster it goes anyway).
We need to get through the process of getting someone new in office and get into the real action of getting this country back into some semblance of stability, if that is at all possible. And I don’t think it’s going to happen until well after the election is over and a new President is sitting in office.
I’m a European citizen and am always surpised about the undemocratic way of voting in the US.
In Holland we have multiple parties all with a number of seats. So no, left and right, black and white, right and wrong.
I hope Obama wins though! Otherwise the whole thing is probably rigged, again…
Voting on the day of. I’ve never had trouble with being listed but that can probably be chalked up to having a strange unduplicated name.
Am truly scared about this election after hearing technical presentations about the EASY ways of hacking the electronic voting machines. EASY meaning that if a particular sticker is unsealed towards the end of the day all of the votes in that machine won’t be counted because it’s an “unsecure” machine. Simple lines of code that would never be detected could change the balance of the votes, no reliable paper trail, etc. etc. Very scared in that sense.
Angry because I’m educated enough to be aware of the ways in which our constitution is being violated and frustrated as I don’t seem to have reach/power/traction to make a difference.
Curious because our local election is using a version of IRV in trial and that seems to be a much better method and allows for some diversity at the local level.
A close friend is of the opinion that our country is as close to civil war as we’ve ever been since the last civil war. I don’t know that I agree but that indicates the level of frustration people are feeling.
A long time ago I dated a guy who was opposite me on the political spectrum and was surprisingly involved in his caucus. He actually came back and tried to date me a few years later when he was ready for a serious relationship and said to me “because you always treated me with respect - even when you didn’t agree with me or my choices”
I remember that so very clearly. It was an amazing compliment. I didn’t date him because I was already seeing someone else but it was a nice lunch and we left it on good terms.
My current partner and I agree - to a point. There are some particular issues (especially women stuff) that he doesn’t get but is open to learning about and listening to me on. It is somewhat easier to date someone who is an immigrant or a son of immigrants because they seem to come with a built in awareness of a world that is larger than just our country - which is a relief in the discussion playing field.
Ha, ha, it’s sitting right smack dab on my asc/dec axis and on my saturn, and doing a whole lotta other stuff. I have my ballot in my bag, need to fill out and mail this week too. I can’t wait for this to be over, whatever happens, I’m going to cry either way. I’ve never cared this much about politics before, but I’ve educated myself and sometimes I wish I’d stayed under my rock.
Already voted. Already quite sick of this. I don’t have much hope for anything though. The Evil Empire of Hate seems to win every damn time and the country is so 51% evil/49% accepting of late…
The Saturn-Uranus opposition doesn’t polarize people in my country when it comes to the US election. Our entire political left-right axis lies within the range of the Democratic party anyway. I(’m conditioned to) believe that redistribution of wealth by the state is a good thing;) (And my experience is that it works very well!)
In particular, I hope you’ll get more affordable health care and ditto college fees with a change of government. Not to mention women’s issues - the Republican stance is insane.
In eager anticipation of President Obama’s European Tour - Good luck, America:)
The same way I feel about every election, honestly: every day after June seems to drag, drag, drrraaaaaag as I’m inundated by more and more political schmooze and generic sound-bites-by-committee that have no effect on me since my mind was made up directly after the primaries. Enough already!
But I’ll be voting day-of. My polling station is all of three blocks away, full of little old ladies, Kool-Aid, and cookies, and I’ll get to try to educate more people about the Libertarian party. (In my last district, I was the sole Libertarian out of about 1,000 people.
) What could be more fun?
“… the US government needs to just stop being the world policemen, start taking care of your own!”
A sentiment I’ve had since civics class at age 12. You aren’t telling (most of) us anything we don’t already know, it’s convincing the asshats in charge that’s the problem.

I sure hope it was understood that I was not railing against the US people or the soldiers in the war.. my words were all about the government.
Oh, yeah, Daemoness! That was just my 1/10 of a rant for the morning. ![]()

I’m very hopeful and very anxious about this election. Tension is so high I am afraid there will be some sort of tragedy or dramatic event before or soon after.
I’m not voting early because my polling place is at the end of my street in the little latino church. I can just walk up the street that morning and vote easy peasy.
I am fortunate to be on the same side as my partner in this one which is a new experience for me. My parents are divided as are a lot of people I’ve heard of.
