Last night…
“We should try some of our new wine,” the soldier said. “The wine sold to us by the blond haired woman in the liquor store, I had to look at the ground when she talked to us so you’d not get pissed.”
I laughed. “You didn’t have to look at the ground. I wasn’t jealous of her, she’s blond! I know you don’t like blond’s and anyway, you can look wherever you like.”
“Right. No thank you. I’m going to keep my eyes down whenever there is another woman around for the rest of my life. It’s just not worth setting you off. I don’t want to die,” he said with a grin that was serious.
“Oh, okay. Well I guess, better safe than sorry.”
“Yeah, I know you know I am not attracted to blonds but I’m taking no chances because you’re unpredictable.”
I looked at him evenly, “What? I’m not denying it am I?”
The soldier has Uranus mashed with both Venus and his Moon. Unpredictable women = yum

unpredictable!
I always thought looking away or “trying not to look” at another woman while in the company of your own woman was just the same. It sort of gives the intent away, the intent that the woman is not half bad and desevred of a look but the action is to refrain? To show that one is doing the right thing according to your own woman.
Better to look directly at woman and not show any intent; “to enjoy what might be nice to look at”. It gets pretty hard in the end, especially if one likes the opposite sex.

One of my favorite books in the world has a scene where a well-known, high-priced whore (and unknown assassin) is walking through a park to meet a friend. Since it’s a nice day, it’s very crowded and the passage describes the reactions people have to seeing her walk past:
“Young men on the strut watched her with calculated interest; young men walking with the ladies they were courting glanced at her and blushed while their companions hastily tugged them in a different direction; men who were making an obligatory public appearance with their wives stared straight ahead, while their wives looked from [her] to their husbands’ pale, tight-lipped faces and back to [her] again.”
If someone’s going to be jealous *raises hand*, then they’re going to be jealous whether or not there’s any whiff of impropriety. It’s sweet that he tries, though.

Yup. The situation and your reaction don’t really matter as much as the person’s internal response. If their predisposition is to be jealous then they will be so, regardless of what you say and do. It’s their nature.
