Yesterday I walked into the living room just as the soldier who was watching TV, burst out in a loud guffaw. “What is it?” I asked. “What are you watching?”

“Our life,” he said. “It’s our life on here.”

I never watch TV but I walked around to glance at the screen. 50 First Dates was on.

“Oh yeah,” I said. I am sorry about that.”

With the Sun, Moon, Mercury and Mars in Libra it’s a good day to be superficial and hopefully ya’ll read here often enough to know I say that without judgment.

“Superficial” is a word with a unwarranted negative connotation like “manipulating”.

People who are pleasant are likely to have a pleasant day.

anesa, good question. While I don’t relate to the fear and oversensitivity Dx, with that Mars Mercury conjunction in my chart, anger is always an issue for me. You can just count me furious at all times and you’d not be far off. (Swearing below the break)

I stated on the Paul Newman post that I have had the ambition to not only live well but to die well and Jessica asked:

“Why do you say 8 years old, Elsa? Isn’t that about the age you got into astrology, too?”

Jessica, it is. For this Capricorn rising, 8 years old (give or take) was a defining moment in life. This coincides with the first Saturn square which is invariably inordinately important for for Saturn types.

My son has Saturn conjunct his Sun and I wrote about his first Saturn square a few times. One example I also went on record to say I thought it quite possible his life would never be as difficult as what he endured 7-8 years old and this the the point:

I cop to being frustrated. I have gained 12-14 pounds since the soldier moved in, fact is we like to eat. I realize I look very thin on the videos but that’s a Neptune trick. It’s a camera angle that makes me look like one of those Artlist Dogs with the big head and the little body. The problem is I eat too much and the other problem is my ability to exercise is hindered by the fact I have a hernia.

Now I see the surgeon about the hernia tomorrow and hopefully it will be repaired without delay but even then, I am sure there will be some sort of recovery time and the idea activity will be curtailed is a given. All this adds up to delay! Delay and blocks which are Saturn things of course and if you don’t push against them what you get is oppressed. What you get is depressed so today I decided I’d had enough.

Last night Busted posed some questions on the Paul Newman blog in regards to Venus Neptune type stuff. That is Judge Roy Bean was in love with Lillie Langtry who he’d never met. I thought the questions were interesting but responded saying I could not get my mind on it because the soldier and I had spent the day “making plans for the apocalypse”.

I see no point in denying the challenge out there. Venus and Mars are both in the signs of their detriment with Mercury hotting up Mars. Feelings are disturbed with the Moon is squaring Pluto and with Jupiter in Capricorn, the sign of it’s fall, to say people are scared of the future is an understatement.

So what will help? Knowing we are all in this together maybe?

Earlier this month I asked for feedback - Your Opinion Of The Elsa Blog and satori popped up with a request for more of the soldier’s candor. In that vein here’s this:

We were talking about a friend of mine…

“She’s in her 30’s? Well that explains it, ” he said. I realized he thought she was older, maybe in her 40’s, like us. “No wonder she’s wasting time with such a jerk.”

“Yeah? You think it’s immaturity?”

“No, she’s in her 30’s what does she care who she dates? She got her kids. What’s she got to worry about? You get our age and you want someone to share your life but her age?” He shrugged. “Our age you want to find someone good and then keep ‘em. You’ve got no time to be wasting on a jerk…”

Do you waste time on jerks? Why?

Last week I mentioned Judge Roy Bean and Lillie Langtry, the woman he idolized. The soldier told me he related to Bean’s personality (he was he hanging judge) and that his love for me is as enduring and all encompassing Roy’s love for Lillie whom he’d never met (Venus Neptune).

He thought we should see the movie so I got it so we had it on hand today… the day it’s star, Paul Newman died.

I have always liked Paul Newman but I have never in my life been as impressed with a philanthropist as I was the day Newman went on the Oprah show (about 10 years ago) and explained he’d be dying. Yep. He told Oprah he was getting old and asked her if she might take over his charities when he died. Now how cool is that?

It was one of the most heartening things I had ever seen in my life. Turns out some people not only know how to live well, they also know how to die (well) and seeing as this has been my ambition since I was 8 years old… well if he can do it, I can do it and that’s all I have to say.

The Moon in Virgo has crossed Saturn and applies in opposition to Uranus in Pisces. I cop to being fascinated by oppositioin in astrology and in life as witnessed by the zillion posts I’ve written on the Aries / Libra axis.

I am just as fascinated with the Virgo / Pisces axis and thought (Virgo) about abstract concepts (Pisces) on the way to the library (Virgo) where I borrowed some movies (Pisces).
