Before I Get Anymore Pissed Off: A Fierce Diet

Astrology in real life

dog1.jpgI cop to being frustrated. I have gained 12-14 pounds since the soldier moved in, fact is we like to eat. I realize I look very thin on the videos but that’s a Neptune trick. It’s a camera angle that makes me look like one of those Artlist Dogs with the big head and the little body. The problem is I eat too much and the other problem is my ability to exercise is hindered by the fact I have a hernia.

Now I see the surgeon about the hernia tomorrow and hopefully it will be repaired without delay but even then, I am sure there will be some sort of recovery time and the idea activity will be curtailed is a given. All this adds up to delay! Delay and blocks which are Saturn things of course and if you don’t push against them what you get is oppressed. What you get is depressed so today I decided I’d had enough.

It’s true I can’t exercise as I would like to but all this means is I better get my ass on a diet so that’s what I am going to do. But I am not going on just any old diet, I am going on a fierce diet! I am going on the most effective diet anyone has ever seen in their life (except for me who once lost 50+ in a matter of weeks once focused) because hey:

The soldier is turning back into a rod and I will be damned if I am going to stand next to him; his dis-empowered girlfriend. No, actually I think I will race his ass to goal and win, wearing a smirk the whole time because you know what? I’m mad as hell. I am sick of people in the gym looking at me saying, “What happened to her?”

Who is with me? Anyone else wanna go on a fierce diet?

Claire - Gotcha. I have a Cap rising and well aware if I don’t get on top this it’s liable to be a whole year of gaining… :(

OMG in the past two years I have gained 16-18 lbs to what I am now, and about 8 of those are in the past 6 months alone since I’ve been with current BF. Now I actually in the past 9 months or so have been kinda “who cares?” which is WEIRD since I too lost about 50 lbs. (over a year and a half) 5 years ago and I maintained it really well, at times was too skinny even. Too much good living.

I just came here before hitting the grocery store to get some food for my diet I was planning to start tomorrow! Great timing. Compared to average I probably am not looking bad, but I feel like a cow and when I’m thinner I get hit on all day long. i don’t care about that so much, although I admit the attention is fun.

Controlling food and eating healthy (lotsa Virgo) has never been a problem, even as a child, but exercise is sooooo not what i want to do. Sigh. Not currently with a gym, but in the past that was a big help. Might consider walking 30 blocks one way home from work.

I am very up for this myself, time feels like it’s running out. Plus my BF never saw me at my fighting weight– he will go absolutely nuts and that might be fun. Then I can get him to do my bidding–mwahhh!!!! ;)

Any suggestions for a fierce diet? I’m thinking everything in moderation with an eye on higher protein, higher fiber, and lots of veg. No more than two fruits a day. Two cups skim milk in the form of caffe latte because it helps fill me up. Very little bought/prepared/frozen food because it’s too hard to control what you’re eating.

Diet tip, if you can stomach it: heat up a Boca soy chicken patty (spicy is good) cut in small pieces, toss with salad and no dressing. Spear a piece of “chicken” to eat with each bite of salad to make it less plain. It’s about 150 calories, and I don’t even count the salad because there is so much fiber and vitamins I think they’re not quite the same calories as say, a piece of bread.

“Any suggestions for a fierce diet?”

Yeah. Whatever you are going to do, do it every day without fail with no cheating and no exception!! To me it’s a big fuck you! It’s a challenge and an ‘I’ll show you, watch this!!”

In other word, fire up your Mars!

You won’t get much sympathy from me on the 12-14 pounds, Elsa, because I’ve got at least 30 to lose, and I know I’m going to have to fight my lazy, calorie-absorbing butt every inch of the way, but I don’t care! I’m charging up my Mars: bring it ON! Viewing it as a challenge rather than a chore really helps.

As for me, I’ve stopped eating wheat and dairy and it’s working wonders for me. I don’t normally buy cutting out whole food groups, but my skin’s better, my weight’s down, and I’m far less bloated. Bring on the merciless regime! My Mars is all over /that/.

Suggestions for a fierce dieter?
1. Keep a food log. Dumb, I know, but works wonders.
2. Keep a strict eye on portion control. Most people eat far, /far/ more than they actually need. (This is especially true when it comes to restaurant portions: a Denny’s breakfast could feed a family of four for a week.)
3. Beware of liquid calories (coke, coffee, fruit juice).
4. I’m not sure I buy the “grazing”/mini-meal line of thinking (it’s hard for people with busy schedules manage to figure out exactly when it’s snacking time), but if you must, combine fruits or veggies with a dab of protein (peanut butter, cashews, little cheese cubes, etc.)

Hi Elsa, the book you mentioned here - “Heal your Body” by Louise L. Hay - lists “oversensitivity, often represents fear and shows a need for protection. Fear may be a cover for hidden anger and a resistance to forgive” for fat issues.

Do you relate to that kind of issues? And is it in reaction to those issues that you have decided to go on a fierce diet and have you chosen a timing based on your chart? Because I feel that since I’ve had a rejection problem in my life I still struggle very much on losing the pounds I need to lose, no matter what exercise or diet I go through. And I’ve had weight issues all my life so in terms of knowledge on “how to lose weight” I believe I know quite a lot.

Okay…I’m convicted…this anger is chipping away at my soul…perhaps it would be better used to chip away at the pounds….off to find fitday.com

Gah. I’m Cap rising at 0 degrees, and it seems like Jupiter has been in Capricorn FOREVER already, and even after it gets out of Capricorn my first house doesn’t end until 12 Aquarius. I’m almost ready to give up at this point. Since Jupiter has been on the ascendant I have tried:

Fat Loss 4 Idiots
Low Carb
Being a vegan
The raw food diet
Nutrisystem
Diet drugs
I bought Alli but I keep forgetting to take it

I walk three miles a day, do weight training and have tried pilates and kettlebells.

I’ve gained 30 pounds. I gave up nicotine and gained ten more.

I’m thinking I might as well just wait until the end of the year. Is there really even any way to combat Jupiter in the first?

Italy has taught me that eating well is the best way to stay slim. Lost of veg, fruit, meat, fish, pasta, bread and olive oil - but skip all the butter and cream etc. And don’t eat added sugar, except for special treats. There’s no need to get hungry, ever. It only makes you unhappy, and doesn’t do much in the long run.

But I suppose this is a slow route, well I am taking everything slow right now (I have morphed into the personification of saturn in virgo).

I think it’s more like wrangling a really unsatisfying truce, eva! Some people end up pregnant as well without even trying/wanting to be.

I think after the tragic loss of a child, it is just something small enough to control — something you can actually do something aboout — and get predictable results after staring in the face of an unmerciful god — a small antidote to the land where nothing work, nothing at all, no matter how hard you try or how fierce you are or how much you care. The Land of Diet has rules and rewards. God bless you, Elsa. My sister lost a child.

What a relief! So sorry, Elsa. I hope it didn’t seem insensitive. I meant well as it brought back memories.

Well , I’ve been on a lifelong fierce diet LOL so good luck to y’all!!! It feels good to be in control. Currently I try to love two smoothies a day of Melaleuca Attain with delicious (haha) vanilla rice milk and a few mouth watering berries, o wow. It’s good for losing about a pound a day, combined with an hour walking and 1/2 hour on the rowing machine.

O, and a few pieces of brocolli and a good multi vitamin.

I have Mars at the Midheaven in Virgo square Uranus so I can be facist fanatic on a diet. It’s kind of a thrill to succeed at something others find so hard. AND it’s as good a place to express that energy as any. It keeps it out of my relationships and business. I have to be hard driving about something so it might as well be something positive like my health.

NO problem, Nancy. I am the one who does not make it clear and I can’t help that actually.

Regarding diet, it is night here, so eating is done for the day. My biggest success was drinking 2 liters of water, eating no sweets, and I rode my bike for an hour. How are you future skinnies? Going for the broccoli?

Finished up with about 1200 calories, had light toast, protein, veg & salad, two fruits and three skim milk caffe lattes to fill me up & warm me up.

Walked 30 blocks home from work. Tomorrow night is a new obstacle: making dinner for the BF while watching my intake, will basically have to watch him eat and drink. :)

Today: SUCCESS!! Good luck everybody!

I’m not a huge fan of diets, I expect them to be impracticable, but working right now with women who eat only salads for lunch, I have to say that it is important to consume: fibers, proteins, beans to keep energized. I think rice with prepared vegetables on it like lentil sauce can help, well maybe brown rice. Vegetable soups, cooked vegetable dishes, even lightly cooked, are easier to digest and more filling than salad. Kashi Go Lean is a good cereal to eat in the morning because its full of fiber and will keep you energized and not hungry. Though it also tastes sugary. A good bread to eat is Ezekiel 4:9. I think eating greens is also important. Beans, greens, fibers, and proteins (escarole, seaweed, spinach, well, haha, I don’t know how good seaweed is for you). God I’m hungry now. It’s midnight. No no, ok maybe. I’m going to rally in support of the 6 meals a day thing too. Does spicy food make you eat less? It does to me. Russian food isn’t very spicy. I’m not used to it. My Chinese friend says it makes her eat more.

I’m not a future skinny (I don’t have the frame for it) but eating was possibly the only thing I got right today

Ahem.

I just weighed myself. Three times.

I weigh 200 lbs. … which I haven’t weighed in 20 years.

I was “stuck” around 230 most of that time, but … 200!!!!!!!!!!!!

This time next week I expect that number to start with a 1. And I don’t ever want it to creep back over.

\o/ For the first time in years I feel like I might actually have some control over this shit. Go me!

Shannon - FANTASTIC! I can just imagine your body changing. I’ve not weighed (does me no good at all) but have stuck to my diet 90% and I am pretty sure I’m progressing too. :)

I too am grooving along. Not so much with exercise (sigh) but food is healthy, balanced and no more than 1200 cal/day. After a few days I just kind of go into default mode, not even tempted to cheat. (I am not attracted to junk, my problem has been portions.) If anyone else has that problem, believe me, stick with it a few days and you truly will not be as hungry.

Shannon–good for you!!!!! Just keep in mind– all you have to do is keep plugging along and success is yours. Time is going to pass anyway, and even little bits and pieces will add up, so you WILL get there. Congrats!!
