Using Your Mind To Change Your Feelings aka The Virgo / Pisces Axis In Astrology
Astrology in real life
The Moon in Virgo has crossed Saturn and applies in opposition to Uranus in Pisces. I cop to being fascinated by oppositioin in astrology and in life as witnessed by the zillion posts I’ve written on the Aries / Libra axis.
I am just as fascinated with the Virgo / Pisces axis and thought (Virgo) about abstract concepts (Pisces) on the way to the library (Virgo) where I borrowed some movies (Pisces).
I was thinking about a conversation the soldier and I had last night. We were watching an old movie (The Entity) and some gal… a parapsychologist said, “I always suspected there were other planes of existence.”
“Yeah, there is,” the soldier talked back to the TV.
“What do you think there is?” I asked knowing he’s thought about these things all his life.
“There is an x, y and z, axis,” he said, beaming because he loves math. “And there are a zillion planes going this way and that and this way and this way… there are an infinite number of planes…”
I didn’t say anything but I immediately burned that to the (metaphorical) hard drive that is my mind (another Virgo/ Pisces reference) because I saw practical application for the abstract concept and this is it…
If thinking about something one way is bothering you, there are an infinite number of other ways to think about it and I am pretty sure if you take advantage of this - the bounty that is out there, you can have a very happy life.
What do you think?

yeah…i’m very heavy on the Virgo/Pisces axis and use this idea constantly-reframe anything at all i don’t like. i also credit it for my relentless happiness the vast majority of the time, although I’m afraid it can be annoying to others at times when i unconsciously do the same thing to their issues.
I have Sun and Mars (8th house) and Chiron in Pisces with Uranus & Pluto & Moon in Virgo (3rd house). Uranus & Pluto oppose Sun and Mars (also Mercury although it’s in Aquarius.) So I guess this applies to me. But I don’t know that I change my feelings so much as pre-determine them to be happy to start with. Maybe I’m just parsing words a bit too much. Anyway, my experiences agree with the gist of this idea but it never would have occurred to me! Thanks for pointing this out.
that’s very similar to how i think of it… there’s some elegant conceptual models in mathematics…
Elsa,
There are other planes of existence is one way to look at our natural world which may be true. We may also simply be more than what we think we are and can access our natural creative talents that have an appearance of being other-worldly.
It’s all right here.

This post made me think of quantum physics. Im not math inclined but yeah quantum physics to me seems to apply to the Virgo/Pisces axis.
Very interesting - nothing really to add, just that this immediately reminded me of the end of my calculus education.
Second year of calculus in college, and at the end of the class we were near the end of the text book.
And I had been more fascinated by the art and abstract characteristics of calculus, than by the strictly math-based ones. (So I would struggle to learn to apply the rules, but once the philosophy related to the rules was made clear, I would grasp it no problem. For example, I would struggle with getting an equation resolved, but once I realized that I could literally tell my graphic calculator to draw a flower on the screen with the equation, I got it.)
Anyway. In that last chapter was the best revelation for me that calculus offered. Which was proof that there are infinite dimensions. I don’t remember all of it, but essentially it was the argument that if a 1D line exists, then there must be a second dimension (2D) environment for it to exist within - a plane. And if planes exist, there must be a third dimension (3D space) for them to exist within. And if there can be 3D shapes, there must be a fourth dimension for the to exist within (time). And if there is time that 3D shapes to exist in, there must be a 5th … and so on and so on.
This was proven with math outside of just that presentation of the philosophy, but it really made sense to me qualitatively.
I think this idea of contexts could be applied in a lot of really interesting and creative ways - even just for fun. But I digress.
Lots of Virgo/Pisces axis influences here ![]()

Oooh, The Entity. *shivers* We had a home-made tape of that movie off of HBO (or similar) and it cut out right around the first rape scene. I still haven’t seen it all and yet it’s been burned into my head all these years.
Now I’m going to have to go look for it, since you gave me the title!
I have Neptune mashed up with Mercury and a stellium in Libra, in my head there are 3,928,610,498,510+ ways to look at anything, even if you’re still wrong.
(Hey — Saturn’s in that mess, too. *lol*) And, yeah, even though some monumentally bad crap has happened to me, I’m still, overall, a very happy person.
