Speaking Of Using Astrology To Pick An Auspicious Day To Marry…. Good Day To Marry 2009 / 2010?
Ask the collective
One of the regular readers here is getting (got) married tonight - Congrats Susie! We got in a discussion about the wedding chart on Astrology Today - Hall Of Mirrors and then the soldier informs me he believes we can/ should marry November or December 2009.
He has his reasons. He’s done his calculations and so forth and this is what he’s come up with. He briefly explained his reasoning. He’d have explained it exhaustively but he knows I could care less. “So what do you think?” he asked. “November or December 2009.”
“I don’t know. I just can’t believe you want to get married in freezing December. It’s not romantic, it’s a cold day.”
He blushed. “Well, P, I don’t know. I’m just saying I think that’s the soonest we can do it,” he waved his hand still blushing. “Look on your heavens and see if that’s a good time,” he said before beatin’ feet out of the room.
If any of you electional astrology types happen to stumble on a good day to get married, post Nov 2009… lemme know - Thanks.

I’d vote for either Winter Solstace (a day the Universe is still on it’s metaphorical teeter-totter). I’m sorry it’s not astrologically based, but I do fins Solstaces romantic in general.
I don’t have an answer for you but I love this question.
Congrats
I don’t have a date, just want to let out a Homer Simpson “Woo Hoo”!! Such exciting news!:
Yeah, Pixie, I hope we just don’t go fighting to the altar! Crap, do we risk having witnesses!!
I could just see us scaring the hell out of the wedding party… the two freaks howling at each other, loud Italian voices booming. Neither of us are civilized see. This is the problem. If it breaks out it breaks out. And somehow I think this tragedy / failure of character on both our parts is amusing… though I doubt I would find many to agree with me.
I just like being part of a phenomena and that’s the truth.
This is a fun story to follow Elsa! Can I ask, why was the soldier blushing? Was he embarassed about asking you to do the astrology thing, or just feelin’ shy about marriage talk?
I remember attending a great big Italian wedding when I was a teenager. TONS of food–great food!–and a big brawl at the end of the reception. Of course, the reception was held in the gym of their parochial school alma mater, and they were sure to hold off on the fight until Father Whoever had gone home for the night.
No, he was embarrassed because he said we should get married in November and “weather” did not occur to him in the least.
He is an SF guy… period. So he does his operations and romance / freezing cold icy tundra Colorado did not occur.
He is not shy to get married, he always wanted to marry me - I was the one who said no. Plus he is just the marrying kind. He wanted to get married when he was a teenager and people don’t change all that much. I am the slippery one…
Congratulations Elsa!!!- Look on you heavens and see if it’s a good time??? hahahaha. I guess real men don’t really care about the weather when they get married.
Elsa, does it have to be during traditional hours?
Loonsounds, I dunno. I can fight after hours I suppose.
But really, I just don’t know. I have no idea how to get married, the whole concept makes my heart pound.
Midnight on the Oasis! If you are going to wait until then you might as well travel to somewhere nice and warm!
Personally, I feel that December is a really romantic time to get hitched. I have visions of an evening wedding and candles and a red velvet dress. But, hey, thats me. Not you. But you would probably look really hot in a red velvet dress. Am I right? Yeah….
Hah! Just for laffs, get a load of the chart for the first date that came into my head, New Year’s Eve 2009 @ 4:00. If you want a fight on your wedding day, (and for the rest of your life!), pick that one! Whew~!
Oh yeah, set it for Denver for the full effect.
Two ways to get romantic out of a November or December wedding… One, make it a destination wedding and go somewhere warm! Two, make it all about the wedding night. Winter is a most excellent time for spending time in front of a fireplace and snuggling under warm blankets, which can be VERY romantic!
I have actually married in December before… ugh. ::rolls eyes::
Oh, man! You have? Hey is there any reason to wait? (I have Venus in Aries–I’d do it today, if you had nothing else planned in the afternoon, ha ha ha)!
Congrats!!!
Congratulations!!!
Congratulations! Yay
Time to look at this….

I used Big Sky Astrology for my wedding date this year and a friend of mine used April for her wedding date in 2009.
The best fall/winter dates are October 16 or 17, 2009 (weekend) or December 10, 2009 if you can swing a mid-week wedding.
