Open Question: Would You Like To Sleep Surrounded By Water?

Ask the collective

pool-bed.jpgCheck this out.  Does it have any appeal?  What appeal does it have?

Personally, I think I’d be sick to my stomach in that bed.  Too womb like for me. Too closed in.

What do you think and can you tie your opinion to your chart?

Imagine at night, low light under water, the ceiling dissappears improving ambiance. This is one of the hideaways of Scorpio bachelor. He has a scull and cross bones flag hanging outside. He is a 41-year old chiropractor I think, ready to settle down in about 10 years. I used to get stuck in these places when transitting Pluto was sextiling my Capricorn Venus. I am a Goat Fish.

  2. maheggo says on 7/20/08 at 11:55 am:

I love water and being on water….just don’t know about this. I think I would really like it for a great place to make love…but to sleep…that is questionable.

I ahve no clue how to tie this into my chart.

  3. llama says on 7/20/08 at 11:55 am:

Too soggy. And chlorine-y. For that kind of money, you could get a place with a view of REAL water, like the ocean.

  4. doublecappy says on 7/20/08 at 12:01 pm:

Hmmm… I don’t know what it is about my chart, maybe all that earth? But I love being surrounded by water. I used live in a house on the ocean and go to bed at night with the waves crashing. And I can’t say there’s anything much better than that. (at least as far as sleeping arrangements go!)

Though that room doesn’t look so appealing because it’s closed in….

  5. june says on 7/20/08 at 12:06 pm:

Might be nice for novelty but I’d be scared to death of falling out of bed. Or one of the lamps falling in the water. Further, if it’s chlorinated, I might have trouble breathing after a while. In any case… novelty yes, forever no.

  6. omie says on 7/20/08 at 12:17 pm:

I’m cancer with taurus rising, but that looks like hell on earth to me.

I have lots and lots of uranus saying help get me out!!!!

  7. satori says on 7/20/08 at 12:21 pm:

mmmm… I have water in 4-8-12, planets in all. I’d love it. funny everyone says they’d like it for sex, not sleeping. I’m the opposite. I imagine it as a saline rather than chlorine set-up. and cool, rather than warm. mmm, sleeping in cool, moist air would be good for my skin. I’d like a wall of french doors with long, gauzy curtains where the camera sits, and a veranda opening onto trees. you could open the doors at night and have a fresh breeze.

  8. satori says on 7/20/08 at 12:22 pm:

but I wouldn’t want to clean it.

  9. Ricardo says on 7/20/08 at 12:30 pm:

hmm… no thanks! I’m feeling claustrophobic and cold just by looking at the photo. The warm feeling that should come with the bed doesn’t go with the fresh and wet feeling of water. Love them both but separate… I am not a child anymore ahahah

  10. Lilly says on 7/20/08 at 12:31 pm:

I don’t even like water beds…I love the ocean, not just any ole water…I’ll pass, thanks ;) (No water in chart, but I have Neptune on the midheaven *shrug*)

  11. Piya says on 7/20/08 at 12:42 pm:

I agree with llama — I would much rather have a lakeside house than that. Now, it may just be that I think those colors are tacky, and the lighting is too bright, and under different circumstances I might like it but …

The logistics of going to the bathroom in the middle of the night kind of disturb me.

I do have a Pisces moon and I love being near the water, but I don’t think Leo could be surrounded by all that blue for too long.

  12. Piya says on 7/20/08 at 12:44 pm:

Oh yeah. And I MUST have windows with SUNLIGHT! Otherwise I just feel like I’m in the basement.

  13. spinner says on 7/20/08 at 12:51 pm:

I have so much earth in my chart that this looks sterile and void of life. A sunny lakeside cottage sounds ideal. With lot’s of trees and birds nearby. People too, as long as I can have some time to myself once and a while.

  14. Tam says on 7/20/08 at 12:52 pm:

While swimming around naked with someone and then crawling in the bed for sex is appealing. The room is too big for me to be comfortable in.

The deal breaker is the lack of windows. I have to have air. I would fell like I was entombed! LOL

  15. Loonsounds says on 7/20/08 at 1:25 pm:

Ew, tacky, tacky tacky. Reminds me of those old city public swimming pools that you know all the kids pee in.

I don’t think I’d like it no matter what my chart was like, LOL.

  16. Jilly says on 7/20/08 at 1:30 pm:

I like water but I can smell the chlorine from here.

There’s probably a filtration system humming away in the background too and lint and hair and crap floating around on the surface.

And like Loonsounds mentioned, it has a “municipal” vibe.

    Nuh uh.

  17. Ana says on 7/20/08 at 1:53 pm:

No way. It looks sticky and trapped in, definitely “entombed”. I like being surrounded by sunlight and fresh air…and lots of trees :)

  18. maureen says on 7/20/08 at 1:53 pm:

Geez…what’s with all that blue? And the fake stars on the ceiling?? And the lack of windows (give me air!!!!!!). That’s my Gemini talking. If some Lothario brought me in here, I’d take a dip and then run like hell.

  19. Ana says on 7/20/08 at 1:55 pm:

There’s something about the whole circular bed and arrangement too…it’s disorienting.

  20. Monica says on 7/20/08 at 1:58 pm:

Hmm I actually like it.. the unusual and fantasy appeal that it has..

does it appeal to all the Uranus in my chart?

  21. phel says on 7/20/08 at 1:58 pm:

    Couldn’t do it.

Not a darned thing in my chart to ’splain!

  22. Jilly says on 7/20/08 at 2:18 pm:

I just have to come back and say that room is visually disturbing haha.

If that clunky could-it-be-more-conspicuous large black object on the left (unbalancing the whole space) is a TELEVISION that is too funny to me.

  23. Jennifer says on 7/20/08 at 2:34 pm:

As long as I didn’t develop a tendency to roll out of bed, it wouldn’t bother me. Seems impractical for daily living, though.

It vaguely makes me wonder if all that water would make me want to pee.

  24. Conny says on 7/20/08 at 2:47 pm:

I couldn’t breath there. Sun in Leo, Aquarius rising, no way to get me into this mix of pool and laboratory. Looks like there are hidden cameras all around and the water will start rising at any time.

  25. Heather says on 7/20/08 at 3:12 pm:

I would need windows as well and well…just not my cup of tea.

  26. joana says on 7/20/08 at 3:18 pm:

Guh, hate it. It’s so impersonal, I hate covered pools, the smell, the heat….argh and I’m not a fan of blue in bedrooms.
The bed in itself looks fine.
The astrology of it? My venus in scorpio prefers a room that’s more intimate, I guess.

  27. Lexie says on 7/20/08 at 3:57 pm:

OOoooo I think I’m in love!

  28. Avery says on 7/20/08 at 4:27 pm:

OMG, if some bachelor were to get far enough with me to lead me to his bedroom, and ended up being THAT, I would bust out laughing and have to leave, and then he would hate me for making fun of his cheesy lair and that would be the end of the relationship.

  29. Conny says on 7/20/08 at 4:27 pm:

This bed is a good symbol, it awakens all kind of emotions. It’s funny because it’s actually not the water that bothers me, but the enclosure. Water and air are enclosed. It’s different than sleeping on an island surrounded by the sea and the sky above, I love that.

  30. Avery says on 7/20/08 at 4:32 pm:

And what if you have to get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom? *kerplunk* Extremely impractical.

  31. Dina says on 7/20/08 at 5:24 pm:

I don’t think it’s womb like at all, water signs got to testify. Cold, clean lines? Modern architecture? Cold blue colors? Huge airy wide open space (though possibly warm from the pool smell)? Cancer types like a den as far as I understand. A home with lots of decorative stuff. My room is loaded with books and knick knacks, I keep my door closed to be comfortable (I freak out when my door is open), I close all the windows when I sleep. A womb is closed up. Oh yeah, I’ve slept under two down comforters all season long for most of my life. My parents who like fresh air don’t understand me.

  32. Dina says on 7/20/08 at 5:30 pm:

When I was a little kid, I used to fantasize about that picture which was on my bookmark. (I also wanted an attic library and a big red armchair). I loved Owl at Home and Mouse Soup (home, warm color palette, soup) at an unacceptably advanced age (maybe like 16), liked the beginning of the Hobbit when they describe his house, and liked the part in the Wind in the Willows when they find Badger’s house in the winter. That’s womb like, people.

  33. Deirdre says on 7/20/08 at 6:42 pm:

hmmm let’s guess dina’s Moon and Venus… Do I smell Taurus? or Pisces?

  34. Loonsounds says on 7/20/08 at 7:11 pm:

I guess Cancer is too obvious?

  35. Snapdragon says on 7/20/08 at 7:55 pm:

Good grief, with all my water: Scorpio and Pisces - that’s still just awful.

    Circa hmmm…. early 1980?

And I have to agree with all the rest about no windows, falling out of bed or falling in on the way to the bathroom….

I just can’t find one thing that I like about it - even though I love the colour turquoise.

  36. spinner says on 7/20/08 at 8:07 pm:

Maybe Austin Powers or 007 would like this place.

  37. Snapdragon says on 7/20/08 at 8:12 pm:

Not cool enough for 007, but maybe if they threw some psycadelic colours on the wall it would suit Austin?

  38. cj says on 7/20/08 at 8:13 pm:

why even bother with that stupid tv as the focal point? it boggles my mind, there’s not even a view of some real scenery from that bed with a moat. The main view is the tv, anyone can lie in a big bed with tv anywhere.

  39. spinner says on 7/20/08 at 8:17 pm:

Can you imagine the sparks if you knocked the stupid tv in the pool on the way to the bathroom!

  40. Snapdragon says on 7/20/08 at 8:21 pm:

heyyyy, it could be like laying out underneath the stars during a meteor shower, lol

  41. kashmiri says on 7/20/08 at 8:45 pm:

I sleep like I’m dead, so I totally wouldn’t care. (That must be my 12th House Neptune trine 8th House Saturn—I probably die a little death every night).
As for going pee in the middle of the night, I just wouldn’t. I wouldn’t pee.
As an aside, when I was 10 years old I used to take naps stretched out on a wooden bench in our kitchen, on my back. With my arms on my tummy. Yup. Dead/asleep= same thing for me.

I would dream about water though, so I’d have to be prepared for going boating all night long, or some such nonsense.

  42. Becca says on 7/20/08 at 9:15 pm:

My first thought is that the humidity in that room would be too oppressive for me to sleep well. But it’s the lack of windows that really does it in for me; I’ve got way too much air in my chart to sleep in a room with no windows.

  43. wyrdling says on 7/20/08 at 9:56 pm:

only if it was sea water/ didn’t smell like chlorine. then it might be sleeping on a boat. but no stars :( so no. give me the boat.

  44. Althera says on 7/20/08 at 11:18 pm:

Agree with Lexie. Looks like heaven. Relaxing. I think I would walk in there and all stress would melt away.

But also with CJ - I’d boot the TV. Definitely would need goo ventilation though.

  45. nycgirl says on 7/21/08 at 3:38 am:

I can’t get past what the air must be like — chlorine-y and musty-moldy, like sleeping in a gym locker room. Sense-oriented Taurus here..

Natural water in the open air, on the other hand? Nirvana (Moon/Neptune conjunct IC)

  46. Jeremy says on 7/21/08 at 6:50 am:

Really good question. I’d prefer it to fire or earth though…

  47. Heather M. says on 7/21/08 at 7:00 am:

And the tiles. They seems to forgot tile aesthetics. . .

  48. Alma says on 7/21/08 at 8:47 am:

Yuck. Dank and claustrophobic. Water features need to stay out of the bedroom. I need windows, light, and breezes. Libra rising, Uranus in first.
This is so tacky. Like when you go to a man’s bedroom for the first time, and he has a huge mirror propped up next to the bed.

  49. Dina says on 7/21/08 at 2:35 pm:

Yeah, Alma. You could totally picture a creepy millionaire gigolo taking you up there and playing some Adult Contemporary music or something from the speakers built into the pool.

  50. Beth Turnage says on 7/21/08 at 5:34 pm:

It seems to be missing a waterfall and railings on the bridge to the bed, otherwise dreamy (says Moon in Pisces)
