Tips!

Ask the collective

tipjar.jpgToday I got 3 tips. I got a tip in my tip jar for doing nothing different then I did yesterday, people suggested I sell t-shirts that say, “I have Libra and I can’t decide” and satori told me I should write a book on how to keep a man happy.

I have to say, I feel pretty damned good and weren’t we going to have a happy blog once a week or so?  Something light fare?  Well this is it.

Jupiter is opposing the Sun and Venus in Cancer so tell us something happy.  Maybe even boast a little… while it’s still legal, ha ha ha.

Tell us something happy before they come tell us that laughing makes you fat, it causes cancer, it makes you smoke and further, it creates problems for the depressed so stop it already you lousy not PC bastard!!!

What good thing happened to you today?

Something I learned from you kicked in today…my husband called to say he was about to lose his job and instead of freaking out and bemoaning the hand dealt, I shifted focus and can see a great opportunity here…we can shed some stuff and shed some expectations about what we are supposed to want and focus on a simpler and more fulfilling life. I know that is a good thing for him to hear.

Hi Elsa,
Your happy blog today coincides perfectly with a friend’s decision to make this week, Week of Happy (or WOH), in which she is encouraging people to do something creative everyday, big or small.

Here’s the WOH link: http://oonaballoona.blogspot.com/

John is starting a new radio show for a community radio station in Inishowen, his home area in Ireland. He was contacted (finally) by a local web design company who has happily added him to their list of contractors and who will hopefully send some work his way very soon. I was contacted by a friend of his about a dog related job. Same friend has ongoing work for John.

Things have been really heavy around here so I’m thrilled that it seems to be shifting. We’re hopeful again.

Oh and I’m doing my tarot show tonight. That always makes me happy.

One of my co-workers is moving to a different state and he came by today with his three year old daughter. She came into my office, remembered my name, and said “you always had candy before do you have any for me today?” I said yes, and gave her some. When she left she said “I hope I see you again” I said thank you and she said “you’re welcome”. Bless her heart, that was better than anything money could have bought!

I bought organic oranges and they tasted like shitty old sunkist–$4 for 4 pounds (ok I guess). But was really pissed at how nasty they were (you know Taurus when they get ripped off with food).

As soon as I ate it I ran into one of my favorite people, who pulled out a delicious, cold, tasty orange and gave it to me! WOOOOOT! Not only that he bought 12 for $1.50 at a Korean grocers–double WOOT!

kashmiri - I went to the Korean grocer today too. Produce discounted 70% in many cases and variety beyond your wildest imagination.

last night we had a real sit-down dinner with candles and The Most Wonderful Man in the World bbq’d steaks for us. and he fixed my window screen which has been broken for years! I used to love sleeping with the window open; now I can do it again!

I had to work early on little sleep but my client was so much fun to talk to! and she tipped me really big! this afternoon I realized I didn’t have kids tonight so I took a nap. mmmmmm.

and tomorrow I’m finally getting my car fixed so I can stop being embarrassed that I’m a driving a hoopty that shakes and sputters when it idles!

:D thanks kashmiri, I’ve been feeling pretty twinkly and gushy lately. I’ve never had anyone I wanted to brag about before… ::blush::

I hope someday you find an orange that makes you feel that way. ;)

My brother and sister-in-law finally heard from the Chinese government that they’ve been matched with a little girl to adopt. They’re going to China to pick her up some time in the next month or two, and spending a couple of weeks with my sister-in-law’s family in Shanghai while they’re over there.

Let me see, today the Orbitz people sent me a reminder to get ready for my trip to Sedona, Az day after tomorrow: Five days in a spiritual vortex yesssssssssssss! Among other things, I aim to get a past life regression session. I never had one so it will be interesting to see if they can get my energy into whatever condition it has to be there to go there. Anyone had this done before? Any tips on that?

Lupa, what’s a tarot show? That sounds like a lot of fun!

Hey man, Taurus loves looking at pictures of money in any form. Elsa, can you recreate that picture of the tip jar so that it has, like, twenties poking out of it instead of ones? Or even hundred dollar bills poking out, that would look beauty-ful :-).

I called someone that I’ve wanted to know better and asked if she would like to have coffee with me. She did one better and invited me over for dinner and we laughed and talked and I’m very excited, feels like the beginnings of a new friendship.

“Elsa, can you recreate that picture of the tip jar so that it has, like, twenties poking out of it instead of ones?”

Ha ha ha… I have no skills but it’s a good idea. Freakin’ inflation! a dollar these days buys 1/4 a gal of gas. Takes another dollar to get to the station!

loons I have never had a past life regression session, but i tried to get one once when i was in thailand. i had a very very good feeling about the woman.
she actually refused to give me one, and asked me to spend the same amount of $ letting her teach me chakra balancing techniques.
I believe her exact words were ‘if you learn this technique a past life regression session will be unnecessary’.
well, GEE. I studied with her and everything in me opened up. Not only that I began to ’see’ and be in tune with my past lives.

My only tip would be to drink a ton of water as that sort of thing dehydrates you immensely, and it is common for people to feel ’sick’ afterwards (ie. mildly flu-like). Take ‘er easy and I hope you gat a lot out of it.

Ya know how the people at starbucks always have dollar bills in the tip jar? I think that is, like, a subliminal thing with some of us highly neptune and easily influenced types. We don’t think, we just see it, and we put in a dollar. I am glad they don’t fill them with five dollar bills ~~~yikes~~~

So maybe this is something your bartending experience can help with, but I wasn’t really thinking about inflation so much as I was thinking about this notion of envisioning larger and larger amounts of money, kind of like…telepathically drawing in wealth.

Normally, I am not a big believer in this kind of process, but when it comes to the subject of money I have a very open mind about trying all manner of new things; I figure it can’t hurt.

Thanks kashmiri, that is interesting because in my prayers I have been asking for the balancing of the chakras. I can feel it, compressed energy rather than free flowing energy out through the top of my head. So thanks for the idea, I am sure they will offer this in Sedona. I really think the astro explanation is linked in with an 8th house Saturn in Scorpio “chakra issues” ;-)

Light, right? (Because I’m going to court tomorrow and in general the shit in my life is heavy)

My sweetheart invited me to be his date to a wedding in Mexico in October! He is a Sadge moon and commitment-shy so I am floating!

Loonsounds, I had a past life regression. I had trouble “going under” to start with, but was able to see one life. Afterward when I started coming around I felt like you do when you have been in the swimming pool for a long time then you try to pull yourself out.

I met up with my ex-roommates for vodka and soda, video games and second hand smoke. Which may not sound like much, but they are Pisces, and there’s nothing like living Neptune, except living Neptune when you all have jupiter contacts (which we all do) and the neptune and the jupiter hits everybody up chart to chart with the occasional mars or uranus (trines, sextiles, and in two cases mars-jupiter opposition) contact to keep you all from being bored.

“Now, I’m just gonna sit at the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Oooo-wee, sittin’ on the dock of the bay
Wastin’ time”

It’s rained since the winter solstice and it stopped today. The sun came shining into my room to wake me up. How incredibly delighted I felt - walked down to massively flooded river with my kids and dogs. The birds sang axtra loudly.

Thank you, kashmiri! Unfortunately, it went badly for me today. It was a Mars-Saturn [total] defeat that I saw coming because my ex has natal Mars-Saturn trined by today’s conjunction. I wish it hadn’t worked out that way, but he won, completely, and it wasn’t the right thing. :( I think it’s part of my Pluto-to-Mars transit, and I went a little deeper into the well.

Aw, thanks for this chance, Elsa. I got health insurance today.

I got a new black crocheted shirt that I love and can wear tomorrow night.

I got a ton of work done.

I ran three miles and didn’t get terribly out of breath.

I made ratatouille.

A friend in deep distress told me I really helped her.

I let go of a lot.

(This list is very cappy of me) :)

Jessica–I’m sorry…I don’t know if you’ll even see this post, but that’s tough. Ouch. I’ve witnessed Pluto/Mars conjunct up close and it is fucking ugly as sin, but I promise you this: key word is ‘initiation.’ Full stop. Yours.
